- SimpleShot Pro Tip: Are double bandsets as efficient as they could be?
SimpleShot is making some changes in regards to double bandsets. Watch this video to see what, and why. - Jak na to + styl
Great explanation!
Thank goodness, I have watched this video before I put on a new set of rubber bands on my slingshot.
I'm not going to waste another pair of 14-inch rubber bands on my old slingshot ever again. 👍
Glad someone finally figured this out. Great job Nathan, thanks.
You are welcome! :)
Awesome. Thanks for sharing.
I Have just this week strapped my first double band set to my slingshot. I have noticed a significant and not so comfortable difference to shooting my first single band set. Thank you for this information :-) It's gonna come in handy :-)
thanks for the informations!
I've been zooming 1/2" hex nuts out of my setup with 6"×3/4" straights of simple shot black latex. Inside 12 yards a headshot does rabbits in,no problem all day long. Great video as always Nathan. - BPC
Thank you!
Ryan Moulden You fire nuts rather than balls?
Always have liked shooting heavy ammo , just my hang up. Always felt heavier band/tube pull equals better performance, well yes and know, a lesson I’ve learned from you guys, for me it’s head shots only and with that you can take down, Grouse, pheasants, squirrels , and for that matter Turkeys. As you say shot placement is KEY. Thanks for all you share 👍
Thank you for your comment AND for being a responsible hunter!
When I sent a friend a slingshot he wanted double bands but I forgot to double them. I never saw the need for it, I found you can get power simply by measuring the width of the bands and slicing to the desired width.
I do need that heavier draw weight actually when come to bigger heavy ammo.
Good comparison I need to get a crony I like 3/8 steel for my hunting and target shooting but without a way to test I haven’t tried to optimize my bands for the best accurate and hard hitting combo I can achieve other then gut feeling on seeing it hit different targets
Grate video Nathan thanks for constantly improving the slingshot would .
On behalf of the team here, you're welcome!
I just looked for these red bands you showed but can't find them on your website
Interesting! ..Im using Snipersling Yellow in 0.5 and having some good results with Doubling it Im cutting at 22mm to 15 with a 7 inch active Band length and its Shooting 9.5 or 3/8 Steel pretty well But only because I have run out of the .72 in the Black which i prefer Am going to have a look at this Simple Shot Elastic next time though cheers
Hello Boss nice info what's taper on that single band ?
I have PSTS aluminum cast from Pro Shot UK Catapults. I'm shooting 5/16rd, recently bought a roll of theraband gold from you. Banding to fork, fork is 1 1/8" atop. Should bands be attached wide or narrow atop fork? At what widths to taper is best for 5/16"?
Thanks for sharing, 👏👀👍
How far does the ammo actually travel from catapult to landing on the ground ?
Need to buy a catty of you . Hard work finding 1 in the UK. Good viideo
Glad you enjoyed it!
Proshot in the U.K. are brilliant recently bought a PPMG. TTF......great. for me
Can i buy these cattys in the vid , please leave a link for me/us .
I wonder what you’d suggest for my old favourite - 10mm lead
Our Nitro Flat Bands 1/2" will work well with 10mm lead ammo.
Great vid Nathan
Any power hungry folks out there could also try yellow precise (0.75mm) or any other of the thicker bands available now
There's just no need for doubles anymore. Like you say they just aint worth it
I agree. The yellow precise with a nice wide cut sends my 12mm steel excellent . By the way Love your videos .
Hay please post hunting with slingshot i am not telling you to i want you to and i love your videios
What is a good taper for simple shot black if im shooting half inch and 7/16 would 1 and 1/4 inch by 3/4 taper WORK
ive interest to try in double bandset and have interest for a good slingshot can hold 2 bandset. My question is all the simpleshot slingshots models can hold 2 bandset? have one more complete? hammer? scount? axiom? want test for get more joules with heavy ammo and testing 1,2 maybe 3 bands
yes ive check this czcams.com/video/4OqX_Bjj3f4/video.html simpleshot video yet. just want know whats slingshot for simpleshot is more durable and complete, maybe a hammer set?
Any of the FlipClips should hold double bandsets.
It does not increase the velocity like one would think. The added drag and wind resistance alone will slow the bands.
Like now, watch later.
please make zap slingshot and zap slinbow that can shot dart.
Double layer never caught on with me, 2 pieces of rubber rubbing against each other will definitely shorten the life of a set.. Also its quite difficult to make a neat connection to the pouch.. Might as well just buy thicker bands if you want to shoot heavier ammo and don't get too caught up in trying to eek out a few fps.. It doesn't matter in the slightest..
Id like to see the longevity of bands tested
There are several tests from individuals here on CZcams. Please check them out.
I need to buy some more Thera-Band from simple shot I been shooting the gold what is the difference between that and the red precise thanks in advance
Hi there. We have seen much better performance from Precise than we've ever seen from TBG. The Precise latex is our favorite for raw speed. Our black latex still wins the durability/performance balance (the Precise will wear faster), but we prefer both over TBG for quite some time now.
@@simpleshot I ordered TBG bulk,and pouches,they came in 2 days,thanks for the quick delivery.
@@rackum44 You're very welcome. Thank YOU!
Can i use the band set in the viedo to hunt squirrels
Indeed. Make sure you match your ammo appropriately and are accurate. Accuracy wins the day.
Squirrels are TOUGH, so you have to put that shot down where it needs to be!
Ok thank you very much
Mr nathan what would be a good hunting setup from your website band wise other than the gzk nitro
are squirrels extinct yet?
double layers are generally for hunting using heavy 10mm and up lead ammo and boy they pack a wallop
yes indeed. I walked away from double bands. Single is more accurate and much more efficient in every way.my accuracy has started to improve. Double bands look bad A** but that's about it.
Dude, it's over for double bands....more effort/less accuracy, what we all NEED TO KNOW IS... is it latex, thera, pink black or white. Its the rubber on the road syndrome. Went through 10,000 9.5mm lead but, now I shoot 11mm steel, single 40_25 Aye they are all dead!!
This is with our Premium Black Latex.

So true!
Just a waste of time and effort using double layer bands.
If you want less of more power. Adjust the thickness of the bands you are using
Its not rocket science
But the way some people try to really complicate the art of just. Shooting a slingshot. Ridiculous. Lol. 😂🤔😇
>inches/pounds 🤮
🤣
