I am currently learning how to play harp and whenever i think im not getting the hang of it fast enough i always come back to this video and am immediately inspired again
Do you play piano? I learned harp at the same time I learned piano. I started at 4 I think and then when I went to a harp teacher come six or seven, she showed me how to sit and how to snap the strings...because you don't want to pluck harp strings, you snap your fingers into your hand and develop a big palm muscle and you get to the point you can snap your fingers loud as thunder. Anyways, at the end of lesson number 2, my harp teacher asked to speak with my parents. She said she could no longer teach me anything and I needed a more advanced teacher. Turns out if you can play piano, you can already play harp. At that point, I could take any piano song and just grab my harp and play it perfectly on it. You may not think they're similar but it's the exact same instrument. It is simply that the piano is a sideways harp where you hit the strings with a hammer. And the harp is upright and you use your fingers. It took me two lessons to learn the difference and basically if you know piano, you already know how to play harp.
I have just never liked peruvian harps. I have always played since i was 4 though on a 40 string lever and then 10 years later I got a concert grand 47 strings with pedals. So it is just offensive to my ears to hear a small peruvian harp. This guy is palletable though on whatever the heck he wants to play. Hes incredible.
WHEN HE PICKED UP THAT HARP I LOST ALL MY BRAIN CELLS
😄
LOL

😭😭
That is famous harpist Victor Espinola, i was lucky to meet him in person and talk to him when he was playing in Hard Rock in Fl.
he shreds on the harp better than most e-guitarists
Keeps that wife happy for sure.
LMFAOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

@@user-dz9wp7mq7f not supposed to use nails, harpist develop insane calluses on their fingers from picking
@@mynarco_yoyo Exactly, you can see he keep his nails out of the way from plucking the strings, and is using his fingertips
He's got his soul in that harp just like a child not letting go his most cherished toy. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
