Doesn’t the Amtrak train seem a bit pointless when this is finished?

As pointless as the Tokaido local trains after the shinkansen was finished.

Amtrak serves the entire country. This is only for California.

Hopefully they work with Amtrak when it comes to arriving in Bakersfield with passengers continuing on to LA with the existing Amtrak bus service. Amtrak has more stops overall but the fact that the government never built tracks to LA or Las Vegas sucks. The freight companies wouldn’t allow Amtrak to use their rails for those sections.

Eric Jia No. No it isn’t.
The SF to LA project is dead.
The stupid new California governor just killed it.
      Keep up.
