Joo, you should read up about on how much American law firms are paying their grad trainees.
They start on £140,000!! (not including bonuses). Latham and Watkins, Kirkland and Ellis, Jones Day etc. have crazy money
That’s for NQs but they still have to go through 2 years of training contracts at around 50-55k, so still behind finance for first few years
Yeah, training contracts usually take around 2 years - similar to grad schemes on consulting or finance! But definitely crazy pay
hey i really want to take a business course for uni especially in lbs but many people have been telling me taking a business course for uni is a waste as companies won't hire you because it is just general knowledge? whats ur opinion

Does your job come with a decent work-life balance? I know many people, me included, need a nice mesh of decent compensation and very good work-life balance
My balance is honestly very good, but it definitely depends on the company and sometimes within one company, it depends on the project and client. On average, my hours are very good for consulting and I get to spend a lot of time on personal priorities 😊
do you think graduating at a higher ranked uni will get me in a better position for finding a job or doing a law or finance related degree can already have a better career path?
e.g someone doing an accounting & finance degree at Bristol or an Accounting & finance degree at Surrey
Only for saturated markets, it will be better to go to a higher uni but that is if you can handle it. I am here doing law in uni of york and currently failing so yeah be careful with your choices. For finance, I think it doesn't really matter unlike for law where it is hard to get a TC because of too many law graduates in the market.

LBS is my first choice but I do have a doubt that is it really true that the pay is good?? like this is a huge step to me and I wanna make sure its worthy of me leaving to another country far from my family and applying for the loan and study on my own which is my first time.... so is it worthy enough??
