Yeah, this is kinda ridiculous. I can accept that it's not in the style of the trailers, but even when you're not comparing this to the trailers, it's still rough, childish-looking animation.
And yet, there are cartoons for children that have better animation than this.

At this point, make your own show. The story itself has changed so much from the original game it is almost unrecognizable. It’s so bad to the point that if Bobby wasn’t here I wouldn’t even know it was dead cells. Please don’t take our chance for the dead cells show and turn it into this.

Making a whole animated series in the same style as the first trailer would be extremely expensive, an indie studio simply doesnt have the budget for that.

I'm pretty mixed about this... still keeping my hopes up knowing the dead cells team will probably bring something good in any form of media, but hearing Bobby speak French like that was a bit surprising- since I and many people always thought of him as mute. Still will be giving it a watch though!

The trailer left a lot to be desired, they promised the animation of the game's adds and they deliver on that. It's not bad, but comparing yourself to what was promised is a lack of respect
I'm going to give this a chance, but to be completely honest, this doesn't resemble the trailers that this studio made before, and this hardly even resembles a lot of the key elements of the game. This seems like they're trying to take the story of the game and turn it into a lighthearted comedic romp through cheap puns and a seemingly stitched together animation style, a choice that is undoubtedly absurd considering the dark nature of the game's story. I'm really hoping this isn't as bad as this looks to be.

Je comprends que certains apprécient les trailers reliés au jeu originel, et voir ça, ça fait baisser l'estime, mais il faut donner une chance ! Perso, j'attends de pied ferme la sortie de la série, et j'ai hâte de voir comment ça va tourner !

Let's face it, the artistic paste isn't going to satisfy everyone, but it already offers plenty of possibilities. I understand that some people enjoy trailers related to the original game, and seeing this lowers the esteem of the series, but you've got to give it a chance! Personally, I can't wait for the series to be released, and I can't wait to see how it turns out!

People complaining about the art and what not so here's my take on all this.
It looks fine. Not everything has to be state of the art graphics or some amazing MAPPA quality animations. As long as the animation is pretty consistent then it's fine.
It doesn't have to be all serious. Hell basically every dead cells trailer from the OG to Return to Castlevania was light hearted and funny
It doesn't have to be a 1:1 remake of the game into animation form. I'd rather it not be and them make a good story in the universe than try and retell the game in animation form.
So yeah that's just my 2 cents that isn't worth anything.
the animation looks really good though is the thing, people are just mad that its stylized and silly looking
There's a big problem though. It doesn't feature any of the characters from the game except for the king and the beheaded. Shows like the cup head show told a different story while still retaining characters from the game. That's my main problem with it.

After long hours and hours of gameplay I honestly already see the game as quite silly and comedic thing, this animation and style just adds some flair for me XD
It is but it's pretty dark too.
Spoilers if you haven't made it very far.
I mean your character kills a fuck ton of people for no reason, just look at the ossuary("the lucky prisoners had windows in their cells, they died choking on ashes from the ossuary"), the ramparts loading screen says "there's definitely nothing worse than the screams of someone who knows their headed for the edge", he kills his advisor for no reason, he kills his most loyal friend the hand and even needlessly executes his own wife after defeating her instead of just simply leaving and letting her recover from fight. He stomps the alchemist's head in (although I can't say he didn't have that one coming), and doesn't give a flying fuck when tutorial knight dies and kicks her corpse to find a gem or whatever it was.
I'm not sure if he was the one who sent the queen to the shores, but if so that's yet another reason he's an incorrigible ass.
The game does have a light tone to it but that's mostly because you play as the diabolical psychopath that destroyed everything and everyone on that island.
So excited for Pizza Tower series!!!... Wait... Wait, that's Dead Cells... Nice MSPaint graphics, ha-ha... That's a joke, right?... Right..?

Ok ce trailer était le malaise le vrai !
Bon par où commencer ? Le visuel est de bien plus de faible qualité que ce qu'on avait sur des trailers de 2 min en moyenne ... Bon je veux bien le concevoir que c'est difficile et long de faire une série d'une dizaine d'épisodes avec la même qualité sans y passer une éternité mais tout de même...
Ensuite incorporer de nouveaux persos comme Laure et quelques "pnj" épargnés par le Malaise pourquoi pas à la limite pour la narration mais pourquoi changer complètement les antagonistes établi dans le jeu par de parfaits inconnus ?! Main du roi, Gardienne du temps, Géant ... même le Concierge était plus iconique que ces gaillards !
Et pourquoi autant de gens en bonne santé ? Le malaise est une blague dans cette série ? On parle d'une maladie qui a presque tuer et changer tous les habitants de l'île en monstre sanguinaire, humains et créatures humanoïdes (qui sont d'ailleurs absentes dans le trailer). Je pense que pas beaucoup de gens qui ont travaillé sur cette série se sont renseignés ou jouer le jeu de base vu comment c'est à côté de la plaque.
Enfin la comédie c'est bien mais l'univers Dead Cells est tout de même assez sombre, même si le Prisonnier est très cynique il peut être aussi très sérieux dans ses actions. On aurait pu se contenter d'un lien télépathique avec Laure pour quelques dialogues et de langage gestuel vu qu'il a donné sa langue au chat ... Ah pardon il n'a pas de langue !!!
Je ne m'attendais pas à une série à la qualité et au prix de production similaire à Castlevania (faut être honnête c'est pas la même catégorie) mais je m'attendais à une série lié un minimum au jeu de base. A voir ce que ça donnera au visionnage mais pour l'instant je suis très déçu ... Et je ne pense pas être le seul.

All that side that's not what I was expecting aside from bobby who look like bob, the other characters looks so unrecognizable, plus this story isn't even canon. Not to mention the animation style isn't what anyone was expecting, it's so..... different to say the least unlike OG. Will def watch it but my expectations with this is below the ground. I'll just treat it as a fan animation rather than official dead cells animation.

Might as well give it a shot since it is the same animation team that worked on the game trailers. Chances are the art style is a creative choice to emphasize the their sense of humor and the focus on comedy (although it still looks like a generic raunchy adult swim comedy animation in certain aspects). Especially since we get glimpses of quality akin to the game trailers in Laure's design and the background art. However, Beheaded's design got thrashed.
They're also the same studio that made Captain Laserhawk. Take a look at that and then this. I think they didn't get enough budget to do the show in the trailer's style

Never would’ve thought I’d see an indie game get an animated series - much less Dead Cells. (Cuphead did, I know - but that makes sense because it was inspired by cartoons in the first place.)
This looks surprisingly cute for the series. If Dead Cells was going to get an animated series, I would’ve pictured something closer to Samurai Jack, but this could be good.

Ok, the different art style, i can understand. Making an entire *series* with the same quality as the original game trailers will take a lot more money and time, i don't mind the new artstyle at all.

Firts at all, I was kinda dissapointed because this style is something I wasn't expecting, BUT, after a second glance, it has some aspects that I like a lot: the backgrounds, that gameplay HUD for a moment was a amazing, the soundtrack, the lore additions.. so I'm still excited to see this

Анимация - Помните как все слюни вытерали от трейлеров? Помните как мы увидели тизер сериала, в классической рисовке? Забудьте! Рисовка и анимация здесь, это самородок, но такой, коричневый! ВЫ ЧЁ В ПЕЙНТЕ ЭТО РИСОВАЛИ? ПОЧЕМУ НА ГОЛОВЕ БОББИ ТУПО ЗАЛИЛИ ОДНИМ ЦВЕТОМ? ПОЧЕМУ ЭТОТ ЦВЕТ ТАКОЙ ТЁМНЫЙ? Вы создали монстра! Жанр - Жанр будет похоже комедией, и как же смешно в начале звучит музыка из игры, вся такая серьёзная, и трейлер начинает шарманку для самых маленьких, где всё дёргаеться, пищит и тд.
У меня сердце кровью обливаеться от того, что это наследие одной из моих самых любимых игр. Что то мне подсказывает, что изначально (со времён тизера) мульт должен был быть более каноничным, как минимум в плане рисовки, но так как поддержка игры остановилась, планы поменялись. В итоге нам, фанатам Dead cells, которые часами проводили время в этой замечательной игре, дали не красивое завершение истории одной роглайт-метроидвании, а избиение трупа. На этом с меня всё. Покойся с миром, Dead cells...

My excitement of seeing this exist was overwhelming. Then, immediately crushed with the realization that it won't be anything like the game. Like, I get the anger from not getting the trailer style, but. What about the lore??? I, where?? Are literally every other character???? Even the king got stereotyped, the fuck?????

I love deadcells, but his animation is just not doing it for me. Artstyle is conpletely different from the game and trailers, looks cheap, and doesn't even have the same tone as the game at all. Not too upset i'll be missing this, France can keep it.
