Update 2022 - age 41, I've finally got a decent job that is sports related - working in Digital Marketing for a sports brand in Wrexham

    That was informative! Thank you!
I was thinking of going to Loughborough to study sports science, coaching and physical education. However, I am still in doubt because its very expensive.
Would you recommend any other university which would teach in a much more integrated way? More practical classes, teachers taking interest in students, etc?

It's difficult to say as I've only been to Loughborough and Chester.
Loughborough has opened a lot of doors for me - having a first from Loughborough and now qualifications and experience in digital marketing for example, got me lots of job interviews with online fitness companies - for example.
I definitely enjoyed Chester University a lot more - at the end of the day though, experience is what matters the most I think when it comes to getting that first job.
For example - when I was working in a call centre, I studied and got a post grad diploma in digital marketing but couldn't get a job. So I did a lot of volunteer work and that was what ultimately got me a career in digital marketing.
I'm guessing it's the same for everything Sport Science related. Experience will count the most, but if a job does require a degree in Sport Science, then Loughborough will always jump out at employers and recruiters because of the prestige and history. But if you want to be a Sport Scientist, volunteer to help out local clubs etc.
I'm not sure how much tuition fees are these days, but I'm going to recommend that my kids either do a professional course (not sure that's the right term) e.g. accounting, engineering, physiotherapy or law - or study online to become a developer or something techy. Although I doubt they'll listen to me!
      Hope that helps!
Also - I'm 40 now and thinking of making a 'comeback' to the fitness space as i can charge more for my services. So maybe I will make good use of my degree. I'm currently doing a yoga teacher training course, as I've done a little research and apparently there's a local shortage, especially of male teachers. Also, big demand for male therapists, but dont want to pay to go back to uni again!

      @@mmafanuk Thank you. That helps.
Also, if you are looking for some good yoga teacher training courses, you could definitely check kevalyadham and swami vivekananda institute of yoga. both of them are in India.
I am from India, and honestly the courses there are much more experience-filled and cheap.
