Videl vs spopovich was actually a great fight, animation wise and narratively, it showed us the strength and determination in Videl’s character, built up a lot of respect for her that she may not have had previously with her, especially for those who simply and probably incorrectly viewed her as nothing but a bratty and narcissistic teenager. She was shown as a very capable fighter (unlike her dad is the key point, she isn’t a fraud and is for real)
And her beat down is perfect - though being probably one of the most brutal and gruesome events in the franchise, it acts as a perfect catalyst for her character development, for her to mellow down and humble, whilst showing the extent of the remorseless and power increasing capabilities of being a majin. It shows realism and rightfully scales her bellow magic.
