Our company bought a bunch for facilities of that same tractor. They have been workhorses the whole way through. Not just for the mowing of the grass and everything else going up-and-down hills. But it also has a plow attachment and a blow or attachment that is awesome. And one thing you should have mentioned is that it's shaft drive that no deck is driven by the shaft so as to blower. I'm switching back-and-forth between blade and blower is super easy in the wintertime. And it takes me 5 minutes to switch from the plow to the blower. And it has a bunch of other attachments that are pretty cool including a scoop that you can move around your mulching stuff and don't put right where you want it. A very effective piece of equipment I highly recommend it for anybody that is looking for a well dependable tractor

Thanks for the review. I purchased a D120 John Deere lawn tractor, new about 10 years ago. Still cuts grass perfectly and never had to bring it in for repairs. Mine is not as heavy duty as the 700 series although I have no complaints.

Glad you enjoyed it! Your mower sounds great too. If you take care of them they last forever!

Looking to upgrade from an older John Deere 445. It has been an incredible machine. But it's getting tiered and parts are getting harder to find. To get the same equivalent machine today. I have to go to the x700 series. To my knowledge, John Deere has changed their classifications. They don't even offer a 400 series anymore.

I’m also looking at the x700’s
the John Deere 425, 445, 455 series supposedly are considered to be one of the best John Deere has ever made as far as “classics” go. I’ve heard that from multiple deere dealers through out the years.

My neighbors spending $70 each week (regardless of weather) for a 20 minute bozo mow, wack and blow...it's like why??? You can afford a machine like this why not just do it yourself. Absolutely beautiful machine!

My customers are just to busy in their daily life's. Other times their mowers are broken and the grass is extremely high.

Yea, I had an x720 with a 54 inch deck. I only cut about 3/4 acre of grass. (big hat, no cattle). I bought it used with 16 hrs. on the meter. The deal I got was so good I couldn't pass it up. I kept it 11 years then sold it ($2,000 profit) and downsized to an x590 with a 48 inch deck. Couldn't be happier with my decision. I can handle the 48 inch deck much easier when I remove it and turn it over for annual cleaning.

The problem I have with the X500 series. (Belts & pulleys), it's not a shaft driven system like the X700 series. Which will last much longer.

I’d love to have this simply for the 4wd. My property is all hill and the K90 transaxle this has gives me some confidence. My other options right now are a Husqvarna 354XD, Cub Cadet XT2 GX54D or a Simplicity Broadmoore. This is at the very top end of my budget but god it has everything I need. The other seem like decent mowers but the frames and smaller transaxles and lack of 4wd don’t give me much hope.

On your E150 I highly suggest swapping out the front wheel races for bearings before your axles get worn beyond repair. Maybe you’re too late like I was as I have 190 hours on mine. There are lots of videos on how to do it. Easy process too. FYI.

If you have mostly flat land. A zero turn would be a better option. But this would be safer on hilly terrain. You could also get attachments. Can't get that with a zero turn.

The X7 series is NOT a lawn tractor. The X7 & X5 are GARDEN tractors.
    The 100, 200 & X300 series are LAWN tractors. Theres a difference.
$12K is a bit much to pay for a lawn mower.
    !

I paid $10,000 for my 2016 X738 now 8 years ago. It has 350 hours on it from
mowing 2 1/2 acres of grass 8 months out of the year. I have not had one
moment of trouble with it. I could sell it in a minute for $8,000, so that is a
depreciation of $250 a year. I am 78 years old, and with this mower I can
      safely mow my 2 1/2 acres in about 2 1/2 hours. I figure I am saving $150
a week to maintain our land with someone else mowing it. For 8 months of
      mowing at 4 times a month, this equals 32 mows @ $150 ea. = $4800 a year.
So, if you deduct $250 a year in depreciation and 3 gallons of gas for each
      mow @ $3.33 a gallon = $10 a mow X 32 mows = $320 in fuel and $40 a
year in maintenance = $510 a year in depreciation, gas and maintenance.
This gives me an operational savings of $4290 to mow my own lawn with
a $10,000 mower. By mowing my own lawn, I am paying myself $53 an hour
for 80 hours of mowing. Where can a 78 year old man get a part time job
paying $53 an hour for 2 1/2 hours or $132 a week? The fresh air, exercise
and sunshine are worth the effort, and it saves me on buying Vitamin D.
