12:49 It still breaks my heart that Goku thinks it was a terrible monster who killed his grandfather and it's not untill DBZ when he realizes the truth. That scene when he's fighting against Vegeta and goes "wait, I was the monster who killed my grandpa?" hits hard
Honestly it’s really sad when you think about it. Goku cherishes the 4 star ball as a kid because he considers it Grandpa Gohan as it was all that was left for him. Only to unknowingly be the one who killed Grandpa Gohan.
He isn’t even aware that he was the one who killed his Grandpa until the Saiyan Saga when he sees Vegeta transform into one. When he realizes that, you can hear the heartbreak in his voice for the moment before he focuses back onto the fight.
What no that was Vegeta. he came to earth twice in the past once when he killed Gohan and another time when he destroyed the world tournament ring

It's strange that the Power Pole (miraculously) survives all this. That thing's either immortal or it has the biggest plot armor.
I think it's literally unbreakable because it's magic, which further reinforces why it should have been used in Z; adult Goku's strength combined with an unbreakable weapon that can infinitely extend would be pretty strong
He left it at the top of korin's tower connected to kami's place(I forgot the name) when he got there for the first time because originally it is designed to connect korin's tower and kami's place
@@s.2685 yeah, and that made sense when people couldn't fly and you needed to climb the pole to reach the lookout, but that's not really an issue anymore (Bulma can even reach it in flying vehicles in the Cell and Buu sagas), and it's not like the pole holds the lookout up or anything because it stayed floating up in the sky all the times that Goku had the pole as a kid (and during the Dead Zone movie , but movies aren't canon even though I feel that one is the easiest to fit in the timeline).
I think as the series moved towards Goku's martial arts and strength improvements, they didn't want him using weapons as it's not as "pure" as just using your body to fight, also including the pole would add additional complexity to fights that they might not want to consider, it is a shame though, because I love young-adult Goku using the pole in the Dead Zone movie

yeah, Goku didn't find out that he is the one who stomped Grandpa Gohan to death till he saw Vegeta turn into a Great Ape in the Saiyan Saga then he figured it out,, can't really fault Bulma and the gang for not telling Goku that he is the one that killed Gohan

The original DBZ English Dub changed this, but the explanation for the Oozaru transformation was, when light from a star hits a celestial (full moon) body and reflects the light and the light mixes with the atmosphere it creates Blutz waves, Blutz waves are measured in Zenos and once they reach 17 million zenos they are absorbed by the Saiyans retina which causes the tail to release hormones that cause the great ape transformation. By cutting the tail you stop the transformation inducing hormones or destroy the moon which drops the blutz waves below 17 million zenos.
