      @DanielMazahreh Před rokem +3

      Powerful indeed. That quote in the movie also references Prometheus. I admit to being ignorant about that myth, but kind of curious how giving mankind fire is similar. Well, I guess it is. Fire can be dangerous, but also useful. However, the atomic bomb has no value whatsoever. It has to be eliminated as the message for the movie points out as clear. But if we are talking nuclear, then it certainly is useful and dangerous just like fire. Oliver Stone’s documentary Nuclear shares how important it is to go that route to end climate crisis.

It's 3 hour long but goes by so fast. Particular mentions about how great Cillian Murphy and RDJ are in the movie. Cillian is a phenomenal actor and he really embodies the role and deserves the Oscar for best actor when the time comes around. RDJ was the other stand out for me. Delighted to see him get the opportunity to take these types of roles and really show everyone just how good he is as an actor. Really hope he also gets the Oscar for Best Supporting. Highly recommend the movie.

    As a native New Mexican and still living in the state, I wish the film would have touched on 2 key things: 1. I wished the film would have shown the generational negative impact made on the people who lived in the nearby cities Alamogordo and Tularosa, New Mexico which are the closest towns to the atomic bomb testing site. Generations of cancer, death, and active radiation still haunt those small towns after the testing of the bomb, and almost no governmental recognition have been paid to those people and it would have nice for the film to pay homage for the people of New Mexico this greatly negatively impacted. 2. I wish they would have said what happened to Oppenheimer after he created the bombs, his death, his family and their deaths, etc. and how this project greatly impacted their lives thereafter. Overall, this was a great movie and I really enjoyed it as someone who is reminded of the project and its impact almost every day!

    This is exactly why Nolan doesn’t do shows like this. Sunny’s questions was so pandering and condescending at the same time. To limit RDJ to just “iron man” was a slap in the face to how talented he is. From “less than zero,” to “Chaplin,” his filmography shows he is one of our finest actors of the last 40 years.

      While sometimes Sunny's questions are indeed pandering, I think she meant well here. She was in a way, telling people who know RDJ from nothing but Marvel (and unfortunately that's a decent chunk of today's mainstream, younger audience) that he has completely transformed himself to the character.

      I was thinking the same. Like she thought Nolan brought out something in RDJ that never existed before!

    This was a brilliant segment - and I usually skip the guest spots. As a filmmaker, I think Nolan is just about god-tier (and not for his Batman movies - but for almost every other thing he's done), the man is a genius IMO.
    Regarding Robert Downey Junior, I always thought of him as a great actor first and foremost, I used to love his work way back before all the Iron Man movies that made him so popular, so I'm thrilled to see him get the chance to flex his considerable acting muscles in something serious now.
    I too first heard of Oppenheimer through Sting's song and can't wait to see this film.

      Just because some states something more than once does not mean it isn’t true. I noticed you did not attempt to dispute Nolan’s callus take on an actor’s living wage. Very telling.
