- Hurricane Hilary brought the rainiest day in Death Valley's history on August 20th. The park was shut down for months. Some of the back country roads remain closed to this day. When I realized that Badwater Basin was flooded I had to make the 5 hour drive to experience this once in a lifetime EPIC event.
Orion Nebula in the reflection! Wow!! Heading over in a few days. Hoping for windless nights! Thank you for sharing!
Nice!! Hope your chanel grow more. i like the videos
Excellent Video!
Beautiful shots
Thanks a lot!
AWESOME!!
Awesome work Mike. Love the commentary, it really illustrates how you you need to stay on your game as conditions can constantly change and time can get away from you.
Absolutely. Thanks for watching!
Wow, what a great result man! Love it. See an opportunity, go for it, get something really special 👍
Thanks for watching ! I'm just trying to get my results to be as good as yours.
@@mikesepicphotos haha, if I even came close to the stuff you do up there man 😄👍
Great result. I loved the picture!
Thank you!
I’ve been there several times since they reopened, even caught northern lights with the water, it didn’t change much so I’d think it’ll be there for awhile.
Cool twilight shot
sick dude!
Thanks for watching bro!
those reflections look beautiful!
Thank you. Thanks for watching!
Not once in a lifetime, it happened in 2015. I was there then and was there this week. Your photography is very very good, better than the video I posted. I got there around 8am. I came back the next week and it was super overcast. That's the way it goes in the valley of death. Still holding out for another Superbloom. I was there for the 2016 event. Wish I had todays equipment.....
Good work!
Thanks for watching. Is it still pretty flooded?
Great video, Mike - those spontaneous trips can be great and you got to witness something special. That’s a lot of detail from a single exposure - nice one!
Thanks for watching!
Wonderful images! Especially love the reflections in the water. Looks really great especially for a single shot image!
Thank you! Thanks for watching.
love clanger! his work is nuts!
thinking about going over there soon. anything you would do different this time? any other suggestions?
Nice video Mike, and great image with the orion and the winter milky way reflected in the lake.
May i ask you if the camera is modified with no IR filter.
Thanks for watching. There is no IR filter on my camera. Just Hydro Alpha. I am considering that though. Would you recommend that?
Mike, i imagine you know that all cameras initially have an IR filter that it is not very usefull for astrophotography and sometimes this is removed from the camera in way to have more sensitivity at the IR light for some sky objects.
Lakes don't have tides
Yes they do, theyre just not usually noticeable.
It will happen again in 02/2024
Awesome job! Hoping that there is still enough water there next month to shoot the entire arch :-) Thanks for this!
I am planning on going back too. I think there will be some water till the sunmer heat.
