This is a father and daughter song. So touching !
Willie is a national treasure. I hope when his life here end, one of his family members will put his old guitar in the Smithsonian . It belongs in a place for musical history for all to see. Thank you
I wish people would stop talking about when he dies. Not to be nasty but let's celebrate the living man and hope that he goes on for years
I believe the Smithsonian already has a claim upon it.
@@xine9997I absolutely agree!
@@jeffsaltzman7935 😂😂😂🇪🇸but he,s the BEST, sorry muy english
Have had the pleasure of meeting him when worked security at party at his place near Austin
Paula has such a soulful voice. What a talented family!
I love this mellow version better than the original one by CCR. This one is sort of melancholy and thoughtful, and it makes one reflect on life. Goes to show there is more than one way to sing a song.
much much much better than the original
Sacriledge. I love em both.
CCR is sacred to me, being a child of the 60s, this popped up and I gave it a listen- damn good. Her voice is fine, fine and Willie... have to put it on my Willie playlist!
Willy is one of a kind, hope we hear more of his son when willy is lost to his many fans!
How beautiful their voices are together. Well done both
I wish they sang together more often. This is downright beautiful.
Willie can take any song and make it sound better. Hope he lives forever. When I grow up I want to be Willie. I'm 56 now !! lol
you are so right so do I lol I'm 59
54 here...saw Willie live in concert....yeeee haaaaa
I'm also 59 and life couldn't be better. All the music I've loved for so many years, all here, all free, and soooo many great versions. This has always been my favorite CCR song (ok, there's lots of other faves too). But really, how blessed are we to have lived these amazing songs and get to relive them when we choose. Long live music. Forever.
well said. well put. may that comment live forever.
I'm 62 now and have been to see Willie over 15 times that I can remember. Especially the infamous 4th of July 1976 Bicentennial Picnic, in Gonzales Tx. To this day people in that town still talk about that picnic.
One of the most beautiful duets I've ever heard 💖
Hello So sorry for the infringe on your privacy. Beautiful song.

@@susanmcwatters6438 I live in Mansfield Texas. How’s your city handling the pandemic over there?
Just saw this on Big little Lies. Such a beautiful rendition of a great CCR song. Nobody else could've done it better.
Heard this for the first time tonight closing out an HBO show.... it honestly took my breath away. So beautiful it lumps up my throat and makes my eyes leak...only Willie can do that.
me too...
Of course Willie can do that.... He's the last of a dying breed. It saddens me what music has become.
Trisha- Totally agree, just beautiful...Have you ever seen the video of Willie Nelson and his son Lukas singing a duet cover of Pearl Jam’s- JUST BREATHE- If Not Please check it out- it’s also a great Willie take on another Classic Rock song--Big Willie Nelson fan....
@@jj.harvey4067 Willie can make any song better n Trigger sounds deliriously amazing
I love me some Willie, but these songs are in a class by themselves.
I never get tired of listening to him! My dad took me to a concert here in WI at the State Fair in the early 70's. Loved him then (at 14!) And 40+ years still love him!
Great rendition of a great song, as only Willie can do ! I love Paula's unique, raspy voice.
Best rendition I've ever heard! so much heart!
Awesome duet. Awesome balance from everyone in the band. Thank you!
What a beautiful duet, father and daughter ; I swear that Paula has her fathers way of singing; The way she brings out her lyrics , she’s a female Willie Nelson ; You go Girl 👍🏻
Willie Nelson is and will always be totally LEGENDARY.x
Lesley Duke I believe Willie should have been King of Country Music!
Lesley Duke asi es Toda una leyenda dips lo bendiga siempre
Always!
TIMELESS!
Yes,he will.Always and forever
Willie is immortal, he will be with us till we cross over to the yonder life and what a party it will be...😊
I believe Creedence Clearwater would appreciate this cover by Willie and Paula Nelson ..Brilliant.
Thanks for sharing.
Just astounding! I have been a true Willie groupie since I was 12. I am now 57 and he has never disappointed nor lost his way. His talent, uniqueness perseveres. Love, truly love this man.
I didn't think these two great voices could meld together but they sure did. It was great to hear an old gruff sounding voice blending in so well with a young angelic voice.
I am happy I played this video.
I had the honor and privilege of seeing "every" concert of "Willie Nelson's" in my home state, thanks to my Mama! I love this artist, but I love my "Mama" more! Thank you!
Hope you're Moms well🙏🏼love her while you can ❤️I really liked your comment 💔💕✌️

Intoxicating... a Spiritual Mantra-like Beautiful Song. Yes! I have seen the Rain coming down on a Sunny Day. May yours, Willie and Paula, be special now. 🎉
Found it at the end of "Big Little Lies" - another hugely moving TV series. Wish they both would go on forever.
Always interesting
thanks for sharing 👍
Hello Catherine how are you doing!!
Better than country. Willie is a genre by his self.
True stuff
Total agreement there
When he plays Trigger it’s magic. I call it Gypsy guitar and oh, how I love ir

He is definitely the LEAGUE!
Great song selection for the Big Little Lies season finale!
I worry that it was the series finale.
I just read the story of how you saved the white horses. Made my heart sing.
It's obvious that Willies talent was passed to his children. They are all very good. Willie is & will always be the man. Love you Willie
Pass the doobie and salute ole Willy. Awesome interpretation!
Love her voice first time hearing it .
Terry Murphy agree me too
Fogerty adn Bob seager
Same here she's great
Reminds me of Dolly Partons voice
It literally gave me goosebumps the second she started. She's got Willies voice, but in a female range.
I love Paula's voice more ,every time I hear her sing!

Absolutely heartfelt Will I have wrote a song for you about a man struggling to say goodbye to his dying beloved sipping southern comfort to ease his mind and having a heart to heart talk with his soul as he looks back on their life
Willie Nelson IS LOVE for all our world!
Beautiful love willie Nelson.
Wow ..I am a huge CCR/ John Fogerty and Willie fan and now a Paula Nelson fan . Seems Willies kids inherited the gift . Very well done .
give Lukas Nelson a spin 💞
Willie's 2 sons are touring with Neil Young in Promise of the Real.

He adds soul to any song. I love his versions better than originals.
No one has a better vibrato to their voice than Willie, simply unique and legendary! One of the last great outlaws!
Just heard this version today. WOW, Paula has a beautiful voice!!! Hoping you continue to be able to be heard, because you really are talented!!
Absolutely best version I have heard
This is truly the best!!!! There is no words. Omg.

I just turned 51. I went to middle school with Paula in Idaho Springs Colo. She was the most beautiful human, I had ever seen. It was here 1st day there too. We were friends for about 2 weeks...before the river of Fame, money and status current swept away our differrent paths.
It is sad to see her now. Makes me glad, I was from the poor end of town. Came to the same ends.
Too cool
Wish it was me
A man from our neck of the woods down here in Georgia - Chips Mowman - produced some of Willies albums (Poncho & Lefty) - Chips has a daughter, Monique Mowman - Monique did some backup vocals for Willie on a few albums - My Dad went to High School w/ Chips in the 50's.. I knew Monique when we were teenagers .. I havent seen her in quite a few yrs.. in the 80's, she had come home for a visit from Nashville.. She was visiting another mutual friend that lived next door to my folks house.. went over to say hey to her.. She gave me one of Willies guitar picks.. custom made solid brass one .. I still have it in my guitar case!!.. that was almost 40 yrs ago!! 😊
Some don't realize how hard it is to play this song like this on the classical guitar 🎸!
Really good rendition of this song...in fact a superb rendition!!
Such a beautiful version of a great song - nice going Willie and Paula@@
Willie is one of the last true American heroes. Have loved Trigger and Wille for years. Everytime he came to the east coast I went to see he and his band. I have spoken to some great guitarists and the say he's the best.
Keep on playing Willie and I'll keep on listening.
Talk about father & daughter's voices blending together. Wow, Willie & Paula!
Great Song - Uncle Willie and family
Brings a warmth to my heart and a tear to my eye - such a magical voice...
WILLIE, YOU ARE THE BEST. WE HAVE SOMETHING IN COMMON WILLIE........WE BOTH WERE BORN IN 1933. MY SON JIMMY INTRODUCED ME TO YOUR MUSIC MANY MANY YEARS AGO.
Someone told me long ago
There's a calm before the storm
I know it's been comin' for some time
When it's over so they say
It'll rain a sunny day
I know shinin' down like water
I wanna know
Have you ever seen the rain?
I wanna know
Have you ever seen the rain
Comin' down a sunny day?
Yesterday and days before
Sun is cold and rain is hard
I know been that way for all my time
'Til forever, on it goes
Through the circle, fast and slow,
I know it can't stop, I wonder
I wanna know
Have you ever seen the rain?
I wanna to know
Have you ever seen the rain
Comin' down a sunny day?
Yeah
I wanna know
Have you ever seen the rain?
I want to know
Have you ever seen the rain
Comin' down a sunny day?

Not a big fan of country music but I could listen to Willie Nelson all day, always makes a song his own.
I have always believed that once john fogerty sings a song then everybody else should just leave it alone because it's not going to be any good. And here willie takes a top ten all time greatest hit and and does this to it. And its just plain awesome. Way to go willie
I think that by now Willie Nelson must have recorded a cover of every song that has ever been written. His catalog of albums is so vast that I had to build an additional room in my house to store them all. If they ever put out an anthology of his recordings it should be titled "Willie Nelson Sings Every Song From Every Corner Of The World That Has Ever Been Written Since The Beginning Of Time, Including Polka."
Paula is a chip off the old block.Talented
CCR was the first album I bought when I was a kid. This is one of the best covers I've heard of John F's songs
This beautiful delicacy of harmony.I can only ever be an audience, but am able to know the sublime through this.Thank you from my heart.
Was an absolutely well told story for the characters on Big Little Lies. I enjoyed the ending.
Love the use of the song in the ending, but hated the ending.
I just have to admit that I've got to like Willie's interpretations of songs in my latter years.
I love all who love Willy Nelson. LOVE

Very well put Duke, he gets into your soul. An absolute master. All our love to you guys on the other side of the big pond from Liverpool UK.

A masterpiece of CCR and Nelson one country King:excellent! !!! Great video and always wonderful Nelson
Willie is getting pretty close to being about the only country singer left from the 1950's other than Loretta Lynn and he sounds as awesome as ever
It would be great to hear those two duet.

Love'n you, Willie and Family!... What a tribute.
It just struck me that Willie has the unique ability to capture the music between the notes. Just listen to his guitar licks and you’ll know what I mean. He squeezes out every note...

Here from Big Little Lies. What a beautiful cover of a beautiful song by Mr. Nelson and his daughter Paula. Willie really is a master of covering great songs, like this one and Nine Inch Nails' Hurt and my personal favorite, Coldplay's The Scientist.
Ron Rice Johnny cash covered hurt. And he did an awesome job at it. I wish Willie Nelson did but if he did I can’t find it and I’m sure it would’ve been great!
@@apersononyoutube1496 Sorry about that, you are of course correct!
What an amazing song to use at the end of “Big Little Lies.” Could not have picked a more perfect song! Beautiful!
an old school poet with a guitar beauty and simplicity at it's finest.
Yes I have and its beautiful. One of my wilderness excursions. Standing in the rain with this huge circle of blue sky and sunshine.
I really don’t carry for Paula’s voice but I do respect her for having such professional and talented singing abilities.
Thanks “Big Little Lies”! Got chills seeing the “Monterey 5” walking into the police station at the end.
This is a beautiful duet song! Go Willie and Paula! Her voice is amazing. Perfect for the final song of Big Little Lies. Can’t wait for the next season.
When he leaves us I will cry like he was a family member or a close Club brother. Sing forever Willie Nelson. Going to a concert is on my bucket list. I'm 60 love in Texas and don't think I will ever
What an incredibly beautiful duet... and even after hearing this song for years, I never understood the words until Paula Nelson sang it with him. Tears of sorrow, tears of joy, go on and on and on and on...

His daughter has a powerful voice, i love it.
Oh my didn't know that was his daughter she sings so lovely
glad I finally got to hear this, can't believe I missed this version for so many years. Great choice for the Show
I'M a 58 year mom of 5 - 40 year old Destiny 38 year old Paul 36 year old Carl 34 year old Scot and 25 year old "Maxx"amillion 9 grandsons 4 granddaughters and one greatgrandaughter and at one time at age 17 I was left in Spicewood Texas. Funny I was the only resident at that big old dark house. I always heard Willie had a golf course out there. I was always lookin' for him, always & always he's been my favorite and I love listening to his children. Destiny played Mama's Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys for my Mom, & she moved her silent eyes. It was the last song my Mom heard. Her Birthday was the other day and of course we played it and all Her favorites. Mom was a Music Major and with MUSIC THERE'S NO PAIN, EXCEPT THE GOOD PAIN. This song, my Mom & Dad and Willie kept me alive as I turned into an alcoholic at age 25. I was in and out of rehabs. I was the only one in my immediate family of six. I finally quit having to go to rehabs around age 50. Those weekend binges when the kids were with their Dads. This song isn't a "trigger" (Willie's guitar, right?) To me this song is a savior, "a rehab song" sober living, survivalist, yeah that's who I am. Rehab can be great, fun, especially in music sessions, singing Willie song's and at the end of all this creative, therapeutic life. I'm whole, still go to Therapy. (mainly for any neglect I put on my kids) I've attended and ran 100's , 1000's of meetings & just about hated every one of them, except the ones my Mom would have to force me at 30 to go, and she pretended and talked, "shared" & flirted with all the good lookin' guys and I think I looked more at the bikers. LISTENING TO MUSIC NOW TAKES AWAY THE PAIN I PUT MYSELF IN. TWO OF MY BOYS HAVE 2 1/2 YEARS SOBER since the day of myMom's Memorial (Funeral). MY YOUNGEST WENT THROUGH MORE REHABS BEFORE 22 THEN I EVER HAVE AND NOW AT 25 HE'S RUNNING A SOBER LIVING OF 8-10 ADDICTS. STILL GETS DRUG TESTED 3 X'S A WEEK. SEAKS IN HOSPITALS AND WORKS WITH MENTALLY ILL ADDICTS, TAKES HIS VACATION TO GO ON A MISSION TO MEXICO TO BUILD ORPHANAGES (NOT CAGES) & PLANT BEAUTIFUL GARDENS FOR THEM TO WATCH GROW AND HE SINGS & THEIR LANGUAGE HIS SAVIORS SONGS TO THOSE LITTLE CHILDREN. WHEN WE ALL GET TOGETHER NOW HE DEFINITELY DOES NOT WANT TO TALK ABOUT drugs & booze. Now we make new memories, traditions and bring back the good as there was a lot of good in all of our past. Someone had to work. HA HA I have a kind hearted family and smart, well hell yeah their intelligent and we play, sing and listen to music. From Willie to SID. Now that the meetin's over. Y'ALL Pray there is a God to help this country and I sent this song to all my fellow users & supporters already, after the fourth time I had a long hard cry about everything and now I have to send it to Maxxamillion in AZ, ( where the rain comes down on a sunny day) & maybe he'll do a duet with me. Willie, Paula, trigger, CCR. GOOD MUSIC & KARMA TO Y'ALL FROM MY GREEN CHAKRA HEART, TERRIE WESSON FROM SPICEWOOD TEXAS
Oh my, that was indescribably beautiful.
Oneshot
A masterpiece

(I love this cover of a great CCR song).
What a brilliant collaberation between these two amazing voices they bring such dedth of meaning to this great song
WOW! Great version of my favorite CCR/JF song. *****
"Have you ever seen the rain coming down on a sunny day"? When it's all said and done, we're just here to observe. We are witnesses. I'm glad I've gotten to see Willie!
Me to👍🏻
I've been a fan of Willie since 1973 and I'm still amazed of the genres of music with a nylon string guitar! Even at his age he has a great following. Nobody can match his every changing style. His boys stated that they don't try it because it would hold them back on their music.
This version evokes some strong emotions. Its amazing to me how sound vibrations can bring a person to tears whether they are joy or sorrow.
I really enjoyed this version of the song! Its really relaxing and soft, I don't know about the rest but it got me remembering great moments of my life..
The rain coming down on a sunny day for me means crying hard when all those around you appear to be so joyful.
Because we “fake it ‘till we make it” 🤗
The video is in black and white, but the harmony is in living color. The more I listen to Willie Nelson, the more I like him. He is truly one of a kind. I hope he does more duets with his daughter Paula Nelson whose lovely voice made this a special treat.
