In this video, we are asking the people of Dharavi what they do for a living.
Earlier we made a similar video where we asked the rich people of India what they do for a living, but Mumbai has 2 sides to the story.
We met a lot of real people in Dharavi who do odd jobs and don't have a fixed income. Due to COVID-19 things became worse. This is the slum that inspired the movie, Slumdog Millionaire.
Inside the Dharavi slums of India. You get to see a lot of unexpected things in the slums of Dharavi.
We were longing to try out this concept of interacting with strangers while making fun of each other. Which we thought would be impractical in India. But, the persistent jokers that we are, we though why not? And that's how came the idea and thee channel name "Because Why Not?"

Dharavi teaches Hustling and Street Smart Skills that last a life, so this place is 5 Universities of Learning Clubbed together. I stay grateful for the Challenges life throws everyday. Yes the Slums Exists but remember that it's the same humans live there too. Not to mention this place gives Billions worth of business to Mumbai thru the Cloth, imitation, metals and leather trade. Basically Mumbai exploits and keeps Dharavi poor so that those billions go to the exploitative owners.
At what cost? People are literally crying for food and basic needs. What's the point if it is making Mumbai rich and public living miserable life, crying for food, basic necessities, fresh air , medicines. It's horrendous.
@@KhushiSimpleLife bro I have lived in dharavi on rent. Its nothing like that. Dharavi literally is a business hub every household run somekind of a business and earn a lot. Some people I know earn in lakhs per month in dharavi. Those who cry for money are mostly immigrants and labours.

I have spent first 26 years of my life in slum with single parent doing most of the things like these people as washing cars, distributing milk and newspaper, selling vegetables, working as waiter. I know completely how difficult their life is. Only after graduating from one of the top engineering college in Mumbai i could manage to get out and live better life. I am 36, worked with top multinationals and now running my own company. I just want to give message to all youngsters that dont waste your precious time on social media. Be grateful to what you have and what your parents are doing for you. Good work from the team "BWN"👍

I am living in dharavi ❤ I have my own 1BHK 700 sq ft, I am a technical graduate working in MNC with monthly 6 digit salary.. my kids are studying in one of the Elite schools located in Mahim. Dharavi has gone to next level due to younger generations in their late 20s.. I do agree this part shown in the video still exists. We have progressed beyond imagination in last 20 years ❤
Why maharastra government is not solving the issue of slums?
@@Kalinga_yodha Slums are there across Mumbai but only dharavi is highlighted. 10 out of 9 houses have both electricity and water supplies provided by Mumbai municipal corporation 😉 they have public sanitation facilities. And people there have one or the other earning for daily living. N number of redevelopment plans were drafted but they are still only on papers last 15 years.. may be they are still calculating on making the maximum profit out of this clearance project 😄
