I got into collecting while Combiner Wars was nearing its end so I was not able to complete many at the time. It all happened when I saw Prowl on the shelf while grabbing sunscreen at Target for my daughter's 2nd birthday, I was probably looking for another gift for her and Prowl being my first Transformers in 1984 I just had to get it for my desk at new job I got this was April 2016, the rest is history and I have amassed a sizable collection from most continuities. At the time all I knew was G1 up to the end of the original cartoon, I didn't know anything about headmasters, powermasters etc and the accompanying Japanese series so I had a lot to learn and it's been a blast, like being a kid again in my 40s, I'm 50 now and still collecting though I think United may give my finances a much needed break, right now I'm waiting for my Haslab Deathsaurus to add to my Victory collection, my favorite series however is Masterforce, I enjoyed this video, hope to see more.
Thank you for sharing your story! I love reading things like this. I'm excited for Deathsaurus as well not sure how to celebrate his arrival, maybe an unboxing video.
@@TTMMH42Your review of Hellbat and Guyhawk cost me, I just had to pick it up and ordered a complete CW Liokaiser in box, these will probably not be done again in a long time and the price was good. Now, how to keep the wife from knowing.

First video I've seen of yours and HO-LY-HELL you give the Lazy eyebrow a solid run for his money in terms of highest quality stop motion reviewer on youtube %100 gonna stay tuned!
I had no idea a Shockwave was made in Actionmaster colors. So far I have the following *random* Combiner Wars figures: Smokescreen, Streetwise, Prowl, Wheeljack, Unite Warriors Sunstreaker, Unite Warriors Lightspeed, CoolBecomeBrave KO Air Raid (bought to eventually make a custom Leader-1), Hot Spot, and G2 Silverbolt. I bought this version of Silverbolt because he kept reminding me of the GoBots _Power Warrior_ torso, Courageous. There's even room inside to insert a Titan/Prime Master, if you want to infuse Superion with the power of a Prime, or just have Titanmaster Repugnus hitch a ride.
Every single one of the original characters for the CW line were great. Alpha Bravo, Rook, Offroad, and Jet Blast off (who's not a new character but certainly wasn't his namesake) were all great to go with one of the many extra torsos like Cyclonus or the POTP Inferno.
Trailbreaker is a special one for me. First figure i ever got to my collection! it does help he is literally the best character ever (not biased) and a pretty decent deluxe too! A black forcefield arm goes with everything.
It's nice to see somebody talking about the older figures. All I ever see are the shills trying to push the latest releases. Combiner Wars & Titans Return are my favorite lines. I have them all. I find it really depressing how a line is all the rage when it's in stores but as soon as it ends you never hear about it anymore. Everybody just drops it like a hot potato & moves on to the next line. That just happened with MOTU. For the past 3 years the vintage styled Origins line was all the rage. It's not complete yet but Mattel just announced that the vintage figures will become MattelCreatons exclusives & they introduced the new Cartoon Collection & TMNT crossover. Now, all of a sudden, nobody is talking about the vintage line anymore. It's not even over yet & everybody has pretty much already forgotten it & moved on.
I liked the Swindle the did, it looked beefy, giving the character the look of a bot that could throw a punch and leaving some lasting damage, I love the Blacking and Dreadwind version of the jet molds, the remolding involved was phenomenal and they kept the combining gimmick of the original. Kinda a stretch but Blastoff's mold was good in my eyes it was different from every other mold making it interesting on top of the fact with was a space shuttle also it the only limb with a silver hand.
@@TTMMH42 It should be noted that I also like the Breakdown/Sunstreaker/Wheeljack/Afterburner/Jumpstream mold, just for the fact that in Arm mode, has two ways of being oriented with elbow bend, or using the standard method can get some better two hands on rifle poses.
Same story really. I hadn't been into Transformers since Beast Wars Transmetal but then Combiner Wars comes out and pulled me back in! I did love the roll out of the first 2 waves (4 members of 1 team and 1 member of the opposing team) It kept you on the hook if you just wanted 1 combiner, but knew you'd be back for more. My top 5: 5: CW Ironhide - I liked it more because my daughter was into MLP and I let her play with this and her Applejack. It also was a 'why is this so hard' moment. Bayverse Ironhide as a pickup truck made a lot of sense, but it was like why make it so hard with the gun fetish, being rusted out like a punk and colored so black he vanished in the shadows. 4: Alpha Bravo - I don't think anyone was surprised by the predecos like Optimus before Motormaster or Alpha Bravo before Blades and Vortex. But the helicopter mold was solid. Good robot mode, tight vehicle mode and fun transformation. 3: Blast-Off (Lift Off) - The jet Blast-Off was welcomed in my Combaticons. It made sense to have a jet over a shuttle. But I took it a step further. Lift-Off was Onslaught's enforcer. Her job was to keep the other Combaticons in line. 2: Legends Class Seekers: You know the score. 3 jets - 1 mold. But contrasted against the towering Combiners this felt like the ideal scale. It is fun having Superion square off against Menasor, but its equally fun to have Defensor swat Skywarp out of the skies. 1: Viper - This one hit harder than it should have. Just repaint Powerglide in Rattler blue. But Viper got my imagination goin wondering what other Joe/Transformers crossovers we could expect: a Brawl/Warpath cross, maybe a Groove, VAMP. It is far subtler than the ones coming out now.
It’s your video, but you don’t have to preempt the introduction of G2 Silverbolt like that. The red and blue look great, and the cohesive color scheme makes it look better than the G1 version.
Oh happy to see that motormaster on here since I chose it for my combiner torso. I have dreadwind and black wing so i just need 2 more arm/foot bots now to complete it

I had also completely quit collecting transformers, but then CW upped the quality. TR upped it again and there were some outstanding figures in the POTP line, though they dropped the quality for much of it. Then they hit overdrive with Siege and it's been hit or miss after that; some great figures and some not so good ones. The problem is the prices have also gone through the roof and they started cheating price points by putting figures into higher price classes. I bought a lot of figures since CW, but have trickled it down to just a few here and there because of the current quality and prices. My wallet thanks them and I still have the other figures in my collection.
Great list, man! 🤩👍 My personal faves are LG Ultra Magnus + Alpha Trion, CW Hotspot & UW Groove. (But I loved nearly all of the toys from the line and toolings born thereof, if truth be told.) 😅 Stay awesome, and fingers crossed you hit your target!
My favourites from the line were actually the dinobots and their conversion to Volcanicus! I even enjoy the wide-hipped Grimlock (he pairs nicely with Snapdragon).
Thanks for going so hard on this video. Clown-college Superion, indeed! I hope you reach your goal. Nice mold mate swap with the finger touch. You hit the nail on the head with the motormaster mold. It works well as a truck and robot, but the combined mode is lacking. Someone once told me that the pickup truck combiners have the same engineering/transformation as the jets. It blew my mind.
Prowl and Smokescreen are my favorite from this line. I guess that means Streetwise and Deadend and... And... It's a good mold , transforms easy and with the exception of ankles he's fully articulated. Lots of good figures in this line. Lots of 3p combiners were being released and Hasbro coming out of "Prime" into a battle, or should I say "combiner war".......uhu....get it ...?? Combiner wars?? Yeah
CW has been the start of the big retailing failure here, with the result of some toys not being release at all, so I have more of a ""prime trilogy"" vision rather than a CW/TR/Potp one, at least most of the TR one are easy to clock over. and a still incomplete collection of those. I know they are definetivelly Potp, but they really feel good to handle. -I despise 'blastoof'. not really, but for me shuttle blastoff is the way. soon, I say soon. also, the rewritten background for the change is hilarious -targetmaster Viper is better than powerglide -skylinx as a concept. the execution isn't on pair, but honestly, sky linx as a combiner torso is hillarous. gonna pass on that tho, ain't got the space -by jumping trough multiple hoops, namely mandarake, I grabbed an Adventure Override, which is a recolor of Groove. love the lil'thing -got a dreadwing and some time I?ll grab a blackwing. I just like their colors more than any other jet limb
I skipped this entire line for the most part, only picking up a couple of the legends class figs. Sometimes I think about looking for some used figures but every time I think about it I remember how crappy the hand/feet were, unless I’m getting Computron and maybe a few others or go for the third party offers. Computron does look pretty sweet. The ultra expensive Seacons would definitely be the group I’d love to collect as well but…money…
The Seacons were the biggest pain in the ass to get when they were new. Stupid Pulse exclusives that sold out in seconds.
