What a lovely picture! I am an hedgehog rescuer here in Michigan and also an artist. I would like to know what kind of pencils you use and what do you use to sharpen them. And what is the technique for doing quills. That is the one thing that is stopping me from drawing hedgehogs with color pencil. I use pastels or pencil. Any help you could give me would be gladly appreciated.

Do you use a final fixative?
Love it Amie. Q, what is that first colour you start with the fur? Is it an of white or a light grey, or would it even matter, I've bought myself some FC polychromos but could only afford the smaller tin (I think 34 pencils). Can't wait to try them, I usually only do graphite but gotta move on. Great video, thanks
It’s a warm grey 1 Polychromos =D I tend to always start with that, it makes a great base for most things

Wow Amie! This is incredible! One question- you often start with a light pencil sketch but then appear to rub it out before adding coloured pencil- can you still see a faint outline to guide you or do you somehow just remember where details go?! Absolutely LOVE 💕 the hedgehog 😍
Yea, I erase it so I can just about see it :) that way it doesn’t affect the coloured pencil, especially if it’s a light colour 👍
