  • In the fall and winter of 1995 we traveled around the Cincinnati, Ohio region to capture Norfolk Southern & CSX action around town. We travel from south to north, beginning in Walton, Kentucky and ending at the junction between Norfolk Southern's Newcastle District & Conrail's Cincinnati Line at CP Vaughn in Evendale, Ohio.
Other locations visited include Erlanger, KY along the CNO&TP 1st District, Riverside, Ohio on CSX's Indiana Subdivision, Elmwood Place, Ohio along Conrail's Cincinnati Line, Carthage, Ohio along CSX's Toledo Subdivision, & Pleasant Ridge + Reading Ohio on Norfolk Southern's Newcastle District. A plethora of freight trains were seen including CSX, Norfolk Southern, Conrail, Cotton Belt, & Santa Fe.

I really never thought back then The I&O tracks in Reading were NS New Castle tracks despite Conrail owning the tracks
