  • If you are used to making the Solomon Grundy wine kits, you will see they have had a remake and an update to the way the box looks.
Solomon Grundy wine kits have also changed their name in July 2023 to SG wines.
The kits have also had a slight name change:
    - Medium dry white is now called dry white
    - Medium sweet White is now called sweet White
    - Medium dry red is now called red
    - Rose it’s still called Rose
The SG Wines Classic Wine Kits are available to buy at brewbitz homebrew shop - www.brewbitz.com/collections/...
Here in this quick video, we show you the old box, the new boxes, opening the box, and the contents inside, including the new pouch the group concentrate comes in.
So if you’re a fan of making the Solomon Grundy classic wine kits, these are the new boxes you need to look out for.
If you’re looking to make wine at home then these SG wines are a fantastic way to make 30 bottles of wine in just seven days. Once you have made it pop it in some bottles and then leave for at least a month for the wine condition in the bottle.
These kits make fantastic easy to drink wine in just a few days. You can drink it as soon as it’s made, but it does improve with age.
    Cheers and happy brewing
    Davin

What if I add a bit more sugar to get it up around 1.130 SG and use my own EC-1118 yeast?
Will these kits still ferment to what that usually ends up, around 17% to 18%?
I know wine isn't meant to be that strong, but I am a cheapskate 😂
The only reason I make my own wine is because it's cheaper than cider and that was the cheapest option, until making wine at home. If these make 30 bottles then that's what I usually make anyway (about 5 x 4.8L). I typically make it from pure orange juice but I'm getting a bit bored of it now and want to try these kits since if anything, they are cheaper than buying pure orange anyway. Also these kits have everything included, loads of other powders I don't even use.

Hi. Yes, we are currently Internet only since we closed the shop in Bath in July 2022. If you are local to Frome (in the BA11 area), then we offer a local delivery option. But for now, we are Internet only until the economy sorts itself out.

Its a really fast ferment - 5 days. Then a fast finings - 2 days. Then its ready for bottling.
We suggest leaving it to bottle condition for 4-6 months. But most people who buy these 7 day kits only let it bottle condition for 1 week to 1 month.
Its a good table wine. Very easy drinking. About 11%.
If you a used to paying £5 for a bottle, then go for the Platinum range.
If you usually go for the more expensive wines, then look at the vineco or winexpert kits.
