    I received mine today, i ve spend more than three hours setting it up, but i achieved great results and i am very happy with the outcome, sound wise i expected it to be much worse!
    The neck PU is very muddy, the bridge tho is very decent and writes well! Frets and fret job is great! Bridge is very responsive! Nut is very good too, the thing i totaly hate are the tuning pegs, they are jumpy and very hard to turn, i ve sprayed some WD 40 but the improvement was minor, the neck was a bit rough but i ve applied some fast fret on it and its more than fine! For the set up what i did is trust rod adjustment, intonation, action, pickups, fretboard oil and frets polishing. I am going to replace the PU to tosin set and then the tuning pegs to something that comes either in set for an 8 string or pegs outside of sets. Overall i am very happy with my purchase!

      Yeah, i wrote it too, the first thing i would change are the tuners ....
      and maybe the pickups but i really like the bridge PU so i guess they stay.
      Doing setup with 2 Truss Rods alone was 2h+ because i wanted to have it nearly perfect :D
      But then the Board / Frets are a dream!
      The Neck was lil bit sandy but just play with the guitar, it will become smooth .
      Basically we had the same experience, just put in some work and you'll end up with an amazing guitar for 300€ :)
      got the idea of an better review together with some others who bought this ... interested? :>

      @@luca4229 i actually got mine shipped a few days ago, what i did is ordering a 6 string set of gotoh lockings (along with Abasi PU set) from thomann for 69 euros and since thomann doesnt sell em separately... i ve found a really cool shop called guitars parts centre on Poland that actually does sell single gotoh lockings, so i ve found the exact ones from the set that i ve bought from thomann and ordered two more separately 14,48 each and the shipping cost to Greece is like 5 euros not to mention they offer the slingies strings 9-80 for 10 euros! I am using 381 gotoh tuners on my prestige for 10 years and they are the best machine heads i ve ever seen (they even hold tune on a floyd rose guitar without the nut locks tighened) I hope you make use of this info and hey! Dont forget to tell us what you did in the end 😉😉

    Great video for what concerns the manufacturing quality of the instrument. Great audio sample for the cleans too. The distortion samples though were complete shit if I may be honest. Sounded pretty much like you tested on a badly setup Metal Zone. Thanks anyways, this gave me a great idea of what type of instrument I'm getting for the price.

    • @arthostheheretic
      @arthostheheretic  Před 3 lety +4

      Yeah, the distortion parts were just "do something" and i was getting tired and wanted to finish this.
      Im playing at home at low volume so i always hear the pure sound of my guitars + the distortion sound which has to compete against the raw sound.
      Without the raw guitar sound its too much fizzy/distortion ... meh
      Will do better next time :>

    I ve just ordered this one, to be perfectly honest i cant see what can go wrong, worst case scenario frets aren't leveled, you ll just need like 50 euros for a fret leveling to an expert.
    All other adjustments can easily be done by anyone without any special tool.
    If you change the pickups to lets say Fishman Tosins (and i will) you ll have an instrument of total cost 650 euro that will outperform any 8 string multiscale guitar on the market bellow 1400 euros.

    Hey!
    Great review, very direct and no-bullshit :)
    Today I found out about this guitar, I've been thinking of a 7 string multiscale for some time now.
    Have you had a chance to compare it with any other multiscale under 500€ - say Harley Benton or Ibanez?
    Compared to both of them Subzero look so much more attractive... I don't have an opportunity to check them at once, hence the videos...
    Again, great review!

    • @arthostheheretic
      @arthostheheretic  Před 3 lety +1

      I owned a 7 String Schecter(no multiscale) ( 660€ ) for two years but i sold it because it has "strange" string spacing and there was always ONE string ringing out due to grooves in my picking hand ... happily i dont have that prob with this guitar.
      my most expensive guitar is a ibanez RGIB6 and i had to invest over 300€ to be able to enjoy it .... long story ... not going to comment it further here
      i do actually own ... like 5 Harley Benton Guitars and i would say they have higher QC then this brand but they're far away from "buy & play" :D ( and its random like any other cheap guitar what you get )
      actually i would say, for a 7 String you wont need MultiScale because if you pick a 26.5 Scale and you're going to use a 9-42 set with a 56 B String then everything is fine.
      dont go below 26.5 Scale, a 56 B String was fine but i needed a .62 string for drop A and still it sounded a lil bit wobbly ... but thats my taste, i love it tight and more tension on strings :D

    Hey fellow German, I could live with the imperfections you observed. I ordered the 7 string and returned it twice. Now waiting for the third one hoping that it's fine. The first one had a loose fret and buzzed therefore a lot and a sensible knothole on the neck stripe along with some finish imperfections. The second one had the nut of the seventh string cut too deep causing buzz like hell and several spots with dirt and big scratches

      @@arthostheheretic Got the replacement. This time it is decent. No major flaws. Frets definitely need some polishing, one fret and is rough, strings are rusty. Several finish imperfections and in places sloppy binding. But overall it's ok and those things can be adressed or ignored.

  • @thestrummingcorner3322

    Just decided that i could buy one. Should i swap out the tuner, Mono rails and pickups? What could i keep? And is it possible to have a nice setup after afjustements? And recommendations?

    • @arthostheheretic
      @arthostheheretic  Před 3 lety +1

      As someone else said, he had to return it twice until he had a good one.
      So its basically a gamble.
      The first thing to swap out are the tuners in my opinion but maybe they improved them ...
      The mono rails bridge is perfect in my case, sits very good.
      Pickups: as mentioned in the vid, the bridge PU sounds very good, so i didnt changed them.
      If you take some time to adjust the two trussrods you can set up this guitar as you want, got very low string height and no dead spots, love this
      recommendations:
      take elixir optiweb 9 - 42 and a single 66 + single 80 string, best tension/sound/feeling :)

    Just got mine a couple days ago and I have to say, I'm not really satisfied: I am the only one thinking these guitars do NOT have stainless steel frets??? Right out of the box the frets are all tarnished...not a good sign...
    Now, apart from the usual quality issue (nut cut badly, some imperfections here and there on the fretboard and body) that can be acceptable for the price point, if this are normal frets sold as stainless steel I am very likely going to return it
