In this video I cover installing the Verus engineering Hood louvers for a 2015+ WRX/STi. Please note the part number for the hood duct is not WRX or STi specific. You need to check the part you are ordering and make sure the physical gasket is the correct shape for the WRX or STi intercooler.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to ask in the comments section.

I just got these with the rain guard. I'm not even attempting to cut my hood, taking it to a body shop to do this.

Dreading doing this myself. Have the louvers on my desk right now. Looks straight forward though.

Nice vid bro! I dulled out my center punch so some of my holes were a little off and I had to drill slightly bigger holes lol.

Thanks! I'm clearly cross eyes because I almost never hit it directly center. 🤣🤣🤣 Ended up having to drill out a little too!

Wow that fein tool (equivalent) did a great job cutting the hole out!
A trick you might be able to use for making clearance for the nuts is to get a hole saw large enough for the socket and nut to fit into and then change the pilot bit in the arbor to your inner hole size. That works fine so log as there isn’t a spot weld holding the piece on. Also you may want to stick some sheet metal between the skin and reinforcement so it’s harder to accidentally cut through both lol
I wish Verus or someone spent a little more time making the vents “fit” the hood styling lines a little better, but from the backside there I can see sort of why they did what they did.

I was surprised how easy it cut too! I think the lube might have helped a bit. Once it got going it just cut like butter, and I really like how straight it cut.
The idea about the clearance is a good one. But honestly the Dremel was fine. I just only had one sanding barrel and applied a bit too much pressure and the aluminum cut it down. I was rushing a bit.
I also agree about the vent position with relation to the shape of the hood. It crosses that line in such a weird angle. I've seen plenty of other people use different vents and place them in different places, I'm curious to know if it is helping.
Hopefully in the next few months I'll have some good data as to how helpful these louvers are.

Did you apply anything so that no rust would form after the cutting?

What happens if it rains or snow?

I have a spare stock hood if I need to swap back. But verus sells a drainage kit that you can mount under the vents.
