Here in the Psalms we’re reading poetry that has stood for thousands of years. Surely the most quoted poetry in history. Beautiful prayers for protection, thanksgivings, songs of repentance, and recognition of the greatness of God. This book is filled with a numerous prophecies of Jesus that were fulfilled. It is amazing to read these heart-cries of David and other Psalmists. In fact, songwriters today glean these inspired Psalms for stirring content.
