    This video explains the adjustment of the D tuner better and more simply than the video made by the actual inventor of the thing. Thanks John 👍🏻

    I'd love to see a video on installing Quarter Pounders on a P Bass and a video on installing a BadAss bridge and a an explanation of why that's a common mod.

      @4stringz Steve Harris uses Seymour Duncan SPB-4 now, as he disliked the lack of mids (still there but drowned by too much bass and treble output) on the Quarter Pounders, and had these made for his taste.

    Excellent thing ! But I guess you need a proper nut and bridge to let the string move smoothly

    Hopefully the one I plan on getting fits my 70s j bass. I kinda thought this was gimmicky at first but I mostly play in standard and drop d so it would be nice.

    Can this be added to all 4 strings? I been a drummer for a while and have always wanted to learn bass but never have gone for it until now, so doing this setup or just get a 5 string?

    • @MotivationAdonis
      @MotivationAdonis Před 2 lety +1

      That would be extremely expensive just get a 5 string at that point

    i installed one of these a few weeks back, the thing i notice is the tuning machine squeaks very much while tuning the bass. I'm not sure if the gears are meant to be as tightly fitting as they are, but it sure makes a lot of noise. Any suggestions for this? It does hold tune very well and almost locks it in place. Great machine otherwise.

  • @marialauracometta2633

    does this device ultimately "damage" the bass for the "weird" tension? I was told that by someone but I am not sure, since so much people uses it and recommends it.

      Hi Maria, we recommend that you contact a trusted local luthier for assistance. Thanks for watching!

    how low can it go? can it be tuned to Db, C, B? Thanks!

    • @dangracia7805
      @dangracia7805 Před 3 lety

      you can tune it lower but bear in mind the string gets floppier the more you do that. Also, you have to adjust your fingering patterns whenever you drop just the E string to anything different.

    hello, can a drop d tunner be installed in all 4 strings?

    • @GeekStinkBreath72
      @GeekStinkBreath72 Před 8 lety +1

      because of the size of the base, i don't think it'll fit properly. If someone made a custom neck with a bigger headstock for you, you could make the tuners farther apart to accommodate for the size of the tuner.

      Buy a "the drop" pedal, it would be simpler ;)

      @Gambero And check Charles Berthoud as well. You should do that anyhow :D

  • @finalbossoftheinternet6002

    Hipshot has a chart , follow that chart and buy the right hipshot for the correct instrument and you will not have to drill. Hipshot doesn’t make them to be drilled but fitted to the correct instrument model.

      Wood is not that hard ,screw can seat easily. Drill press would be best.😉
