Richard Rankin does a great job at a real Edinburgh accent. I know hes from Glasgow, but he really does a realistic version of an Edinburgh accent. Hes got all the Edinburgh nuances and expressions. I know a lot of people outside Scotland wont really know the difference. Theres been a few Scottish actors, usually from Glasgow, in the past, who didnt really try. But Richard nails it.

Series is surprisingly excellent. Acting superb, production in general is class, well shot and decent script for the most part.

I thought Ian was just the job a natural successor to Ken Stott.
It started really well until episode 3 when all the robbery nonsense with Rebus' brother and his ex military pals started.
Ken stott is the only rebus new one is crap this is the 3rd actor does that not say something I won't be watching more 🤔
Stott was brilliant, Hannah was all wrong, having watched it, this actor is somewhere in between
