Some true affordable alternatives:
Casio "Duro" - MDV106-1A - £60 - ish
Vostok Amphibia - Many models - £100
Tissot Seastar 1000 36MM - T120.210.11.051.00 - £390.00
And next level maybe Orient Kamasu, Seiko 5KX (both about £200), Christopher Ward C60 (750-1000 depending on strap). You don’t need to spend a fortune, if you don’t want to, to get a great watch on your wrist.
Ordered the white dial omega 300 from chrono 24 yesterday as my grail after saving for ages and I’m propa excited ❤️🔥
Congrats! The great white was my grail too for quite some time and luckily i'm the proud owner of it for about 8 months now. Been wearing it pretty much every day since i got it and like Harrison i can assure you that It's an amazing watch, very accurate and the white ceramic dial really pops under the right light conditions. Have fun and wear this beauty in great health, cheers!
congrats ! im still waiting for my grail watch datejust 36 silver sunbrust dial.. 🥺 waiting for over 6 months already
Mr. Brown, for the TAG Heuer, you should have featured the latest version of the Aquaracer 300m. They are now slimmed down to 42mm, COSC certified, new 70 hours of power reserve, new dials and color variations.
They did listened to their customers though.
Saw them at the boutique last week, Tag did an awesome job with this update!
New aquaracer has released 2-3 weeks ago with major changes. I don’t understand why he is talking about the old one.
The new aquaracer IMO price for the specs, build and beautiful dial is market leading.
@@LouisMorales-zx3jm agreed! The blue seconds marker on the black one is such an awesome touch
My first luxury watch was Longines Hydroconguest it’s well worth the money, amazing quality, finishing and you’ll get tons of compliments. I’m hooked on to luxury watches now.
I know Hamilton is not known for it's divers but the latest khaki scuba 300m is great for it's price IMO
The Tissot Seastar 1000 in blue looks extremely similar to that Oris, but for only $750. Still has 300m of water resistance and a see-thru case back as a bonus, plus 80hr power reserve. I love mine and it looks sleek in person
The Mido Oceanstar line is a criminally underrated value watch. Swiss made chronometers that can be found used for $500-$1000.
Yes I have the Omega, white dial. Got it with the bracelet and then change to a rubber strap! Love it …
Today I'm wearing my 38mm Certina DS Diver in two tone green bezel. I wanted something different from my Rolex Sub or Omega SMP 300. For the price this Certina is well-made, and it keeps perfect time.
I just got my first certina - the limited edition ds1000 and I’m very impressed. Compared to other watches I have at 10x the price it is very solid. Great technical specs and only -1 second per day accuracy. Extremely underrated brand with very high build quality.
whats on my wrist? the amazing mido oceanstar, blue dial with that killer ceramic blue bezel. the bracelet is in my opinion unmatched anywhere, the rounded edges and combination of brushed and polished elements is really stunning and the best part is the diver extension that so well serves as an instant micro adjuster. i use that feature alot and wonder how every watch bracelet made does not offer this feature. the wearability and beauty of this watch is insane. wish it came in a white dial, i would be on board with that immediately.
Breitling Superocean 42mm - some around at £4250.
81% of the audience didn't follow your channel because 81% don't see 5K (or4k or 3K...)-Watches as "affordable".
That is a very valid point. I get affordable is subjective, but £4-5000 is expensive for most things, and especially for watches, which are not needed for their original purpose anymore.
Rado, Oris, TAG, Longines, Tudor, Omega
These brands are start-mid tier mass-produced luxury brands. TBH, I wouldn't expect it to be in the list of 'affordable' regardless of how subjective it is
The list started around $300 and went up to the entry level of luxury dive watches. What more do you want?
I am wearing a Circula Divesport yellow dial "Madame Jeanette. 42mm Grade 2 blasted, hardened titanium, 500m water resistant, swiss movement, ridiculous lume, $1200. German manufactured and top notch finishing. I adore this watch
Very nice Diving watches. I recently bought a Farer Hecla with red Dial on a black rubber strap and an Omega Planet Ocean (Orange Bezel / White Dial). I always wanted a titanium watch and also a watch with a red dial. The Farer checked both boxes and is a nice summer dive watch. The Planet Ocean is just awesome and a beast of a watch. The Sub was always too conservative, plain and too "luxury / classy" for what I was looking for in a dive watch. The PO is the more "fun" sportier Sea Dweller for me and I couldnt be happier. First I was afraid of the thickness but it wears slimmer and great on my 7.7 inch wrist.
where is the Formex Reef (/GMT)? ;)
Pricewise it's comparable with the Longines HC, but is COSC certified and features some specials like quick-adjust clasp, quick release strap/bracelet and a changeable bezel (as opposed to the Si balance spring the HC offers, and being dead precise even without COSC). I have both and I must say I think the bezel action is even better on Formex's changeable bezel.
When talking about Doxa you legitimize the Seiko turtle look made by a microbrand for a higher prize. But Formex still offers lower prices, now this is a thing of taste but I would also prefer their design any day^^
You shoud make a video about powermatic 80, from Tissot, Certina, Hamilton, what are the differences, what models are with plastic components etc...
The 23 jewels version has synthetic escapement, while the 25 jewels version is the “traditional” one.
I’d get a Longines, but the 39mm Zulu Time. Most people will think it’s a dive watch anyway and it’s plenty waterproof
Wearing mine now. Don’t think it’s every seen water other than the sink 😅
I purchased my Tudor Pelagos 39 and Omega SMP with white dial in part due to your previous inputs about them. I absolutely love both pieces for very different feelings they each evoke.
Owning a extensive collection and many divers of all price ranges the one watch I would consider the best value for money is my Squale. If you want a truly excellent diver with great value and heritage I dont think you can go past Squale.
Hands down the best dive watches for the money are Helm watches. They're ISO certified and ship with the actual test result for your watch. I have a Miyako and have a Komodo on order. They typically run in the $300 to $400 range. Only one drawback, you have to order them. Your wait could be in the one to two year range. Worth every penny, and no I don't work for them, just a satisfied customer.
Curious what you make of the Baltic Aquascaphe. I love the blue gult on black strap.
Wearing my previous gen Aquaracer today. Fit's right in this video. Was my first automatic. Was between this and the Oris, just couldn't get the Oris on my wrist to try it out and wanted the ability to swap straps w/o having to be forced into OEM straps.
I NEED the Hydroconquest GMT in 39mm or less
I love my BB 41 red bezel (not the metas one), and I really like the Seamaster you own, absolutly winner deal for that price point.
Great video as always. Good choices but I think I'd have a Breitling Avenger in the list
Watch check: Marathon GSAR 41mm in the arctic white, of course with the rubber strap!
Baume & Mercier Riveria 42mm Baumatic with the black sapphire dial; on the OEM green rubber strap. It’s my sexy watch day, time to go show it off
I do like the Omega SM300, but 2 minor things. 1) helium valve and 2) AR on the outside. Thanks for the vid!
I think Zodiac Sea Wolf should been in this video as well.
Tissot Seastar 1000 is definitely one that fits this category great
Can I keep 30 minutes difference between local hour hand and GMT hand. Please advise
Wearing my Tissot PRX Powermatic80 which right now is my daily beater
Rock solid list. However, Christopher Ward is a standout for budget divers, with seriously good quality.
The Mido ocean star (600) and the Titoni Seascoper are cool affordable Diving Watches too.
Wristcheck: Tudor Pelagos 39 mm (on a black nato)
Wearing my Rado Captain Cook Plasma High Tech Ceramic Titanium Blue R32128202. Nice video, like the Longines Hydroconquest GMT.
Hydroconquest 44mm in blue on the wrist.
Rado do have something for me would like to see some of the Captain Cooks featured
I’m wearing my Tudor BB 41 Monochrome.
Great looking watch but imo still way to thick for a time only watch with a closed case back and "only" 200m water resistance.
I am biased as I'm wearing one, but the doxa sub 300 has a cosc eta movement which sort of explains the price.
In the video you are wearing the 300t. Give the sub 300 white pearl a try, I think you will like it.
The Seiko Sumo is actually my daily watch. I think it did worth the price… but I still hope Seiko can make their movement more accurate.
Just purchased the Oris Aquis date 41.5 today in Amsterdam on vacation. Tax free and they threw in rubber strap free. Get $300 back at airport when leave. Win win
Great review my brother, today im wearing my Ophion 786 velos in blue guilloche, keep up the great reviews.
STEINHART 42mm HULK with a eta 2824-2 elaboré and exhibition case back. ❤
Missed out the TAG night diver… such a cool looking watch
I would love it if you reviewed the classic that is the Seiko turtle one of their greatest hits in my opinion
I think it would be rather interesting to turn people's attention to Tag Heuer Carrera 41 mm Date / Day Date. It is a vastly underrated watch, that really shines when you get it on the wrist and you have to see it, because digital photos don't do it justice. Plus, the market is full of second hand pieces at very reasonable prices. Cheers and thanks for a great video!
Great video. Love the Omega. Also love the Tag Heuer. Bought my wife the Diamond Aquaracer, for our 25th wedding anniversary.
Keep up the great content.👍
I have many watches, and dive watches make up most of my collection. They are great and just look the business!
Lovely Video , anything about the Breilting?....
Wearing a 2022 Tudor Ranger, please review 👍
Wrist check: my latest Seiko mod, the Dark knight.
A combination of the Batman (dial & hands), and the Bruce Wayne (bezel insert), hence the Dark Knight.
Just not sure wether to wear it on the three link or the five link bracelet (no logo clasp).
Love that you are adding subscriber watch reviews!
I'd love if you could review any of these:
1.) Grand Seiko SBGW 287
2.) IWC Pilot's Chronograph 41
3.) NOMOS Club Campus 36 Cream Coral
Keep up the great work and content Harrison!
I think in the upper levels of your price cap, but, a Sinn U50 is quite a great watch and the dimensions are near perfect.
I sold my white seamaster
I realised I prefer money over watches
What’s wrong with Certina watches is the brand name, it’s also a brand of incontinence pads..
You missed the Montblanc 1858 iced sea automatic! I have it in grey, an amazing dive watch.
Casio MRW200H. $22! It’s great! Alternates with my sub and Tudor.
Ooof, was hoping for a list under 1,000 or thereabouts. Love the list and have my eyes on Certina. Always looking to wear it first before buying and Certina's a bit difficult to find outside of Europe
The Montblanc Iced Sea dial blows all of these watches away
this video should include casio duro for the smaller budgets!
Hi Harrison,
Would love you to review one of the watches in my collection, which is my Raymond Weil Millesime with the pink dial.
Please review the Casio duro batman version. It's my daily watch and I'm loving it. Might be the best dive watch under 100£😊
Oris big crown
wristcheck - wearing my newly purchased Breitling Superocean Heritage 42.. on a rubber strap as you said. XD
I believe the Doxa aquamarine was released a year before the Tiffany blue Patek nautilus.
The limited edition models released in 2019 and turned core models in summer of 2020.
Would have been nice to include a one of the high end seiko divers which people don’t often thing about Seiko for. E.g the SLA043 (62mas reinterpretation), or the SLA055 (1968 reinterpretation), as these have actual diving history
Superocean. Probably better built than all the watches on the list and still priced well
The Orient diver is pronounced “May-co,” like the shark it’s named after.
Subscriber reviews? I would love you to deep dive any of these that don't often get reviewed.
1. JLC Reverso Duoface
1. Sinn 104 white dial, I have H-link bracelet and Sinn leather.
Seiko SPB397J1 110 year anniversary Limited Edition with the Arita porcelain dial.
Let me know? Thanks
Certina😍
The dive bezel does not track oxygen consumption but rather bottom time.
Good video, but just a small correction. You are right that the unidirectional bezel is to avoid mistakes if the bezel rotates, but what you measure is "bottom time", the duration of the dive, to avoid nitrogen saturation, not the remaining air, which you measure with a manometer.
By the way, I love dive watches (I have a Citizen), but honestly most of us, recreational divers, use dive computers and not dive watches when diving.
The Pelagos is just called the Pelagos.....not the Black Bay Pelagos. Good video though. Love the orange Tag
I'm wearing my Squale 60 atmos on a heavy-duty mesh bracelet.
oris aquis date?? 41.5
On the wrist right now is my Nomos Ahoi.
You can review my daily driver - Ulysse Nardin Blast Dual Time. Ref 243-20-3/43
Wriat check Omega Seamaster 300 heritage in blue.
Can you review a Ulysses Nardin
Now I have 2 that can suggest that becomes my beater:
Seiko Monster Penguin
Citizen CA0711
smp300 alone. or zulu time + khaki field mechanical?
Please do this kind of video but for dress watches 🎉
Mido ocean star 600 is awesome
Today Im wearing Orient Mako 3 green gradient dial
15:20 use the therm "air". Almost no diver breathes pure oxygen.
Certina 👌👌👌
Wearing my diver today...my Submariner 124060. My AD came through for me on my 60th birthday.
Seiko 62mas references should've been on this list
Wearing my Citizen Promaster Fujitsubo Challenge Diver.
Nivada Grenchen Depthmaster beats most of these. Classic case and ‘affordable’ it should have been on this list. Glycine combat sub also is a miss.
Seiko marinemaster
Tissot T Touch Solar.
I consider myself a watch enthusiast, yet wouldn't consider anything above $500 affordable...
I thought Oris was still family owned
No Squale??
Seiko SARV003 JDM
Seiko Pogue
Why has no one mentioned “Ball” watches?!
No Grand Seiko? Hmmm
My vote for Pelagos. Omega too big, too thick and not really that affordable ;)
Thanks for the love team, if you want to keep up with all the new watches being released follow my IG: instagram.com/chisholmhunterwatches ❤
Great content as ever. I would love you to review my collection as it stands in a future episode.
1.Christopher Ward C60 Atoll
2.Tudor Pelagos 39
3. TAG Heuer F1 Indy 500 edition
4. Hamilton Khaki ETO Pilot
5. Omega Seamaster Automatic (1985)
6.Casio G-Shock 6900 Bamford edition
Many thanks
