- Coty Schock's incredible season reached a brick wall in the shape of Haiden Deegan last night, as an incident in Birmingham left him with an injury that'll halt his progress. Here, he recaps all that happened.

Coty is a very polite man but he mentioned once our cameras cut that the impact with Deegan broke his collarbone, which was fractured and weakend from a crash in Daytona.
You’re full of it. It wasn’t even the same shoulder. You’re searching for clout. Shock crashed in the whoops in Daytona and decided to sit in the middle of slippery whoops checking his RIGHT shoulder (for some reason he thought that was smart) and Seth ran right into him. That was a brutal hit. If anything, that’s what caused his injury. Deegan gave him a little bump and Shock leaned down into him. He had zero intentions of trying to make that inside rut before he saw Deegan. Even if Deegan wasn’t there, there was no way he was making it. That’s what moto is sometimes, you place your bike in between someone to make the pass. Everyone wants to jump on every little thing that goes wrong. If you want a rule for every single tiny thing, go watch golf. This is moto and it’s badass.

Only this day in age our society is in a dark place, where only negative things seem to be what they want to post to get them to the million or higher status.
If he was out there racing with his body in that condition then kudos too him. He knew the consequences but to point the finger and blame it on someone else isn't right, it is motocross, it is dangerous, it is a brutal sport.
His decision, don't blame it on anyone, I don't care who the rider was, it could be a privateer.
These people should, and could , have more dignity than to post this.

Man if someone does something wrong, we should call them out, but that doesn’t mean to you have to spread hateful things. Only truth. But yes, this sport is dangerous. I remember hearing RC during broadcasts when a rider put an extremely aggressive pass on another, and RC would say “that was aggressive but he had to do that”.

We were at the Birmingham SX, so watching Cody live kick ass in his heat race was a treat. He was so fast & looked so good in the corners in front of our section. I never paid much attention to him before last night, but seeing how positive & professional he acted after getting punted into a huge freezing cold mud puddle on the last corner, we became fans. We’ll be pulling for Cody the rest of the season if he’s able to race. That dude is a stand up guy w/ integrity & good character. Nothing close to what Douchgen acts like or will ever. That kid is a 🤡, I don’t care how old he is.

Come on really? That incident with Coty was all Cotys fault. Haiden was holding true and it was Coty who moved over on Haiden as he was late to try and block his line. There have been so many posts where people are mad that Haiden cut off Hammaker on the first turn, and are also mad that Haiden had an incident with Coty but somehow are mad at Haiden for Coty trying to cut off Haiden.

Hammaker incident was a racing incident what Haden did in the track wasn’t wrong it’s what he done off track that is questionable going back to the pits and trying to start shit at the kawi pit. There is no way shock was at fault that was totally deegan being a douche
That’s the difference between coming from humble beginnings, having a good attitude when times are tough, and spoiled brat that’s never experienced any adversity. Although he’s talented and “works hard” he’s been handed everything and expects everything handed to him including this championship 😊

He cut down on young rider going for a pass. He knew it was going to happen and admits it. He owes him nothing. He knew better. He rode off the track on two wheels so it's not like it was some massive clean out, people are just bitches about racing incidents these days.
Coty Schock was killing it in outdoors a few years ago when I first heard his name. Of course he's capable of consistent podiums. Solid rider for sure!

No pain no gain. He found out later during a medical checkup. My stepdad finished a regional championship race for a 125 novice class with a broken foot. And he won lol. Granted it's novice but racing any class with a broken foot would suck bad.

Broke my collarbone a couple years back. Thought it was just dislocated, I finished a 15 min moto and loaded my bike in the back of my truck. Didn't know it was broken until the next day when I got it xrayed
I broke my collarbone and separated my AC joint but didn't notice right away because my broken ribs hurt so much!

Kid is obviously upset because his got a lot of exceptions on him unfortunately things around him haven’t gone well. Wrist injury his fault but first corner crash then Seth running into the back of him is unfortunate nothing is going what his expecting when putting in the work he expects to be better because of how well he went last year
True the kid was probably the odds favorite to win the title before the season started. He hasn’t shown top tier speed and it looks like the French man is a force to be reckon with.

Seems Like a Great Guy--- I am now a Fan of his for how he has been racing so well--But also how he has handled this Incident with some class . Hope he can get thru this upcoming ace and then get to the 4-5 week break and heal up some. Also hoping to see him in that outdoor MX season.

Deegan is a punk really if anyone even touches him on the track he’s flipping them off showing what douche he is following them back to their pits and trying to confront them and then he pulls that BS for seventh. He needs to grow up and act like a professional racer not some thug.

@donworryboudat , I haven't seen a lot that can hold onto that elusive red plate. In this sport that is a very complicated thing to do, when they can that is a win in itself in motocross.
That's why I love the sport, it is like the weather.

Deegan should have been penalized more than just 2 positions. He passed at least 3 or 4 or more riders during his off track excursion.

I have always been a fan of Coty thanks for talking to him no one over the past two years every said anything much about him. But rider like Coty make MX & SX so much better. NO one Finger no running to any pits and making a mess over silly stuff. But rider like Coty and more rider like him make this sport so much better. THANKS

A collarbone can break very easily .. what im told from a number(so many) of my friends who broke theirs after falling off a bike is if you just put your arm out to brace yourself in a fall, which most of the time of course people will tend to do to protect their head, then the collarbone can break without it even actually directly hitting anything but whats most common is just from force coming up through your arm... if you are young and have a fast metabolism then you can heal up in just a few weeks if its not a complete break.. but if it is a complete break they can screw a mending plate in and then it can also heal up just as fast but you might want another surgery to remove the plate after its healed as well ... i think he could be racing again very soon but a concern is if he falls again on an already compromised collarbone then alot worse damage can occur even more easily..
Cody was racing Krock race in New Jersey and was in last place and he won the race. Awesome rider.

Who did he hurt? The Schock incident was totally Cotys fault. He mistimed trying to block the inside from Haiden and he could have caused them both to get hurt because of being late to block Haiden.

It’s funny to see all of the Haiden fan boys on here. Dude, he got a lucky win proclaiming loud and proud welcome to the “Danger Zone” since that win he has no podium finishes. RC and everyone said it’s his time, he has yet to race from behind and pass those leaders. If he’s not in the lead from the beginning, he struggles and cannot pass them.

He is not riding for a small team he is riding star Yamaha. If you want to be seen as the main event star, you gotta win and get podiums not throw tantrums when things don’t go your way.
