I used to buy a lot of synths and plug ins. Now all I use is serum, kickstart, little alter boy and endless smile. I used to buy a lot of sample packs as well. Now I just use splice. I type in the genre, key of my song and don’t overthink it and drag the sample into my project. Also recently switched from FL Studio to Ableton and it was hard to transition but now I see that Ableton is fl with less steps.

I don’t know if this is the proper place to ask this but is a 2020 pre M1 MacBook Pro 32gb ram going to be sufficient for music production?

Heard that even 16 gb is overkill so you’re good for the next few years. I got a m3 MacBook pro but 16 gb ram model. Actually works great no issues yet.

Can you tell me alternatives to use in fl studio, wave table, analog etc? It seems so easy to produce on ableton but can never get it right on FL and have spend too much on FL to switch

Most people start on fl. If you feel like you‘d enjoy ableton and you‘re just scared to transition, give it a shot! Fl for most people gets very repetitive after a few years workflow wise. Analog would be 3osc wavetable could be serum but there‘s nothing integrated as well as the native ableton plugins in fl.

3x osc for bass/rumbles, sytrus, harmless/harmor for synths, transistor bass for 303s acid

The time you put into Ableton will pay you back tenfold

If you learn the synthesis then it can translate over to FL studio or any daw. But you might as well switch to ableton since it sounds like it’d be easier for you.

I’ve switched to Ableton 10 days ago. To have known both, I prefer Ableton by far as it’s more intuitive and you can do almost everything you want just by using Ableton built-in plugins. It’s also very easy to re-adapt to Ableton as the majority of things you know from FL Studio are the same on Ableton, it’s only the interface or shortcuts that changes !
