To those who are starting their loc journey, remember to get ALL the soap out of your locs when washing your hair! Leaving the littlest bits can attract dirt and dust and if you one day choose to brush your locs out (like me) it can be a little gross. But anyway hope your learned a little something! And if you have questions feel free to ask below!

I live in a large city. I've lived primarily in all black neighborhoods. It is so rare to see a woman with long styled locs. If someone like Queen B would loc her hair over night you'd see a change of minds.

A lot of these styles look the same. Just the hair out, ponytail, or some sort of bun. This was part of the reason I didn’t want dreads (not specifically this video, just the thought of not having much hairstyles). But I still got them anyway. Whenever you look on CZcams you only see these type of styles and how to curl your hair with dreads. That left me thinking you can’t do much things with locd hair. I then came across an instagram hair influencer who made videos for people with dreads/ locd hair. And I followed her because I haven’t seen hairstyles like that with dreads. It’s way more then people show on CZcams. I followed her tutorials and I like it. If you have dreads or any type of locs you should too, I’m sure her videos have something for everyone. The thing that hurts is that no matter WHAT hairstyle compilation you're watching. You never see dark skin girls!
I'm sorry you feel that way. Being that black features and skin-shades is not a monolith, what "darkskin" is varies from culture, location, and personal perception. There were several gorgeous dark-skin girls featured in this video, but maybe due to lighting or what you view as darkskin, it did not appear to you as such. Hope that helped! ❤️ -BGG2B

I have a question for the natural/kinky haired people *What are your thoughts on people with straight hair getting dreads?*
Perro Grande 。 I personally don’t like it because locs are apart of black culture, but I also can’t prevent someone from doing their hair a certain way.
I don't think your stealing black culture or whatever if you do get locs with straight hair but what I do think is that it always looks terrible. Afro-textured hair works the best and looks the nicest and that's the truth.
Locs are NOT black culture. Everyone's hair can locs/mats together if it's not being combed. What do you think people used to do in the beginning when all these tools to keep their hair from matting didn't exist yet? Everyone's hair can loc, so it's not black culture. Mainly black people are seen with it nowadays as it's easier to maintain our hair, but it doesn't belong to us. Let your hair do its thing and you'll see yours can loc too.
My husband is black but his hair is pretty straight, he still locked his hair and it looks great on him.
