- Rab have updated their successful Kinetic Alpine and it's quite different to the original. If it's climbing, scrambling or mountaineering then it is a very definite improvement due to its increased durability.

Got one - brilliant!
They really are, aren’t they?!
Great review! Can I ask what size the trousers and jacket are you’re wearing in the video?
I’m a medium in both. I’d say they’re true to size too. Hope that helps!
@@ukclimbingofficial awesome that’s a big help. Thanks :)
@@ObjectiveMedia Hope you get on well with them - I still use mine all the time.
@@ukclimbingofficial thanks I really appreciate your help and advice. Keep up the great climbing gear content 👍
I’m toying with this jacket & the Ladakh . I will be using them for dog walking in the hills & also want to use them for playing golf , which of the 2 jackets would suit ? Also are the pants suitable to wear as trousers & not over trousers
I think the Kinetic would suit you, particularly the trousers, which you could wear as normal trousers and not over trousers. Full Gore fabric could be slightly too much and these other jackets are extremely breathable and very waterproof for most uses other than Scottish winter or alpine climbing. At least two of our staff members wear Kinetic Alpine jackets on a regular basis!
@@ukclimbingofficial purchased the Ladakh jacket so think I’ll get the kinetic alpine pants
are these suitable for ice negative digit te/mixed climbs in negative temps?
The answer to this depends on a few factors. If you're heading up to Scotland I'd probably suggest using something a bit beefier, as I think you'd benefit from that bit of extra durability and added waterproofing within a Gore Tex Pro Shell. If you're heading somewhere drier and colder, then this could be quite an interesting option, as it's super stretchy, super breathable nature basically makes it feel like a soft shell with waterproof benefits. That said, it'd feel quite cool, but this'd be something you could remedy through good layering.
@@ukclimbingofficial im also considering the ascendor alpine pant looks like it is more beefier and more durable
