Probably not what you were referring to but I find all of these Pixar/Disney animated shows extremely boring. Every year they come out with a very well animated but highly cliche, cookie cutter bullshit movie and everyone acts like its the greatest thing in the world. I get its for children, but its the adults who act like its fucking amazing and never been seen before.

@@j_online9526 When it comes to established and beloved franchises one of the problems is usually that the story is already written in a very optimized way and any changes to the story is far more likely to make it worse rather than better. So, when you try to force a political agenda (doesn't really matter which one) into the story, you're changing it in a way that isn't meant to improve the story but to push the agenda, so the overall story is bound to suffer from it. Another issue is, that Hollywood seems to have almost completely forgotten how to write strong female characters. They either write a strong male character that they just make female, making the change meaningless or they make they become so afraid to offend anyone that they forget to give the character any real flaws making the character extremely uninteresting. Another thing they tend to do is, instead of making the character strong and showing how strong she is by making the adversaries strong and threatening, they make the adversary and surrounding characters completely incompetent in order to show how much stronger the character is. The problem isn't the diverse characters per se, it's mostly a recognition of a pattern that sounds off warning flags every time you see one. Personally I find it very compelling when we get to see properly done diverse characters. But, when ideology becomes first priority the story is bound to suffer. Writing a good story is hard enough when it's the first priority, making it second priority causes it to become borderline impossible. I apologize for the essay, but I hope you got somewhat of an answer to your question.

To me that 'Raya and the Last Dragon' seems a bit... I don't know... cookie cutter? I have a feeling the entire premise behind that movie is "let's show a girl being tough", and that's it. Needs more substance.
Yeah we really don't need another "im a woman and i can do anything" movie. We get it middle age female studio execs, you have an inferiority complex that you want to project on the target audience of mostly younger girls.

I sort of agree. I think more than just showing girls can be tough - like boys - we need to see how girls can be tough - like girls. Dealing with a period, the bleeding, the cramps is tough. The fact that almost no one wants to even talk about it makes it even harder. Dealing with boys who don't want you to play with them because you're a girl is tough. Dealing with girls who gossip behind your back is tough. Trying to work in traditionally "men" industries like construction, STEM, politics, is tough. I think just showing a girl doing some kung fu is pandering and ultimately not that empowering. We need stories that show little girls how to be confident in who they are despite all of the people who will try to tare them down.

@@sursdropman It's a cover of "Eclipse" Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon. It is a little hard to hear the lyrics in Zimmer's theme, but they apply a fair bit. "All that is now. All that is gone. All that's to come. And everything under the sun is in tune, but the sun is eclipsed by the moon." In the album, the overarching theme is that human nature, particularly wrath and greed, which are both present in Dune, is the thing that blocks humanity from harmony and peace. Additionally, the director of the original Dune TV movie from the early '80s had wanted Pink Floyd to produce music for the movie, so this is likely a callback to that fact.
Sorry for the long rant. Just explaining why the music makes sense in context of Dune.

The music is way to relaxing and back-bone off. Just rapid example - Edge of Tomorrow - first drop/attack from aliens. All the visual have is dynamics, but music is way heavier than needed. A lot of good movies...aaaaand Survival Game.
Why does Hollywood feel the need to ruin every single franchise it gets ahold of? They're going to ruin 'Monster Hunter'..they had a highly successful franchise, great story and a great basis for bringing that to the big screen. However, they did what they always do and completely re-write everything, because they truly believe that they know better than the actual creators and the fans. The "Sonic the Hedgehog" design is a fine example. The franchise was wildly successful and people LOVED his design. What did they do?? They completely change the design because they think that they know more than the creators and more about what the fans want, than what the fans knew they wanted. It's really simple, Hollywood. If there is a very successful franchise that you're planning on bringing to the big screen, or planning on remaking, then take what has already proven to be successful and bring it to life. You need to change everything about it or rewrite an already successful story. All they end up doing is destroying it. Another fantastic example of this is the remake of 'Mulan'. People loved 'Mulan' as it was originally and it was already VERY successful, but they decided to completely destroy everything that made it great. It was a fantastic story about a young woman overcoming obstacles by using her mind, skills, determination and wit. What do they do?? Oh, they give her magical powers and completely ruin everything that was great about the story.
I wish Hollywood would crash and burn, so that it could he re-booted back to how it was in the days of actually playing to the audience and built-in fan bases. You know, back before they started listening to the Radical Leftists on Twitter and before they would change everything about a franchise to make a very tiny, but very loud minority, happy about the "direction" of the franchise. Back before they catered to people who AREN'T even going to pay money to watch the movie in the first place. They don't buy merchandise, they don't pay to watch the movie and they don't support the movies/games financially in any way. They just want to control things..STOP allowing this to happen.
True that. The should also try and learn not to mix two "Seperate" universes. In the lore of monster hunter world the gravity works different thats why your characters don't get fall damage. its an example of how hollywood never reads into the universe they want to make a movie about. And i can go on about how the Militray dudes are going to get fucked in the beginning and that only handfull make it out even tho they all should be dead. And even worse is that the Fucking LAW HAS LOCK-ON LIKE WTF. I would be nice if hollywood could follow the simple rule of if its real keep it real and if its unreal keep it unreal.
Well the monster hunter movie doesn't look that bad from the video game but it could be good but I respect the fans and it's understandable.

@Nikita Zolotarov if you’re referring to the Wyvern that burrows underground in the trailer constantly, that’s Diablos. Diablos has been a mainstay in the Monster Hunter franchise since day one (so 2004). ARK has Monster Hunter mods but they aren’t originally from ARK.
Well if they ported something over completely then the director / attributing production / writers would be unable to claim anything besides copying (Kinda like how people like to reinvent or rename things), I mean its understandable to a degree. There are also things that get translated horribly when going from fantasy to live-action (not always, but for the most part a lot of things do not transition really well). There is also a consideration to be able to find a wider audience because of money.
Cant really keep everyone happy. Its either a direct copy or enough freedom to make it stand out and hopefully not fall flat. But yea I agree with you, just need better advisors to be in part of making a movie if its from a video game or do a community outreach to fans (because most are lost on how things work or plan out... I mean look at fan fics and stories random people come up with or even youtube theory videos, most of those plots sound and work much better than anything Hollywood would every come out with). Or you pray for a real fan of the series to direct or luck out like the marvel franchise.
