The toughest guys are the nicest and humblest ones. I have read that the idea behind Special Forces training is to stripped a guy to bare minimum psychologically to get rid of all egos, identities, flashy ideas and facade and rebuild the person from scratch with raw truth. That explains why these bravehearts are so brutally honest in all their assessments. Major Avinash and the likes are some of the toughest people on earth.

Being from Northeast it's a little difficult to move around in the rest of India because of our facial features but we are Indian at heart, mind and soul. I was born and brought up in Meghalaya, Shillong for the first 22 years of my life and visited many parts of India until that time. I belong to North Indian sect of community which is very unfortunate for me. I was never brought up with an ideology about being communal to my fellow countrymen. I did not know or maximum people from there don't know what Hindus or Muslims or Christians are all about. What we knew is we are one who were always neglected by rest of our countrymen until early 2002. Trust me the education system there is one of the best to be found in the country as education there is not business as it appears in rest of our country. If government give people of north east their due share our country will definitely reach new laurels. People of north east of India have always been deprived of their due share in the course of time and were only exploited by the politicians. They are good at heart people and not wicked or cunning as mentioned by the veteran.
You have never heard any incident of heinous crime as rape from any part of north east of India as we come across daily from rest of the country. We know how to respect our women. Lot can be learnt from northeast India to have a civilized society and make our country livable for fellow folks.
I know it's lengthy what I have written but this is true, we just need to introspection ourselves
Thank your for your services for North east fellow countrymen and this beautiful nation and sharing the observed reality with rest of our country. Jai Hind

Being a bengali studying in UP, having classmates from Delhi, what I understood is that the acceptance levels of people from central and northern India is very less, they can’t fathom the fact that with a country like ours, heterogeneity is the norm. I am not generalising but the narratives are set in that way.

There is no Terrorist in NE it’s insurgents. While appreciating what your doing Ranveer saheb. These kind of conversation is sensitive and it can easily hurt the sentiments of our people if any false/uneducated comments is passed on, it needs thorough education about our land before one can comment or give their inputs regarding our land. These insurgents groups our to us freedom fighters. It’s a political issue and so we’d appreciate if you don’t tag them as terrorists. Thank you

Being from northeast India .. Manipur to be precise ..I have never been made to feel like an Indian ( I was born an Indian and I will die an Indian and I am as proud as much as my fellown Indians). I have been asked to prove my nationality when I am in my country where I had to show my Indian passport. My question is why in our education system no history is being taught about the states of northeast. Manipur .. Tripura . Assam and the others states which have their own unique history and unfortunately which still does not have a place in the text books of our Indian history ... How else will the younger generation learn about us when nothing has been taught about us ... Trust me ask any person from northeast India about the history of India .. You would be surprise we would know much more about our country than any person from other non northeastern states. And ask any person from Delhi .. Mumbai or any other metropolitan states about Manipur .. Nagaland .. Tripura .. Mizoram .. I guarantee you half of them would not even know about us or know where these states are located ... Anyway we need to study and learn more about our country .. A tree must love the ground on which it stands .. India is not only about Delhi .. Mumbai . Gujrat etc ... There are also a part of India which needs more attention and recognition ... These ignored regions are also a part of the country and probably more patriotic than the so called mainland Indians .. JAI HIND AND JAI JAWAN ..

I want to thank you so much for these interviews, and for conducting them in english. India has a rich military history and is very active in the modern military era. But as a westerner, it's so difficult trying to find accounts of conflicts India's been involved in that's either 1) not told through a British or American filter, 2) in a language I'm fluent in. Please keep it up! And if you ever are so inclined, I'd love it if you could find and interview anyone who was involved with the Meghna Heli Bridge. That operation was a defining milestone in air assault and helicopter tactics, and is woefully undocumented in the west. Sadly, I believe Lt. Gen. Sagat Singh has since passed.

Great podcast. Love to listen to our own SF people speak and share their experiences. It is motivating even in general life. Please keep this up.
It is nice to see Indian YTers getting Indian heroes from daily walks of life a podium and exposure. Fantastic work.
Some feedback (entirely to the host, without any offense):
    1. The questions seem very sporadic and jumps topics almost without closure to the point being discussed.. (Eg: discussion on AK but suddenly moves to injuries to then rivers.) It doesn't feel like a smooth transition. It is almost like I'm expecting a follow up question on the same topic, but the question is something totally different.
    2. We are all awestruck by our defense personnel. Agreed. But please for the sake of viewers dont appear doe eyed or child like. You can see the ease with which the guest is answering. Maintain that same level. Extra gestures, expressions, vocalizations are unnecessary. This is an issue with all Indian shows where hosts are starstruck and think they need to do something extra.
    3. If you have a coffee cup in your hand, at least have a small table with a cup next to the guest (assuming he declined when you offered). Optically doesn't look right.
    4. Please dont suggest speeding up the video. An hour long video to listen to the experiences of someone like an SF commando is actually very short and we want more. If people cant spare 1 hour to listen to someone this inspirational, well... If anyone wants to, it is still ok. But dont suggest speeding up as it implies the guest is slow.
    5. Stick to topics the guest is an expert in. He is an SF commando. You are asking him political, identities, land mass related questions. He is the last person to work in those fields considering his execution skills / training. Why delve into this when you can ask him so many things about his own area?

Whatever else the good and bad of our current government, I will be forever grateful for them bringing in our people in the North East closer to the rest of us by giving them attention and respect.
This Major fought people there and still understands that some understanding will make it ok. Just shows that if even the enemies there are worthy of respect, then the people as a whole are outstanding.
