I may not be a pro at anything but I'm DAMN good at a lot of things! I don't know what I meant to do here but I know overall, I simply want to inspire someone today to believe in themselves tomorrow. Please don't take your old videos down! I still reference them when I'm DIYing different things. I started the cross body planner purse. I had to put it to the side for a bit because I confused myself. I'm attempting to do the cross body purse and denim jeans repurpose videos in one. 🤞🏾

First, please don't delete your videos. I binge-watched your DIY planner videos about 10m months ago and they got me interested in decorative planning and it has literally changed my life. Second, I bought the clear zipper bag for my daughter to keep her mini happy planner and some pens in, it fits great. And lastly, you could totally make a travelers notebook out of the coupon organizer, just punch some holes and add elastic, it would be perfect with built-in pockets and dashboards.

When I was just starting out years ago it was a bit disheartening because I was on such a tight budget and didn’t know where or how to start. I learned so much from your videos and still refer back to them. It’s a really great place for someone on a budget or just starting out 😊👍

Fyi ... the shoe polish will move color. In art class we used the shoe polish for collage. We drew a picture, filled the drawing with magazine cut outs, outlined with white glue for a resist let rub shoe polish and it distorts the image. Granted it is magazine but it could do it to other printed materials so do a test.
Make sure you buff the polish off or polish may transfer.
If you never seen Kelly Barlows creations channel you might enjoy it. She does lots of DIY farm house projects with dollar tree items.
She likes to use the liquid shoe polish as a stain. She mixes the brown snd black. The brown has a bit of a red tint.
She has better luck at finding that polish at the 99 cent store I believe. We don't have one wher I live but DT will carry the liquid occasionally
Someone else mentioned her. I haven’t seen the liquid polish before but I’ll definitely keep an eye out now!🤔🤔🤔

💡IDEA / Suggestion💡
Put a teaspoon of the shoe polish into a dixie cup & thn add in the eye shadow (use a toothpick to scratch off sum eye shadow crumbs into cup)
THEN combine them_ perhaps even try melting it with lighter OR hair dryer OR 5 seconds in microwave.....👾LET IT COOL IN FRIDGE & THEN TEST IT and see if it gives paper th dark color distress effect u want.....

Dollar tree has the travel size kit of that shoe polish that comes with the brown and black with a cloth. Very creative

Please please, please do not remove those very classic videos. As far as I know, you are the First Lady to show us how to use the plastic chopping mats from the dollar store. Tfs all those videos you worked so hard on.
It antiques anything! Try it on a brown paper bag,wad it up and then rub it with the shoe polish! And it does dry!
Tear the edges of paper then add the shoe polish too!!!
Oh yeah you can make the paper look like an old scroll. I’ve done it with the ribbon and dollies too

You may want to check Wal-Mart in the shoe dept for different color polishes. I used to take a glass bottle or jar. Cut up random small pieces of masking tape to stick all over the jar. Then I would cover the tape with the polish. Then I would decoupage a picture or napkin on the bottle.

Please tell me that I’m not the only one who can smell the shoe polish? My dad was a Navy vet and he polished all of our shoes into mirrors, they were she shiniest shoes in school. But the shoe polish scent, I LOVED it, now of course it takes me back and I think of dad. I still love the scent of shoe polish.

I am nearly 70 years old and I am going to the Dollar Tree in a couple of weeks. I haven't been to a dollar store in years and years. I've got a driver lined up that can haul me in my power wheelchair. I so enjoy your video and I was able to add some items to my Dollar Tree list. I am so pumped to go to the Dollar Tree. Okay I know everyone has said it but please don't delete the old planner videos 😂 I still use those to this day! I reference them all the time to remember how to do stuff hahaha
I also picked up the chalk pen (2). I like it on washi, plastic, and stickers but directly on paper it can soak through even making holes. It is kind of thick as well. It adds an interesting contrasting chalky texture over shiny washi in addition to the color contrast.

Black should be the most popular shoe polish color to find. I think a popular brand name for them is maybe KIWI. I remember seeing them at Kmart years ago.
I made planner covers using the shopping totes but I seemed mine out for the holidays in the clear little tote bags you got I got two of them and I sold mine together it helps for crafting on the go nothing too big but something small or my newest ones that I got are for some basic planning materials I want to keep with me
I can’t sew soooooooo I might have to come up with something else. 😂 Well I can but only in emergency situations because I don’t have the patience. lol

I'm soooo jelly of the "planner people world"! Lol. I'm 50 and am now disabled so I pretty much don't have anything to plan. Bahaha. Well, there's my one or two Dr appts every month or two and I write people's bdays in my calendar but there's really not much as far as "planning" goes. I DO keep a pretty calendar on my side of the bed where I keep my appointments written down and then I also keep one in my purse that basically says the same exact thing but for in case I'm not home and I need to either LOOK at something or ADD something. But I'm sooooo all about pretty paper, stickers, folders, I DO have a slight "pen/marker hoarding" situation going on but really ANY AND ALLLL office supplies. I LOVE office supplies {but pretty ones}.... However EVERYTHING I HOARD, lol, I do it in a very organized manner. I'm #ADHD with a teeeeny touch of ocd.... But I HAVE to be or I'll NEVER remember anything OR be able to FIND anything. Like all my zillions of different crafting things are MOSTLY in clear containers and/or zip lock baggies. "out of sight out of mind" TOTALLY does NOT work for me UNLESS it's something I use like every single day and/or I can put a label on it. And labels aren't always keyoot, depending on what it's on, etc... Sooo, I'm depending on you, darlin, lol to help me figure out how or what I could possibly need or use a planner thing for. I had a beauty shop with hair, nails, tanning, massage, etc..... for like 15 years plus a daughter who was LITERALLY in EVERY sport, cheer, dance, dirt bikes, you name it so I LIVED by my "appointment book".... But back then, the only thing other than like an appointment book was what I think they called a "Day Planner" and basically were for like students. There CERTAINLY wasn't an entire community of planner stuff! Now I fit into that category of people you referred to earlier in the video about being on a super tight budget since disability doesn't pay $hit. Lol but even if I weren't on THAT tight of a budget, I'm just CHEAP. Lol. Plus I, too, get some strange thrill out of finding uses for things TOTALLY other than what they were originally intended for. {I loved watching your video from a long time ago when you were fixing up your pretty pink craft room {I'm 1000% a pink girl, but I MOSTLY love pale pink}. I loved how you and the hubster came up with the awesome "lazy susan" with the marbles and stuff. OK. I gotta shuddup or I'll end up farrrr down a rabbit hole... Lol #ADHD.... 😂 🤣 XO my fellow Texan! 😘

Shoe polish is great for staining paper.
My Dollar Tree only carries the black shoe polish. If your husband polishes his work boots he may have some of the Kiwi brand polish. We always have black on hand because my husband polishes his duty boots.
That's what I was going to suggest. I was even surprised that she didn't know how the little lever worked to pop off the lid, because I was sure she had seen his Kiwi somewhere.
Hubby must keep all his work gear..... at work.🙂
He actually has an antique shoe shiner step box that he keeps his supplies in. I guess I just never paid attention. I love that tittle lever though. So smart. lol
