Don’t go for IKEA again as the quality is poor and they’ve become quite expensive lately. I’d recommend Furniture Village. Just make sure the cushion is firm as usually sofas in Britain are pretty soft and you’ll just sink as soon as you’re seated and you’ll end up getting back pain 😵
You could check Habitat too, if you don’t mind online shopping!
Leather feels cold in the winter - but practical as easy to clean.
Fabric sofas feel warmer but can stain.
I would go for muted colours.
Dark color like botlegreen blue are inn and its looks beautifull please do not take gray colour beacuse every house of uk has gray sofa

Furniture village is best . One month ago we bought recliner sofa , king size bed and dining table. You don't believe. Three products are amazing.

Try Argos..it is available online only but their sofas are best at quality and affordable as well. They will send the sample fabric to your house to see if it matches with your walls and if you like quality, that too absolutely free. Try royal blue velvet sofa for colour suggestion as it is very easy to clean however it depends what colour matches with your room.

Hey, really love your content. Keep going Guys! I am an Interior designer and as per my view I would suggest you to go for a Lounger sofa in a soft grey shade and some pop of colour in the cushions. This would put together the entire room and also the sofa will have it's separate identity.

I have been looking for a sofa for the last 6-8 months but the problem is the one you like is too expensive and the one in budget is not that great, I have visited all these shops and always keep a eye on the website but no luck will keep an eye from where you will buy, Even my budget is £1000 -1200. These shops attract customers by writing sale on the window but when you step it everything is still expensive 😊

I just wanted to advise you to please avoid brands like McD/kFc/dominoes (and many other companies, the list is too long) as these companies are responsible and funding the killing of thousands of people (from the past 75 years) (more than 13,000 kids since the last 150 days) and if you feel it is a personal preference to eat or not. I understand. But at least please do not promote it.
