    Dude! Great tutorial, thank you so much! This really helped lighten the intimidation of working with this plugin and the (for me) unfamiliar terminology for the parameters. Great sounding tune! I know this vid is pretty old but hope things are going well. Thanks again :)

    "Had to find out that some people never want the truth.." I can tell you're real af man. You're my inspiration for picking up Ozone and learning to master & you're basically the only person on CZcams who makes quality video's about using it lol Would you be able to do an updated version of Mastering with Ozone? Maybe a wee bit longer to get just that much more in depth? Cheers mate! Keep up the great work!

    Seems to me like I have either garbage earphones, or that my ears aren't trained enough. I could only figure out the difference when you changed the bias. Everything else was kind of similar-ish to me. Lots of listening to do, it seems. Thank you though.

    • @SeanDivine
      @SeanDivine  Před 2 lety +1

      No worries Anant! Tape saturation can be very subtle. It's kinda like compression in that it takes some ear training to pick up on fully but once you do, you'll be able to pick it out every time :)

    Sean what do you think about "slate VTM" tape emulation plugin? And what do you think about slate digital plugins in general? I've never seen you using those plugins in a mix. When it comes to analog emulations it seems like you prefer Waves (or Ozone in case of Mastering) over any other plugin developer.... Is there any particular reason or it's just a matter of habit?

    • @SeanDivine
      @SeanDivine  Před 5 lety +1

      I don't currently use any slate plugins, although I've heard good things about them. I've been using Waves plugins since I started mixing so it's what I feel most comfortable with, love the sound and there are so many great plugins. There are others I use often also i.e. soundtoys, fabfilter, antares

    • @SeanDivine
      @SeanDivine  Před 5 lety +1

      if you push the input drive it will be a lot more dramatic effect. I typically like to use it in a very subtle way

    • @giulioboobzilla
      @giulioboobzilla Před 5 lety

      @@SeanDivine okay, i understand. tape saturation is important sometimes even if itz subtle or digital.
      I'm maybe da more drastic 1 :) using plugins only 2 feel FX more or i leave it raw but datz a taste thing.

    I feel like the vintage tape module is to transparent even when exaggerate the drive to hear how it's effects the track I can't hear a difference 🤣 I'll just use the Exciter module or Kramer tape

    Hey my man, me again haha Could you please explain me how do I get louder track in terms of lufs? I've never got the problem with it, but I can't fix my friends mix, it's just somehow quiet in terms of lufo, but it's actally really loud in terms of rms (-4db). The only way I could find is to boost mid frequencies, but that would mess up the mix. And yeah, when I compare it with my tracks that are -4db rms, my tracks are way louder and puchier.

    • @SeanDivine
      @SeanDivine  Před 5 lety

      are you referring to LUFS integrated or a momentary reading?

    • @BosomNogomPanjIzvali
      @BosomNogomPanjIzvali Před 5 lety

      @@SeanDivine I think it is momentary, because I'm using CS Metering plugin, and it's reading it as a perceived loudness.

    • @SeanDivine
      @SeanDivine  Před 5 lety +1

      loudness and perceived loudness are two very different things. Your friend's mix may also be more dynamic (having more space between the quietest and loudest elements) so, naturally it will have a lower LUFS reading.

    • @mc6505
      @mc6505 Před rokem

      shouldnt this be at the end of the chain? (literally going to tape) Otherwise Ozone might want to eq out any changes? But how can you verify LUFS with this at the end of the chain, if you are adding db's? kind of confusing.

      give it time, mastering can be seemingly subtle at first but it all adds up to make a big sonic difference
