    Lyrics:
    V 1:
In the depths of the night, your shadow slips away,
Wandering through dreams where we used to play.
Every whisper in the wind, a trace of what was ours,
Leaves me grasping shadows in these lonely hours.
    B-Chorus:
Why does the moon hide behind the clouds?
Why does my heart cry out loud?
    Chorus:
Caught in the echoes that fade away,
Holding on to words we'll never say.
In the silence, I feel you disappear,
Clutching on hope, yet embracing the fear.
    V 2:
Underneath the city lights, where laughter fills the air,
I find myself alone, feeling the weight of despair.
Searching for your warmth in the coldness of the night,
A journey through the darkness, seeking out the light.
    B-Chorus:
Why do smiles seem to twist in pain?
In this masquerade, what do I gain?
    Chorus:
Caught in the echoes that fade away,
Holding on to words we'll never say.
In the silence, I feel you disappear,
Clutching on hope, yet embracing the fear.
Break these chains, let the night unfold,
Seeking solace in the stories untold.
Hope is the beacon in my darkest hour,
Leading me through, with its gentle power.
    Chorus:
Caught in the echoes that fade away,
Holding on to words we'll never say.
In the silence, I feel you disappear,
Clutching on hope, yet embracing the fear.
And through the tears, I fight to see the light,
In the darkest night, your memory shines bright.
Through the whispers of despair, I find a new way,
A glimmer of love, in the dawn of day.
No longer bound by the past, I rise anew

Not normally a fan of metal songs which lean towards this 'despite it all, I will persist' melancholic sound i.e. 2010s Crown The Empire / BMTH but this song is great. I like the instrumentation; the message is nice, the vocals are great and the singer has a pleasant voice -- especially with the harmonization effects in the chorus; this is a nice touch and it's done well. I think each instrument is utilized wonderfully; I enjoy the bass, the supplementary piano, the guitars aren't too present which makes them all that more impactful when they show up, and the drums are, well, drums (not that I'm complaining in the slightest!).
