      @@lucymcadonald2067 Hi Lucy, no no, staying safe at home ;) this was all shot last summer. Have adjusted the title to include 2019. Also added a travel disclaimer saying that it is not a recent video and that we are staying safe at home. It just took me a while to put the video together. With more time at home, I had the time I needed to work on my travel vlogs. No excuses ;) Whether it be dreaming of a future trip or simply traveling in your mind to pretend like you’re on vacation, I hope you enjoy this video and it inspires you for your next trip whenever that may be! I can't wait until we can travel freely again! xx

      I have been going to Paros for the last 10 years. All over Greece for 45 years before that. I usually stay for around 3 months at a time and I am out and about almost every day. There are so many places to go and see. Like many islands the best are away from the tourist areas. Nice little video. Both Paroikia and Naoussa are too busy for me , I prefer the smaller quieter places. Obviously I have many local Greek friends on Paros which has helped me over the years. A lot of the tourist places in Paroikia and Naoussa are owned and run by people from Athens who head back there in the winter. I love the island and have traveled almost every inch of road. I understand you can't see much in two days. Keep up the traveling, take a trip to Zanzibar, it is great. After Paros this summer my next trip is to Nosy-Be hopefully in December. Covid willing. I love Loukoumades.

      First time I traveled to Paros, as an archaeology student, was 1981. Believe it or not, there were still local families living in the old part of Naoussa. Now, look at it, it is just an upscale tourist trap. Sad. I cherish the summers I spent digging with the team around Naoussa Bay. Never had a down quiet moment. Tourists looked bored and seemed to envy us. Met some great people from all over Europe, dug up a lot of artifacts and learned a lot. It beats being an influencer. :-P

    Hello! First time watcher, as you were recommended on my home page after my Paros search. Love this video and saved it for future reference! We are heading to Greece in May and may choose Paros as one of our islands. Would you recommend staying in Naoussa over Parikia? I'm SO torn. May is in the shoulder season so my one concern is that Naoussa won't be as open since it's a smaller town. How did the two compare in types of things to do? Thanks for making this video! So helpful.

    • @SophiesTravelSecrets
      @SophiesTravelSecrets  Před 2 lety

      Hi Erin, so glad you discovered my channel! Both area are good so you really can't go wrong. If you're there for a few days, you could split up your stay between both? I preferred Naoussa because there was a bit more going on with chic bars / restaurants. But Parikia was very charming with smaller, more quaint boutiques. It honestly depends what type of stay you're looking for. Both areas are only 20 minutes away from each so you still have the option to experience both. ;)

    Paros definitely one of our favourite islands....you need more than 2 days to enjoy this island though. Go in the shoulder season, less tourists, slightly cheaper and still great weather. Jump on ferry and explore Anti Paris, great cave to see and wonderful countryside.
    Naxos also short ferry hop away......

      Hi Ayca, it looks like some of my first comment got cut off? Strange..At the popular bars / clubs in Mykonos, drinks average around 20 euros and in Paros, drinks average around 10 euros give or take depending on where you go. Hotels were definitely cheaper in Paros for the same quality of rooms. As for food, we got the lobster pasta that you saw in the video for around 40 euros. If we had ordered this in Mykonos or Santorini, it would have been crazy expensive! Both islands are amazing. I would love to hear about your trip when you get back! Let me know where you went! xx

      Hi Jacob, my favorite was Kolymbithres Beach because of the beautiful rock formations. The water was crystal clear! If I had to pick, I would definitely say go there. We really liked Santa Maria Beach Bar too if you're looking for a beach club / bar vibe. Key tip for the Greek Islands is that it gets windy; so it's always best to speak to your hotel or a local about the best beaches to go on that day. Some beaches will be more protected from the wind than others so def something to keep in mind. Would love to hear about your trip once you're back and if you visited any of the places I mentioned in my video! Have a great trip! Paros is awesome!
