1999. Never heard of QOTSA before. Went to the Casbah in San Diego to see Nebula. QOTSA headlined. Decided to stay. They opened with this song. They made that one chord intro rock out so hard it blew my mind. Fan ever since.
Very cool. Would have loved to see the original lineup.
So hard...have a fun!!!
The brilliance of QOTSA is their lack of promotion. It's like a secret we're always sharing- sort of.
I saw them in New York City in 2002. Excellent show.
Can't wait for the new album
I still remember the first time I heard this. Totally hypnotic!
When was that?
@@WhyTheHorseface five days ago
I have it on once or twice a month as a pallet cleanser for the ears …..tuff as F
Same here!
But it was probably the copious bongs that did it.
Porra! Eu também!!
Queens of the Stone age and Deftones are all I'm listening to even 20 years after their earlier albums were released
You and I exactly on the same boat 😈🤍✨
YES!!!
I remember getting Deftones CD’s sent to me when I was a college DJ almost THIRTY years ago!!
Moreno - Homme collab -- make it happen universe
@@Swashbuckler9x one more passenger here on the boat
We were fortunate enough to support QOTSA on their first UK tour. They opened their set every night with this. They kicked ass. Great band, great memories!
Damn!
I need to know if Josh was cool
@@JBugsBEER They all were, and so were the crew. 🙂
@@JBugsBEERI’ve met the band , Josh is cool 🎸
this track is so ... simple ... but so different and brilliant as well.
They actually sound like they're from another place, another time, another planet
... fuck ... so good
High Desert Rock is the best rock.
This song is mind-blowing.
Guitars sound amazing & warm
It's good but I wouldn't call it mind-blowing. It's literally just a pedal tone riff with basic accompaniment and monotone singing. Works well for the song, but nothing we haven't heard before.
@@a.n.t.94 You read my mind
One of my favorites is their song infinity on the heavy metal 2k soundtrack... horrible movie but amazing soundtrack...
@@a.n.t.94 it's not the technical aspect he is referencing. It's that primitive dna we have for amazing riffs. QOTSA is one of the best at reaching it. I dislike many of their songs but this and others like the Misfit Love intro really nail it.
QOTSA, Kyuss, Melvins, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Acid Bath, Nirvana, Fu Manchu, CKY, Helmet, Clutch, L7, Prong, Local H... All I need.
Don't forget Captain Fartball
TOOL?! 😤🤘
DEFTONES?!😔🤘
That is a great assessment so versatile
Agreed needs Deftones on that List
I refuse to believe this is turning 25 years old next year! Still sounds so fresh!
It’s timeless
The desert preserves everything in cycles.
LYRICS
Who are you girl?
Who are you boy?
Bet I know what you're up to
Can I come along?
Your home number on the wall
I just had to call, had to
I'm not the only one
Who will run with a knife
Open up your eyes
Open up your room
Open up your arms
One, six, two, seven, eight
Two, six, three, seven, eight, nine
Where's your daddy now?
I heard he ran away
Who are you girl?
'Cause I'm so bored with myself
Anyway, anytime and any place
I'll just hang around
Open up your eyes
Open up your room
Open up your arms
One, six, two, seven, eight
Two, six, three, seven, eight, nine
Open up your eyes
Open up your room
Open up your arms
Open up your door
Open up your eyes
Open up your room
Open up your arms
Please bring this back to the live show on a regular basis. It's too good
Yes!
Austin City Limits
Bring Nick back too....
One of they're finest records.
I think Joshua needs to get back to his roots and make a dirty , raw album.
Get grohl and Oliveri back and get a producer/engineer like Albini and give everyone a proper slap in the face😐
R.I.P. Lannegan.
Albini and Homme would be a vibe...
Mark lannegan?? Has he died??? The guy from The Gutter Twins too? I’ve got some googling to do….
Oh daaamn so he did die, had no idea. Saturnalia’s one of my favourite albums ever. Rip Mark indeed
100% mate 🤟
It would be epic. Someone tell this to Joshua, please...
This band is in my top 5
The band is easily in top 2, and let me tell you, it's not number 2
This band is in my top 1!
It's in my Top 1!
@@rufusonemamzaho4011 I feel that deep in my soul
Top No.1
Another amazing track. I love the chorus of this song "Open up your eyes, open up your room, open up your arms, open up your door"
My first qotsa album was rated R, I remember seeing this in the shop a few weeks later and picked it up. Still Tremendous.
Same. The Lost Art of Keeping a Secret was my gateway song and I bought Rated R that week, then I quickly started buying their other albums.
Damn when this came up on my notifications I thought they dropped new music. Love this song though.
🤞😊 💙
Me too. LOL
They must be soon….
One of their many best songs! Still get nostalgic from seeing this on Anthony Bourdain’s show in the desert, such a good episode!
one of the first QOTSA songs I heard, been in love ever since
I remember hearing this song before and after many terrible decisions, I would never take back any of them
Honestly, if you asked me to take the ethos of QotSA and boil it down to a single sentence, the above post would do pretty much perfectly.
nice pfp
@@TurtleGamers1 been reading Chainsaw man since issue 1 in Mangastream, Pfp is Makima
@@kanteishiva824 I haven't been keeping up to date with part 2 but I remember reading like 30 chapters initially, stopping and then binge-reading it all when it was finished. Amazing manga. 10/10.
Yo let's do some coke after some shots, while we all listen to QOTSA, forget about the next day 🎉
This song is so easy, I learned it first time, but so effective. That riff is iconic, Joshua Homme really is a genius!!!
this is the best guitar sound ever
Absolutely. Josh Homme has my favorite guitar sound ever and it's almost impossible to recreate.
A c chord never sounded so great 🙏
@@VinnieDaidoneGuitar get an old ampeg Vtx-22/vt-40 with a treble booster with a humbucker guitar and your there. You just have to crank the amp to ear splitting levels.
It’s crazy how I was listening to this last night driving home from Palm Springs and then all a sudden all these reissues drop!
Bruh, I jam out to this too but I live somewhere else in the desert. So proud these guys are from here
This is the best rock n roll band in the world now. Period
Dad rock now. Embarrassing that there are no great young rock bands coming through. Still Foo Fighters and these guys. That's not good.

not at all mate, not even close. they are cool, yeah, lol, I only like this song of them actually...LOL, but it is really cool. I m a guitar player myself, i dig the riffs

Incredible song
Thanks for the remaster and upload
Best band in the world!
No doubt!
Yes, that's right.
Still simply one of the absolute best, beast of a track.
Damn... This song still give goosebumbs today.
Thanks Josh \m/
i was like 13 when i discovered Kyuss and one month later the video for Feel Good Hit was released. I didn't know it was the same fucking guitar player and I love those bands to the bone still today. Cannot wait to receive thier reissue of the first record.
What a great song. One of the very few bands that I must see live.
The only song you'll ever need. ❤
Ah, Destruction Derby Arenas used this as replay soundtrack, such a great game and made me fell in love with Queens.
So nostalgic! Love it!
Incredible song, this album blew me away the first time I heard it. What a a band
Open up your eyes
Open up your room
Open up your arms
My dad used to listen to this song all the time when I was a kid and it freaked the shit out of me, the guitar sounded so weird and scary to me at the time but now I fucking love it
I miss seeing you guys live. Please give us tour soon, I beg of you
...and a new album! 🙏🏼
But I'd "settle" for a new TCV album 😁
@@Jimmy1982Playlists lol yeah "settle"

@@tonymoran7938 bless you ☺ I now have hope. Appreciate the heads up! Thought I'd have to be a creep and show up to eavesdrop desert sessions in production for some kind of fulfillment
was not expecting them to suddenly rerelease all of these on their CZcams channel. Sick!!
Must be a new album coming out soon.
That they opened with this last night was the most transcendent experience of my life.
Queens rocking the Shwiggity can't believe
Brings back memories. Amazing song
No matter how much I play this song it never gets boring coz it’s so infectiously groovy and really heavy, like a cross between Black Sabbath and ZZ Top!!!
Best opening for an album ever!
Barely got into QotSA about 5 years ago. This album is the last cd i bought soon after. It helped me through some bleak times. ✌️&❤️💛💚
Yes it’s a pretty cool song I’ve been following y’all since your other band but I like how you came out of the shadows and became the lead singer way to go🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Uma das melhores, thank you guys ❤
Holy shit. I've been a QOTSA fan for a while, but never really listened to their first album. Then this banger comes on shuffle, and here I am hearing this song I haven't heard in years since playing Destruction Derby Arenas on my PS2. All these years I thought this was an original track for the game, never even occurred to me that it could have been from one of my favorite bands.
yeah this is it right here chief. This one. thanks for the sick track i can blast my whole shift
great day to revisit whole qotsa discography
We need a new album. I'm ready .....ppppppp please@!!

Oh God! I'm listening now this vinyl, the red version with the cover by Mark Gabor, THIS COVER, and CZcams suggests me this song! Double win! Great album.
Heard this tune as a teenager. Loved it instantly. Wanted their second album so bad I got a paper round but after working a week I was still a quid short so I quit. True story.
Great times for the Queens to be back. We need this. Thanks JH and Co. for this. #QOTSA
First time hearing this song and love it
I've always loved this song!
What a song/album👌
They played this the first time in since 2018 at Portland OR! I was at front row from Dean and Troy for this! What a special night it was!
HOLY SHIT THIS IS AMAZING
This isn't a new song. It's from their 1998 self-titled debut.
@@JamesGilbert_ I know, I’m talking about the reissue.
Seeing QOTSA again this summer in Toronto, I hope they play Regular John! One of their greatest songs!
Consistency and greatness.
“Recipe for the perfect road trip: a nice car, the wide open roads of the desert... and some good music.” -Anthony Bourdain.
This riff is trippin dragons without getting stoned
I don’t listen to an album through all the time but I did listen to this album through a couple
Absolute classic. I still listen to this album frequently.
I literally just heard this song for the first time on Spotify maybe 7 hours ago and this video just got uploaded 17 hours ago!
I jammed this in early 2001, driving through the Nevada desert. When I passed through Reno, I was about halfway through.
I've been on a QOTSA binge and nope this is still their best album.
Best album ever! I love all their albums but this will always be my favorite!
The OG cover is iconic tho.
The song that defines Stoner Rock.
i thank destruction derby for introducing this song to me as a kid :)
I’m so happy they brought back this mix. The new mix is technically good and all but this just captures the raw desert energy
One of the best rock songs of all time - no questions asked bra
still one of the best song ever written
Anthony Bourdain episode with Josh Homme opened with this song.
RIP Tony
Finally I found this song! It´s been in my head for years, since the legendary episode of ´No Reservations´ with Josh Homme. Can´t think of a better track to start a road trip. The beginning of the song resembles a car accelerating fast after turning the ignition. Epic!
Rock & Roll you can meditate to
Genius groove
In loving memory of Frank Kozik..RIP my friend
great fuckin album........ watched qotsa twice..... concert posters still on my walll..... that was 20 years ago. long live qotsa
Remember hearing this on Jackass, Bam always had good taste
So glad to hear this song live in Adelaide absolute banger
Whenever I wanna listen to this song, I hit this link. Not only because that moving graphic is sick, but because I just feel weird looking at the album cover this 😂
i remember hearing this song and Qotsa first time while watching viva la bam's episode on mtv when i was teenager. (It played only few secs on that episode.) I was immediately hooked because it sounded so different, "raw" and unique.
The best QOTSA album. FINALLY!!!!
I don't know why man's calling me family all of a sudden.
Started listening QOTSA from Songs For The Deaf, stayed for the first album
Beautiful.
First time I've heard this song. Brilliant riff.
Fantastic. The bridge from Kyuss.
Simply perfect🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥❤
