Notes:
-Epithets are solely based on actions within the episode.
- William’s was probably the hardest this time around since he didn’t have any real standout moments, but the two moments he did have both involved him quickscoping a target from a fair distance and dealing serious damage with a flintlock pistol.
- Duros’ had a few elements: rising from the “dead”, “taming a dragon”, and being a damn wholesome man. I initially wanted another Arthurian allusion, but ultimately settled with “saint”; short and sweet.
- Verona saved his teammates, admitted and faced his fear of fire, and killed “Hubris”. I wanted a name that contrasted hubris and this was the most badass I could come up with.
- Ragnar has gone full nordic berserker, bear transformation and all. Between this and his “revival” he certainly deserves his place under Odin. Plus, I’ve already used “grizzly” as an epithet.
- Pearl’s name hints to her “cursed” nature, and how she would (probably) be viewed as a liability by her parents, and how she views her power as not being worth the cost. It also evokes the image of a pyre, hinting at her flame-based abilities. Also, alliteration.

Well, the leader is a lieutenant, which is a fairly high rank in the marines, so i think it would make sense if they had a harder time than they did.

Was a marking experience that toughened them to the point they can handle marine ships on their own (last battle was supposed to last way longer). Also why and how did Pearl get the same fruit as Kaido, or there are other dragon type fruits and Kaido has the Cinese model while Pearl has the European model of the Dragon Ancient Zoan fruit?

Theory: Rustage said that someone among the crew comes from one of the islands on the map, he also said that Pearl is the princess of the Tarako kingdom. Pearl also said that Duros reminds her of someone, so what if Duros came from the Tarako kingdom and used to be Pearl’s guard?

Another theory, I believe that captain marrow killed Veronas father, because he said that his father was a marine and was killed, and he took the letter of captain ,arrow saying to his father that he burned down his friends house when he thought no one was looking.

This was an amazing session. The near death experience already had me anxious as heck. The fruit was as expected, and I'm glad it went to Ragnar. I guess Hubris did kinda get jobbed like Fullbody did.

Ok now my points on this chapter:
1: william and verona literaly save the party at the last second even damaging atom really well it was great but they kind of keep it lowkey
2: first i thought they are giving the devil fruit to the almost blind dude but then the smell thing made it out to be the best option plus the eyepatch bear
3:everyone spoke like true op characters it was aweasome
4: last battle was soo great that it made them seem like they got such moral boost that they were the epitome of cool and you skipped 1 turn of pearl but it was ok

Verona is basically an assassin.
William can shoot accurately with a damn flintlock pistol.
Duros is basically Bastion from Overwatch.
Ragnar is now a grizzly bear filled with scars and an eye patch while holding a axe as large as himself.
And Pearl is a fucking dragon.

Sometimes it takes a couple sessions for the characters to come into their own and for the players to get comfortable roleplaying and stuff. I think we have all seen that here. The first two sessions were good D&D, this session is GREAT D&D. I was hooked from start to finish and I can't wait for the next episode!

So, tips and tricks:
There might be a "Death Saving Throw" on your character sheet, that you can also press to roll it, depending on the program you are using.
The next are more dependant on GMs, but I'll just state it as written:
- A nat 20 on a Death Saving Throw actually heals the Character by 1 HP, meaning he is ready to fight again (more or less)
- You can try to stabilize a comrade by making a Medicine Check DC 10 (this way, you don't have to rely on healing spells or medipacks or even too much luck), success means you have stabilized him NOT healed. That might become important later on if one drops again.
- ... You can knock out a creature in melee combat instead of killing... Don't know whether you want to or not though...
I hope it helps. Watching Ragnar and Duros almost die and Verona just standing there was kind of... Terrifying

Based on the way they explained power levels, at best these guys are the equivalent of Buggy's crew from back in the day but they have nothing on Kuro's crew... I mean every one of those fodder pirates could effortlessly smash boulders with their bare hands. There's no way they're beating a devil fruit user like that marine guy unless he's weaker than Chopper.
The whole vid in a nutshell Pearl unlocks serious PTSD and Duros has insulted the captain many times and Ragnar can turn into a bear now.

The fruit would be called the bear-bear fruit: model grizzly. Zoan type devil fruits that deal with a type of animal that have multiple kinds are split up into models, like kaku's cow-cow fuit: model giraffe, or Robb lucci's cat-cat fruit: model leopard, or Dalton's cow-cow fruit: model bison. So if you wanted to you could get another model bear fruit for Duros and have him be a large armored bear man with increased strength and endurance so he can wield bigger weapons and shields, be faster in his armor, or more terrifyingly turn into a huge armored bear to charge down an enemy formation.

In my experience its best to have a group discussion about this and change course if you have to, gotta make sure everyone's having fun
Having a token Lawful(ish) Good guy amongst a band of Neutral Evil scum can be quite fun! Seeing him be blissfully friendly and naively believing William when he went to "help" that old man was hilarious for instance.
I like how Ragnar tackles his awful perception with his new sense of smell, it puts him roughly on par with the rest of the crew
I loved watching this on twitch. You could see the inconsistency of the chat, it went from "fuck pearl" to "omg best girl" to "pearl wtf?!?!?!" It was honestly hilarious.
Btw Verona for vice captain, this episode honestly pushed him from being my least favorite member to quickly passing Duros as my number one.

I want to see if William learns Haki or gets a Devil Fruit
Since he's playing rouge and they get an amazing action economy, so he's gonna be amazing with a paramicia as those would usually not be an attack action, which would be bad for a fighter or a paladin, and he'd still be able to use cunning action to dash or hide.
Since they are all martial classes zoans would be amazing as they are practically lycanthropy which is realy fun on martial classes

I’m glad the campaigns going smoothly. First time I played D&D our DM made all the enemies way to powerful and my friends and I had terrible stats so we spent a good 3 hrs killing 4 people

I've watched a lot of CZcamsrs play D&D and this is my favorite so far. You guys are more like pirates than Luffy and his crew in a lot of ways.
This series has the kind of comedy you don't see often in shows anymore. It is the sudden, lightening the dark mood, comedy that takes some serious balls to show off but I love it. Not just the "Look at our captain" moment, but also the Ragnar laughing while unconscious and being dragged to safety. Or the "We opened a box of sh*t that turned out to be actual treasure at a second glance" moment. It is just great. And I can't wait to see how those burns change their characters in terms of artwork since it is practically the first season that gave them scars to keep onwards, similar to Luffy's chest scar. It would be a bond from one of their first greatest adventure together. William's arm covered in burns, Duro has some face scars, Ragnar has burns on his chest, and Verona has a dragon's claw scar on his chest(or back considering he was running away). Could even see those scars being a group name change as to what pirates their symbol. maybe "Dragon scar pirates"
Hey rust, just wanted you to know for future reference that a nat 20 on a death save brings the character to one hp. Loving the series so far though, keep up the good work.

I just love how everytime Duros and Pearl get a moment together, Tekking gets emotional
so an idea for Ragnars bear power is to invoke the constellation Ursa Major (the star formation) as the origins of the constellation involve a bear, gods and a woman
Im not saying that i don't like the idea cause it's sounds really cool, but and it's unfortunally a big but that dosen't aline with any other zoan fruit abilities. But still a cool idea.
Does the one piece world have any constellations at all let alone any that Ragnar can even see?

@@admiralpotato1809 i don't think there are constellation mythical zoans, because they in them self aren't mythical animals. If anything it would have to be a new class of zoan fruits.

I love these sessions and this campaign!! Please don't drop it prematurely. These videos make my day and fill it with laughter. I honestly cannot wait for the next episodes.
Just saw this series recently. Also, from what I heard of One Piece being post-pone recently because of the virus. This is gonna be our weekly drug of One Piece.
Im absolutely loving this campaign so far. Ive tried a lot of d&d shows but this is the only one besides Critical Role that I have really enjoyed. You are a very good dungeon master.
