    It's easy for Liberians to integrate into African-American culture because the two are connected and share a common culture and history. The constitution was based off the United States. There are cities in Liberia named Greenville, Louisiana, New Georgia, Alabama Camp, and Virginia. There's a county there called Maryland County. They use the imperial system only one of three countries along with the US. So it's easy for Liberians to integrate into Black America just like it's easier for Black Americans to navigate Liberia than any other African country.

    I'm from SC. Those are our closest Gullah Geechee & Jew relatives in Africa. That is the Land that was bought and paid for freed slaves by the United States government... Ain't no colonization in bought land...Americo Liberians are still the true owners.. Leaving here and going to our place on the continent makes sense.
    We all use the GUAP COIN..We use it in Liberia as well as the United States. We become an economic block that neither government can overlook. That alone could give us economic liberation.

    Why aren't Afrodescendants of America claiming and investing in Liberia as a land we could repatriate and help our indigenous brothers develop?
    Liberia has a government similar to that of the United States. 🤔
    I believe that we should attempt to establish a relationship with the Liberian government.
    Should we, why or why not?

  • @magaretekwin3659

    Some Liberians, especially those that are descendents of freed slaves that returned to Liberia adjust faster to American society. Truth be told, some Liberians say those descendents of freed slaves, settled back in Liberia distinguish themselves from native African Liberians right there on Liberia, and tend to have been the ones in presidency and in economic control of Liberia. Those mostly are primarily the ones with American last names, though it's common in America to find most Liberians with European last names. That said, Liberians that are descendents of freed slaves assimilate faster into African American culture in America. Native Liberians might take more time to adjust, if ever to African American culture in America. That's what I have observed.

    • @Obsermeneh
      @Obsermeneh Před 3 lety +5

      The settlers came with those English European names and enforce it on the natives in the name of civilizing the natives. Like you rightly said, indigenous Liberians cultures is nowhere close to African Americans nor do we have anything in common or similarity. Whoever is pushing this agenda is a culture vulture or completely lost, cus we're not pushing for anything like this nor do we care. Because the history of Liberia always been twisted with so many inaccuracies just to favor the so called settlers. But that is about to change because we're in the process of rewriting the history of our country.

    Well, they feel tht way about Liberians as well. We’re unruly and undisciplined, which is a constant stereotype we as Liberians are faced with in the African community at large. Which again is sad considerin we’re more socially inclined, easily assimilated, adaptable than most Africans
    It’s unfortunate few rotten apples, much like AA communities have created beliefs tht is afar fetch ideals from what a lot of us represent. Only becoming open minded and judgment free can help with this. You have to meet stereotypes head on by becoming friends with people you think are so diff from you and get to know them for yourself because you might be pleasantly surprised by what you discovered
