If youre using Shamael, then you want to keep the Head of Torment on the field for as long as possible, so in this respect, you WANT the Continuous Heal buffs to be stolen and spread to ensure that Shamael will be able to continually benefit from his A1 and passive. This also possibly prevents the Head of Wrath coming along and wiping your team so that you can continue for a longer period of time. Otherwise, youre relying on RNGesus (but after the cheese that MC posted today, it wont be long before changes are made and the Free Regroup is gone).
The dwarf with the cleanse on A1 with deference might be cool as a low rent Shamael.
Tuhanarak is really good when talking about debuff removal. Only thing I found with her is I don't think she's working properly with her passive. Says cleanse with every turn, but I find it's only doing it on her turn.
If unkillable gets spread to the fear head, can you infinite counter him with deference and never kill it?

@@DeadwoodJedi VJ is absolutely correct. I didn't care what Ash, Murder, Stu or even Hades had to say. Of course they are going to fawn over it, because for them it is a new and fun way they can finally put their dupes and insane accounts to work. You however, and not in a bad way, use champions that are accessible, and strategies that normal players can potentially follow and make work.
Just saw the Mother Cybele & Shamael strategy. Itâs the best one Iâve seen so far. Ppl are getting 10 mil before the hydra gets its first turn lol, insane.
The beatuy of a rezz champion like godseeker is you can skip the digest by letting the unit die before it gets eaten.
This is a strategy that helped me a lot too. Best bit of strategy I figured is that using a counter attack or reflect damage champ was great to let me reliably kill MY OWN CHAMPS before they got eaten. Just let the heads steal CA or reflect and then I can manual kill the big damage champs that get eaten the most for me before they get eaten.

People are sleeping on Wurlim for Hydra. He has an irresistible decrease acc. And you can build him to smack and have high resistance because he doesn't need acc. And he brings increase def and strengthen.
I tried using Wurlim for hydra but when they steal his buffs. It makes it extremely difficult even with block buffs they cleanse so frequently.
@@neilandrade3889 yeah it's y u need resistance on your characters. Doesn't stop the unresistable stuff (fear) but stops the stealing. My Trunda I'm using is still gona have 350 resistance for example.
If building resistance is tough for you (really depends on account level and great Hall) turn off his A3.
So glad to see mortu-macaab on a team honestly. I had to run him in one of my teams for lack of better champions. Now mine didnt do too much because he got eaten first and i couldnt break him out but i could tell that if i can stop him from getting eaten his peril can put in some work
Lower his cdmg or make someone have more cdmg than him or bring another dps to help him get out

Quargan the crowned has a good kit for this boss and also do not underestimate arbiter as a help towards bigger damage.
I've been thinking about perma veil with rector + sandlashed + hope (i don't have aniri) or duchess and the new fusion, but i still need to figured out the speed
one intresting thing with Shamael and his passive is, that head of torment aplies that fear debuff on EVERY hit it takes. So if you bring a champion with a 3 or even 4 hit on the A1, that champs gets 3 (or 4) times the debuff. Your leader gets 3 (or 4) times the turnmeter boost
Key words: resist, acc down, block buffs

Okay, hear me out, Shamael, Geomancer, Thea, Thylessia, Vrask, and Duchess or the ally attack orc legendary with the attack shields self and another?
Used a Cardiel, Duchess, Ninja, Cupidus, Venus, and Dark Kael team that worked really well. AOE damage us a serious MVP.
Nice Video DJ. Have you tried high RES on the champion who gets the most buffs because I believe he is the one who the heads are trying to steal buffs from. In my team under test it is Ninja and it does seem to help a lot.

Try Raglin as the lead if you have her with a Shamael combo. Boosts the teams turn meter continuously . The Hydra Boss wil never get a Turn. Good Luck DJ. Hope you try this.

for the heal. HP balance abilities will be key for hydra. now i know why the final doom tower champion will be amazing for hydra. he has hp burn, decrease attack and the hp blanace on a 3turn CD. plus hp champion . sinnesha has it and i belive 1 or 2 more
as for krisk. i made him as slow as possible with sheikld set, high resist. i like mischeif just try to steal his buffs. have to avoid the 3% rng haha

DWJ, i've noticed that the digestion count jumps & resets when a champ dies. could a high speed, high attack, low/med defance revive team be an answer ??

Excellent. I think murders video about mischief was spot on and the only thing I hoped you would cover that you didn't. Having a slow res tank in maybe immunity, divine. Being slower ensures you won't cycle through buffs like the rest of your team, and the buff steal will target the guy with the most buffs, immunity and divine covers the first turn, speed covers the rest. Murder used krisk but mentioned anyone will do it, I plan on rebuilding drexthar for that. This brings us back too the more buffs the better really, making a siphi another great revive choice. Agree entirely on the dmg dealers, just flat out need them, and hp burn is the easiest too add to that. I plan on doing 3 teams, visix and psylar on separate teams, ninja, akoth, drexthar on seperate teams. And res tanks on 2 dif teams, and uugo and rian on the other. Hopefully by next week, but likely the one after. Getting more positive about mid game as we go on hydra. No doompreist, thanarak or shamael and still hopefull i can figure out 3 versatile targeted auto teams within a few weeks with everyone's ideas.
I'm using Geo as well. Thinking akoth, rian and uugo on one team. Geo with maybe drex, psylar. Ninja with visix, stag knight and maybe arch mage as a res tank. I don't think my traditional damage dealers are fit for it right now. May use tayrel on one team, and candy on another. Astralon isn't fit for this but in my clan I will likely be in normal for a while for at least 1 key, probably two to help kill it. Need another tanky dmg dealer eventually. Need to likely rebuild senesha for dmg as well, given her heal through hp balancing doesn't created burnt and lost max hp. I also have two decent cleansers built in maus and dazdurk, luckily they are great and built well but cleansing itself has been a massive let down so far, doompreist style would be a way better fit. For revives I will use a fast arbiter on probably the drex team, but lack revives fully built. Don't think scyl is worth a spot so far in my dabbles, more interested in maybe maxxing the hippo or kaiden if I have room for another. For hex the obvious choice is thylessia right now for potential debuff spreads, debuff duration and def down, think I want her paired with Geo.
Akoth, uugo, rian, candy, dazdurk, sinesha. drex, geo, psylar, thylessia, maus(eventually xmas fusion maybe), tayrel. ninja, visix, stagknight, arch mage, arb, valk... res tank... Hmmm... I don't care to ruin anyone making them slow in there, Helmut is too good and not because of a fitting passive like drex. Guess my slow res ninja. Slow for unm cb already. Just have him in great nuking gear and have to switch it up for devine and/or immunity and hope unm still is great.... There told you about my ideas... :p 3 balanced decent teams in a year old ftp account. This was oddly easier than using my team preset builder thing. Only need to rebuild ninja and drex, and max and build akoth and rian after I collect rian during the fusion hopefully If I can wait.
Rare demonspawn Abyysal is very useful here. He has AOE block buffs on A1 and heal on A2

Umbrall did the same job as mortu, but unfortunately I have only one champion who can 100% place aoe block buffs. But luckily for the second team without block buffs, mordecai with 400 res works surprisely great, his speed is very slow to make sure he always has all buffs for locking the mischief head. at the 60 turns the mischief stole the buffs because of the 3% stupid design, but at that moment the run was almost finished and got 3.8M damage. If we can find a way to control the swollowing head (I don't understand the IA of heads for swollowing champions yet, sometimes they didn't eat my champion even when the count turned 0), we could generally ignore the mischief head.

Some ideas how to control this Hydra fights, with those ideas i think it will possible to make stable teams:
(I can't test them myself as i'm fully F2P and only a mid gamer without the resources and the champs)
1. I think its possible to speed tune the eating because as i understand the head that eats the next champ is the first hydra that goes after the eating counter mark drops to 0 by manipulating the speeds of the heads with putting a decrease speed on them. With this you can assure which head will eat your champ (the things needed here is speed debuff and acc).
2. You can control who will be the next champ eaten by manipulating the crit dmg of the DMG dealers champs, because as i remember the mark will be on the champs that has the highest crit dmg on the start of the fight and when the champs are eaten. With this you can prepare your DMG dealers so the one that stays will save the one that been eaten (here we need Crit.DMG manipulate on our champs).
3. With the egg shield buff, which heals fully the heads if its not broken, you can manipulate it so it will let the heads be "saved" and not die so the RNG of the next head spawns won't be an issue (here we need DMG target control and hydra turn control).
Still problems i see is the need of champs and buffs to counter the 'fear' and the 'true fear' debuff RNG, but with the right champs i believe its possible ('Veil', 'Perfect Veil' cleansers champs and of course Shamael).
Maybe i missed alot of asspects but by controlling those things will be very helpful to build more stable packs in the future.
I know the first champ eaten is the highest crit dmg. After that I thought it became random.
Has anyone tested Abyssal in Hydra?... Might not work at higher levels but that A1 could be solid for a third team.

Even with the AoE damage reduction of 60% or 40% it's still better to do AoE than single target damage ?
Demytha's A3 is a liability, but if you're running a high resist, high buff count team, her a2 is the best heal in the game, while also being a soft cleanse. if you're running high resist + decrease accuracy, your buffs are pretty safe, giving you the space to place block damage. she also becomes less of a liability when mischief isn't a main-deck head.

It's a great skill, but far from the best heal
So does your final damage number actually get reduced when it heals with continuous heals? Otherwise I don't see what's the big problem with the continuous heals getting stolen.
Never killing a head and getting the bonuses from decap. Will make your mileage less
nope, i think that's a viable strategy if you like the heads on the other side.

There are 60 and 70 mil runs out there now , inquisitor breaks this rotation of this boss, and thats up to brutal so far
I love the info. Only thing I would like content creators is to stop saying, "don't know what Plarium is going to do about this ability BC it's Brocken, they may need it or something".
Not the only one who says this about champs and abilities.
Just wish you all would just point out the advantages and disadvantages of the chemo and abilities, and let Plarium figure it out , as oppose to informing them that am ability is Brocken.

I've seen many videos but no one mentioned a champ I thought about could be useful- Sachi. her a1 is aoe dec acc which is super useful and her a3 boost tm. with CA mastery or AA she can do some work. maybe I miss something?
Great video as usual. Traditional CB requires only 5 champions and rewards are great. Hydra requires 18 and rewards are meh. Definitely not building 3 specific teams for this. Not in the short term at least. And yes Mithrala is great but even if you only hit lower difficulty levels, you ll get her ... and it wont take so much time (see "HH Gaming" video about Hydra rewards)

Another solid video Deadwood big fan of your work. I may be a minority but the release of the Hydra is perhaps the biggest thing Plarium has done that makes me want to quit Raid and I have been a pay to play for almost 2 years and they have done a lot in that time which was not good for the players community. Why has none of the CC called out the underlying mechanics Hydra is built upon. 1. It forces players to use very specific abilities that are very limited in game. (Veil, Fear cleanse, Strengthen) -> Whales only. Worse it mandates having duplicate of those champions since you can only use them on 1 key -> Whales only. Finally, it forces use of mechanics the player base would never use outside of Hydra, like Hex. Guess who has that luxuy -> Whales only. I know they are in it to make money and over those two years I have spent more on this game then any I have played but this is one straw too much.

Someone suggested a fix that the fear shouldn't proc for counterattacks. Would be a reasonable fix and then it can open up more comps like skullcrusher etc

@@mobileapp9056 well it would make valkyrie more viable and she is an ancient/sacred seller. But honestly those two things do not have to be mutually exclusive. Just that if all they are seeing is dollar signs it blinds them to more creative solutions. Maybe that's why 3v3 arena is so trash when there are so many better ways it could have been implemented

For the rewards they offer it makes ZERO sense to dedicate a team to this boss. With CB the time and resources I put into it make it worth the effort bc I'm guaranteed 2 shards or 2 books or sometimes all 4.
F2P players don't need to worry about Hydra, it is not for us. Not even pay to win players can cover all the abilities.

Thank you for your insights - Sidenote: I am already tired of hearing about Shamel... if you have him, you're good, if not your f... what kind of sense does that make for a new clan boss? It is annoying. Please focus on showcase teams without Shamael, everybody can do it with him (only capped by available gear/champs overall), and have seen so many guides with him already...

Look for Shamael to be heavily discounted in the winter clearance aisle in January.
The never ending fear is just too much. It makes it irritating and not fun. They should have put that on a cool down not our mastery. Clan boss damage will be effected by this nerf also.
Hydra is almost as uninteresting and unrewarding as tag team. Why? Random AF and people say its because its "end game content" which is BS. Most teams can control the hydras pretty okay until RNG hits. Exception is for specific champs/combos/teams but in a game with a more and more bloated pool of garbage cchamps this has nothing to do with "end game". It comes down to wwhat do i pull and i can play 6 years without pulling one of the usefull heros. Play almost from day one and i still lack Maneater for example. Anyway good vid thx.
