    I like the idea of the modified airbox instead of a pod filter. Pod filters give you dirty oil while the airbox still gives a cold charge with the protection of the cover

    • @trendkill777
      @trendkill777 Před 7 lety +3

      the filter he uses is an oil type cotton filter , the same as most pods on the market. You don't have an issue if you don't re oil the filter excessively.

    Hi, as Adam says, i think ST200 does not come LSD. But comes certainly with a different very interesting gearing. I can not put all things that come ST200, as gearing, because it's so expensive, only upgrade mp215 by Mountune and rare sway bar by Eibach for handling better.

    Just bought an ST200 and it looks like Ford have fitted a similar air box to the Mountune box but in plastic, the air box has the cold air feed at the bottom just like the Mountune box, the only thing I found was they had just used a paper air filter element, I have replaced this with a K&N panel filter. So you could fit the ST200 box and a performance filter on to the ST for probably less money than the Mountune box.

    • @AdamRainey

    I finally got hold of a used Mountune induction kit(airbox and hose,plus a red silicone hose too,fitted it yesterday poured down all day so not had a proper run yet with it fitted i'm not planning on the MP215 map as Adam the OP'er has said i too am not convinced it's worth the money as i want to go stage 2 i think but i have another 17 months warranty on my 2015 ST2 which is also why ive used Mountune kit stage1 only to keep my warranty and not have to remove parts for warranty and services at my dealer.
    @vicntez's find of the ST200 airbox, how can Ford copy Mountune's idea,at least it shows what Ford think of Mountune's induction kit to clone it on the top of the range ST200,the ST200 box and hose sure do look the same as any other fiesta ecoboost ST fit.

    • @AdamRainey
      @AdamRainey  Před 3 lety +3

      Hi Bas, there would never be enough water for it to be fully submerged as to have it sucking fully on water and even then the sucking force would not be strong enough to draw water all the way up vertically into the airbox. Think of it a bit like a bong - in the unlikely event of it being fully submerged in water, the water would simply act as an additional filter :)

I was wondering if you could use someone else’s handset to retune or is that not possible? I understand that you can buy the induction kit separately so doing this would make it a whole lot cheaper. 👍🏻

    Hey there!
    A car newbie here!
    So I got a Ford Fiesta 2010 which has all the ST goodies but only as far as the interior and exterior design goes, and the engine is a stock 1.6l 90hp diesel.
    So I was wondering what would be the things I could and should upgrade for a faster ride ?
    Also I really dislike the sound that the 90hp engine does and 90hp is kinda low so I was planning on getting it re-mapped to 135hp and getting a better exhaust, which will hopefully make the sound atleast a tad bit better, what do you think ?
    I don't have the budget to just buy a whole 200hp ST motor, so one thing at a time, in a good order would be appreciated!

    • @AdamRainey
      @AdamRainey  Před 8 lety

      Hi Terry, I don't have the remap - The 215 remap doesn't give a load of benefit beyond removing the overboost feature so I am waiting and plan on getting either the 230 or upcoming 265 upgrade (of course they require more hardware upgrades). So far the I like it - over stock the combination of the parts adds up to a few horses, the most important parts being the high flow air filter and probably the silicone hose for less restrictive air flow. The air box helps in this respect with the secondary feed, pulling cold air from where it is positioned so keeps air temps cooler. I initially had the mountune hose and K&N high flow air filter installed with the stock air box which was a good option when on a budget

    • @FalconXE302

      I would have to disagree... seen as I have recently had the MP215 fitted to my 2 year old ST here in Australia, the MP215 is a great update... easy to feel the responsiveness through all gears, especially second and third. Not sure what you mean by remove overboost... overboost is def still there after 20 seconds of full throttle. Its actually quite noticeable now seen as the car has so much more top end grunt... when the so seconds of overboost is over, and boost drops, you can easily feel it now. A stock ST was always virtually impossible to tell when the 20 seconds of overboost was up.
      The MP215 upgrade makes what was already a great street car into a car that is always egging you on the kick it in the pants...
      Go get the MP215 engine remap and then come back and let me know what you think... you won't be disappointed.... :-)

      It might depend on your insurer. Do some comparisons, see if you can specify MP215 as the model of the car instead of ST180 and see if that helps. It isn't something I have looked into much but some insurers are more funny about mods than others. Other factors can make them twitchy like age and even where you live. The ST200 also comes with a LSD, which would make the handling a bit better. You can install one on any ST for around £700 though.
      Something else you have to consider is the existing Mountune upgrades (and most other tunes) are NOT compatible with the ST200 as it has different gearing. So if your planning to tune it in future you will have more options on a normal ST.

    Can i mod the ST200? to more than 200ps?

    • @AdamRainey
      @AdamRainey  Před 7 lety +1

      Niklas Moll You already get more than 200ps on overboost which you get most of the time - 215ps. You can then get some more hardware and get stage 2 and stage 3 upgrades. Mountune do a 230ps kit and a 265ps kit

      Dreamscience are working on an upgrade for the Fiesta st, which will be sold through Evans Halshaw Ford dealers, so should be warranty friendly, they already have kits available for the Mustang and Focus rs. I am currently waiting to see what they are going to offer.

    Hello mate did you find any difference between stock and the mountune also any louder induction noise

    • @hydraflyer
      @hydraflyer Před 7 lety +1

      I have one fitted and there is more of a whoosh noise over stock. I'd say about 25% more. I couldn't hear it at stock but I can now so yeah it does give more induction noise.

    can you buy this airbox separate or is it just available as part of the 215 package?

    • @AdamRainey
      @AdamRainey  Před 7 lety

      You can buy it separately if you want but my opinion would be to get the 215 package, you wont regret it. Unless you plan on getting a remap from somewhere else

      Adam Rainey I was going to get the moutune air box and silicone hose and a peron or revo remap. I really don't want the noise of an IK.

      Ah ok cool. Go to the ST200 section on the mountune site if you want to buy one brand new
