    I bought mine in 1999 I believe, same color. For me, the best advantages are 1) it is really easy to get a tight fit and 2) you can flip the lever between sets to get your breath. Overall, you get an extremely tight fit and you don't spend all day reefing on the tag end of a normal belt.
    I broke the lever this year and for a few bucks shipping, Inzer sent me a new lever and screws. Great service on a 14 year old product.
    After all of these years, it hasn't lost any stiffness or effectiveness, they really are a lifetime product.

    • @BasementBrandon
      @BasementBrandon  Před 10 lety +1

      Agreed! I see people struggle with prongs to get tight enough (usually have to have another person help), not to mention the pain of getting it off again.

    They wait till the dragons are at least 15 years old before they harvest the leather to make sure its the right thickness. Inzer dragons for 10 mm. For 13 mm belts they have to hunt the rare Terror Blight dragons. Ben Rice the Weight Wizard plays a big part in tracking them down.

    I heard from other channels that the 10mm is preferred for competitive power lifters because that's the size allowed in competition.

    Just put an Inzer on order earlier today. I know the only thing that is for sure to break one in is wear/time, but when I always got a new baseball glove growing up, it would help to speed up the breaking in process if you baked it in the oven. Do you have any thoughts on this with the belt? Btw your vids are always helpful and keep me entertained.

    I bought a 10mm Inzer Lever belt a few months ago. For some reason it kills my lower ribs when I squat with it. I have to wear two shirts because it rubs right on top of my hip bone and again my lower ribs. I can't even use it for dead lifting. I end up using my old flimsy belt when I do deads because it restricts my flexibility too much and I can't get into proper position. Did you have any growing pains when breaking in the belt? I'm just wondering if eventually I'll get used to it.

  • @BasementBrandon
    @BasementBrandon  Před 11 lety

I'm 6'4", 210 and wear a 33-34 waist jeans. By that, I'm not sure whether to go with their medium (30-33") or large (34-38")

    I've had my 10mm Inzer for 6 years now, and it's still in excellent condition. The downsides to the lever buckle is the metal of the lever is poorly finished with rough and sharp edges. Also, adjusting the size requires unscrewing 2 screws, which takes about 2 minutes.

    Hey Brandon, would a different brand/company of lever belts be any good compared to inzer? I'm from Australia and the shipping alone for the Inzer belt is $120! I'm not that sure if its really worth to pay for that kind of shipping. I'm most likely going to get the australian brand lever belts as it would be cheaper. Just asking for your opinion thanks!

    Hey Brandon, what do you say to people who say you should never wear a belt because it inhibits your core strength development (by acting as a crutch)?
    For instance, Scott Herman just recently did a 505lb deadlift raw and said that no one should ever use a belt and should instead simply build their "internal weight belt". Also, I have seen a few people talking about doing stomach vacuums in order to build the core to the point where you don't need a belt.
    Your thoughts?

    Inzer's site says to allow up to 6 weeks, if they have to assemble/make the item before they send it to you. When I ordered mine, I got it in black, and that was the only one they had in stock. If you ordered a different color, that may be the reason it took so long, as they still had to make it before sending it out :P

    I find I have a good amount of room. You have to remember that these belts are meant to be quite tight as is. However if you're concerned your waist gets bigger when bulking, a larger size might be more desirable.
