    Three main things to remember:
    1) The Ceed GT is an amazing automobile. Thomas is a great reviewer.
    2) Germany is beautiful and I miss living there.
    3) Birds are first, humans are second.

    19:11 Totally agree Thomas. It should be pull to shift up and push to shift down as that's that natural orientation of the gforces on your body when accelerating or braking. So it makes more sense to follow the same motion.

    Kia really lifted up its game with this gt ceed. The exhaust from outside and inside sounds pretty good too...and the rear styling looks like a BMW..not a bad looking car. I saw the exact same car here in Australia and it's got a spoiler at the back and it looks awesome. If I have to buy a new car hyundai i30 N line and kia ceed gt are top to test drive

    This car is really the same as the Forte 5 in Canada. Although I have a 2017 and so this 2020 Ceed platform is an upgrade. The safety features are the same along with the 1.6T engine. Wonderful car and a good balance between sport and comfort. It has performed well in all conditions and that includes winter snow and cold temperatures, which of course we have. In terms of value, this car is equipped in Canada with all features as an SX model. New at 30,000 $ CAD. A Golf GTI with similar equipment is 36,000$ CAD so quite a difference. Kia and Hyundai have become very popular and I have seen that VW and others are working to catch up on price and features. So far they are all loosing! Thank you for the good report and I have subscribed. Kevin in Mississauga.

    Hello. The new CEED looks good, especialy in GT version. I like the sound of engine, something like a growl. The first and second generation of CEE'D had a boxy shape and the rear legroom was a little better but this new generation looks more stilysh and this goes to a minus in terms of space. By the way Thomas ... good driving technique. Keep up the good work!

    10 Years I've owned a kia pro ceed 2008 plate. 10 years and only two problems which cost me a minor £250 total. Literally the best car ever. I've carried wood out the back end of it, done multiple trips to the dump, driven for hours. So many cars on the market tempt me to leave KIA, but, my experience with this one I just can't not. Tempted to get this car, or keep mine for even longer to see how she goes and buy a nice used one at a decent price in a few years!

    Oh, almost forgot about the full lenght review. Great work Thomas and team! Spot on review as always! It's such a nice car and the price reallly is great. It's Fiesta ST power in a Focus sized car. Well, I guess the Fiesta ST drives better but I made a test drive with the ST and after half an hour I couldn't feel my legs as the seats are so tight (I'm 1.90 and 98 kgs).I was really looking forward for the normal Ceed GT review, everybody else is doing the Proceed GT one. Keep it up!

    Looks like the equivalent of the 2019 Hyundai Elantra GT N-Line offered for sale in the USA. With the manual transmission, that's going for about $24k, but you don't have the option to have the nicer audio system and a few other things. Adding the DCT takes the price point up to just over $25k. Add on audio / nav package (DCT equipped model only) and the price bumps up to $29k. That price band is in direct competition with the VW GTI here in the states (advertised street prices). I think that it would really boil down to driver preference when comparing the Korean and German offerings. As always, thank you for the detailed review!

    one thing i have seen nobody say about this and the proceed is the steering wheel feels so small in your hands, I am getting the new proceed GT delivered in about 7-10 days and it was a great car but genuinely i couldn't get over how thin and small the wheel feels. still a great car for the price. I30n is more performance orientated but feels a bit cheaper inside, ceed and proceed GT feel nicer inside but less performance orientated so it depends what you want. i wanted the shooting brake and a DCT transmission so was an easy choice for me plus 200bhp is more than enough power for day to day fun

Nice interior but a bit gloomy - prefer light coloured interiors. Much enjoyed your 'Active' driving part, and commentary. The DCT worked well. Not keen on firm suspension - with our very poor road surfaces! Many thanks Thomas, for your professional work.

  • @kaz3d
    @kaz3d Před 5 lety +4

    Such a shame Australia misses out on the Ceed GT - very elegant, sleek and a proper sporty looking hatch. We're left with a very awkward looking Cerato/K3 GT hatch instead (side profile, d pillar and rear at crossover SUV like proportions).

  • @madsdgdhg
    @madsdgdhg Před 5 lety +1

    Good review. I still remember your first review of the first Ceed GT. Actually I have the photos of that review because I ended buying one.
    I think this generation GT lost some aggressiveness on the front. The bumber is not as aggressive and I really like the way the led ice cubes look on the first generation.
    They really missed the opportunity to increase the horse power a little bit. If I was looking for a car this would probably be my choice. But having the previous gen GT I don't see changes enough to be tempted to "upgrade" in a couple of years.
    By the way, the GT is not rival of the likes of Golf Gti ou I30 N or other hot hatch. It's rival of cars like the Megane GT, the 308 GT, Astra turbo, etc. All cars around 200hp. We can call them warm-hatches. Cheers

      For every person who wants spoilers and lasers strapped to everything there's someone who likes this conservative look. It's all subjective. Unless you're on the track every weekend 200hp is enough for the real world. I think they intentionally did it to meet a certain price-point. Not everyone's willing to shell out for an i30N that you're going to take to a track once a year. Don't drive like an idiot on public roads y'all.

    Fantastic review! I like that you touch on so many aspects of the car. From some interior details to handling and pure fun from drive.
    I can only wish this was Proceed GT instead, as it feels even more interesting and modern with a bigger boot and this 204HP engine. I am looking for a car in this price range and it feels like the right choice. I can't stand Mazda's 3 infotainment without touch screen and its many small drawbacks with biggest disappointment being low horsepower engines without any turbos. It just does not fit for a 2019 compact car. I am also not keen on Ford ST line's interior. While it drives well its dash and steering wheel looks like from 2005, also 3 cylinder engine? Pass for me. There is always VW and Skoda but KIA looks like a breath of the fresh air and this KIA's DCT with paddle shifters is absolutely one of the best in this segment in my opinion. Keep up the great work!

    Just a quick question Thomas - I've been wanting to know the purpose of those rear plastic black trims that is on either side of the hatch's rear glass area that connects with the top rear spoiler. Any thoughts? Noticed they suddenly popped out with a lot of newer hatchback designed vehicles when a number of years back they weren't even there. I don't think they have any aerodynamic reason to be there or aesthetic gain. Honestly don't like them because I think they're a bad design element.
    As for the car, I like it a lot. Kia/Hyundai creating a great number of really good looking vehicles that won't bust your budget. They have one of the best and easy to decipher/learn infotainment set-ups and a thumbs up for physical buttons. Fantastic review.

    I love this channel I really do and I have no criticism of it what so ever and that includes all the testers and staff, they are all outstanding and have superb qualities.
    As for the worlds cars, god they are becoming more and more boring month by month, they are becoming the same old story, same old dashboards/fascias/bezels/steering wheels......the exteriors and interiors are becoming increasingly difficult to clean as are the alloy wheels.
    To me, the most un-complicated cars are still Volkswagen and if they are not to careful they will go the same way, I think the modern motor vehicle has reached an age of complication and bullshit that does not add to the driving experience.

      Middle tunnel is low and small as in many compact cars so small gear knob would be hard to reach. This way you can rest your hand on an arm rest and still be able to grab it I guess. That being said I also prefer the look of smaller gear leavers and without this leather pouch like in manual.
