During the development of the artwork for this song we googled for children living in trash mountains. But instead of the drawings and concept artworks we expected, we saw pictures of actual children living in these conditions. We were shocked and decided that we want to help. Therefor Iâm happy to announce that all revenue from my new song âHungerâ will help children and their families in Manila.
Woah, it's really sad to know that there are people living in these conditions, but it's good to see that you are going to help them with the revenue of your song. You're literally going to save them from "hunger", lol. But jokes apart, Chris, you're such an amazing artist, and I wish you'll be more recognized one day! Keep up the great work you always had of creating such epic tracks!

I think most people can agree that The Fat Rat is awesome
As far as ADHD can be a really debilitating disorder it also can have some benefits. There is often more empathy and emotional depth to be found in people with ADHD (which can be hampered by trauma or by being misused by others). It's often easier for them to make (unusual) connections incredibly rapidly. This can lead to annoyances in others, but breeds creativity.
I say this because the Fat Rat has a facial feature that could indicate ADHD. If you look for it you can't unsee it. It seems the more severe the ADHD is the bigger the gap between the mouth and eyes is. There isn't much research about it compared to the research on facial structures in people on the autism spectrum. In my own experiences it seems that if someone has both ADHD and ASD they tend to equalise and sort of balance each of the facial features out.
I'd urge anyone reading this to look up the research surrounding it and if that's not your kind of thing there is a much more fun exercise to do. Look up the top 30 CZcamsrs, greatest Hollywood stars or any profession where people need charisma and a outward presentation of themselves. When you see that most of those people have a long face/bigger gap, it becomes very obvious that those kind of jobs are well suited to the ADHD brain, which needs constant change and stimulations.
One thing I was wondering when I started playing Baldur's Gate 3 is that because we get exposed to those kinds of faces more of often then not with all this media consumptions that our brains are starting to equate a bigger gap with beauty due to the familiarity aspect of the perception of beauty. I noticed that including the custom starting character most of the characters also present with a much larger than average gap.
I find this all very interesting, but I know lots of people don't like this kine of thought because they dislike the idea of being able to see a mental disorder in someone's appearance. However when you read up on ASD and the influence on someone's appearance you'll soon learn that there is over 50 years of research that confirms it. I wish they did some more measurements on people with ADHD.

Absolutely gorgeous. I can feel the love of a mother to her child, giving up everything, keep on fighting so that her child can have a better life. The part "Hope you wonât see the hunger in my eyes" really touches me, as I know of parents who go to sleep hungry, so their children don't have to.
well, nice point, but people are theorizing that woman in the lore is the older sister doing whatever it takes to protect her little brother (they are orphans). whatever, its really touching

I think it sounds more like an older sibling. In my opinion, a mother would be more accepting of their living conditions, and just be like âtoday, It hurts, it burns, it stings, and it will be like that tomorrow too, but thats the only way I can feed my childâ. This song gives me the feeling that they want to rise up in the world. Itâs irresponsible in a way, thereâs no garuntee that they can move up in the world, and if they fail, they might be in a worse place than where they started. But its due to the older siblings lack of maturity and youthful ambition that they still want to climb up out of their place.

After the first listen my first reaction was just wow! Such a clean production and I can hear so many cool little details. I really would like to see a breakdown of this Song at some point! Its always mindbaffeling how Christian achieves to keep a track interesting the whole way through, while using basically always the same melody and elements but making them each single time so unique and special again that it is not getting tiring, while also not overbloating it and having that finesse, technicality and knowledge where to use what effect/element to make it an outstanding listening experience. That is really what makes TheFatRat stand out for me from many many many different artists!
Amazing job, this is absolutely mind blowing and perfect for an analytical listening experience. All those beautiful Harmonics that are resolving in each other are just massaging my brain.

I am really loving this story of the two siblings so far!
I am wondering how would they use their talents in the future... Will the sister stop using her talent to harm and kill? What would the brother do with his ability to dream, plan, and create?

Just my grain of salt, but by assuming the two who are spoken of in the trailer are the boy and the girl on ths song's cover, it could be about their adventure.
They escaped from slums in Out of the rain and of course they'll have to strive. The boy with his creative talents, build and create tools to aid them on their journey. Hence why he's in the junkyard seemingly crafting something. The girl whose talent is to fight, could be the one keeping both of them safe from 'getting chased' (mentioned in Out of the rain)
I think there's a bandage on her head too. Could be from fighting or etc. That's why she simply want *peace* for them both.
Anyway it's sure to be banger I can't wait to listen to it!

2023 TFR just hits different, all your recent songs have had something extra special, keep it up!
What I imagine based on the current chapters: I can imagine in a post apocalyptic world like in WALL-E, garbage is piling everywhere. Of course, there are massive robots too. Humans still inhabit this Earth, but very few live full lives. The storyline is about two orphans, one who has the ability to become a wolf, but keeps it secret from her little brother, who is terrified of any canine due to an incident involving a stray dog. She and her brother would try to find sanctuary amongst the giant piles of trash, where they make a small hideout to avoid the robots manufactured by a company that tries to hunt the wolfgirl down and kill them, believing they would ruin an already dystopian plane. You should try to incorporate my thoughts into this album.

So, from Out of the Rain, the MCs seems to be a boy and a(n older) girl (probably siblings). They live in a dystopian ciity where it is constantly raining. For whatever reason, they are trying to escape, maybe even on the run from someone/thing.
So far, in Hunger, the duo end up in a landfill. Since it could be assumed that they have no money, they are sruck there. The older sister knows this and takes it upon herself and looks for a job. From the lyrics to the slashing sfx, she seemed to have been hired as an assassin/mercenary. Due to her job, she is unable to see her younger brother often.
This song is pretty fire, including that build-up. Can't wait for the new addition to the story!

The lyrics of this song bring to mind the type of story where one sibling takes on a dangerous trade or role like assassination to take care of and support the younger one(s)
Ever since Hiding in the Blue me and my best friend have equally agreed Hiding in the Blue was the peak Fat Rat song and therefore constantly compared all other songs to it, hoping for the day that a new song release would top it. I feel that that day is today, the song Hunger is just completely mind-blowing, as it matches certain elements of Hiding in the Blue whilst still being its own track and adding the zest of the drop, Thank you, this is truly a masterpiece.

It's quite interesting to see how TFR is approaching this new work, in parallax it seemed like every other song was a new take on his music, whereas the rest of their songs were a familiar sound we were used to. However with this one and out of the rain, I feel like he will try to mix both styles so, instead of a half experimental half familar sound that (in my opinion) parallax was (not saying that in any way it was bad, quite the contrary, it was amazing), with this new proyect it will be consisten and thus, a natural switch from song to song, throughout... Really looking foward to this one!!!
