Ppl aren't afraid of Xbox leaving the gaming business. We are afraid of Xbox leaving the console business. It's a legitimate concern you might wanna take more seriously.
Why would they leave the console business? I'm almost certain Xbox execs have said they're make more through Xbox software sales than they do on PC currently. That of course could change but it doesn't happen overnight and even if it did there would still be a significant portion of their consumer base on Xbox console. It wouldn't make sense unless console sales were none existant and at that point, no doubt gamers would already be playing elsewhere.
@@H4zz10 just looking at all their moves lately and what they have said both publicly and in private emails, it seems the direction they are headed. Satya recently said 3rd party publishing is their highest priority in gaming right now. We have leaks of the next gen "xbox" and it is a cloud streaming console. And Phil even said they have "lost the console war". Which imo is BS. Seems like they have given up in the console market before really ever trying. And now 50% drop in Europe? Yeah they threw in the towel it seems. It's all about cloud, subscriptions, and 3rd party publishing now. Which is a shame

I've heard some AI researchers discussing the future of movies being full length Hollywood blockbuster production quality films generated by AI for individual people. Like you would be able to see your "perfect movie" of any type and style on demand.
It's pretty hyperbolic sounding, but I wouldn't be surprised if it happens in my life time. That's a scary thought considering how people will get sucked into screens more than they are now
The difference between self checkout lines and Ai in the creative field is self checkout is doing a simple task that doesn't require a person but also creates the job or maintenance on the checkouts. Ai in creative fields isn't creating anything original, its pulling from people's work bypassing paying the people needed for it to even function. If every artist and writer were replaced with Ai the industry would be at a creative stand still because it can only pull from what exists.
xbox is extremely niche in Europe. I as a western european have never heard or seen somebody that has an Xbox. playstation is a verb here

Europe is pretty big though, so it depends alot on geography. The 360 was very popular, but again it depends on your area and circle of friends etc.

DOES anyone know anything about Xbox store not having any 3rd party authorized accessories anymore? Used to be a ton of diff controllers, headsets and stuff by companies like Turtle Beach and Razer, and now, its just xbox brand stuff.

I have not played Armored Core 6 yet but I plan on it. That was Jez's gameplay
2:42:21 What I also love/s about self checkout is that it's so... bad. Like it never really improved. Businesses just kept gradually introducing until along with online purchasing they could fully get away with it. The thing is it's not even more convenient. Literally what happened is they turned their consumers into employees and fired their employees. That said I do think this is on us as consumers and the direction AI goes in will also be on us. It's always been the job of consumers to keep corporations in line and prevent blatantly anti consumer practices. But we've just gotten so complacent and brand loyalists. The moment self checkout wasn't just being used to assist workers on a busy day we should have started boycotting those businesses but we didn't. If anyone is going to become a tool to better gaming, it's up to us to keep things in line. I'll applaud AI so long as it enhances experiences like procedural generation or improve NPCs like a tool, but if it becomes a low budget replacement then I just won't buy those games (though my worry is that writing and AAA game development is becoming so low quality I won't be able to tell the difference anymore 😅).

I live in Europe and xbox does not sale very well because it has a mythical super power of making users enraged. For instance changing UI to a crappy one because Netflix has similar style or prompting users with useless ads. Or adding steaming service to UI (XB1) when the system was underpowered and removing it when the new generation which could handle this feature is about to be released.
Furthermore features like subscribing for using online that sux but at least PS has it's own exclusives. People tend to go with Steam Deck or PC rather then regular consoles guess why all titles are like Xbox play anywhere ... player can customise graphical settings to his need and whenever get a better system adjusts settings to have better fidelity :D
Not like xbox where you have console "version" PC version of the game with cut down settings for the system + additional cost. Xbox has nothing on its side especially where these exclusives* go to PC as well and even to Steam. Buing ABK only strengthens Xbox as publisher not as game platform.
If you think a little more about xbox it';s roots Steam with its steam deck is by far better platform to platy on than xbox. Nintendo Switch is also a sole island on the sea of platforms as you rarely or never get Nintendo exclusives released on other platforms. PlayStation as mentioned has it's exes and haptics in controller ... xbox as a platform has nothing :3

I also think its a major problem that Xbox did not innovate or dont have an answer to the Dualsense, as of writing. Thats what Sony is really pushing and it looks very incentivizing to experience that, a new cool immersive technology coupled with a lot of cool and exciting games. Ghat is novel and very easy to market, kinda like 3d glasses or motion controls, thats what they keep advertizing anyway with the likes of fifa, or even the upcoming avatar.
Let other companies do gimmicks. I honestly can't feel the difference between rumble on the original dual shock and the haptic on a dual sense when I'm engrossed in a game. I couldnt tell with the HD rumble on the switch either. My hands being vibrated is just my hands being vibrated.

The dualsense is very gimmicky. The adaptive triggers just are irritating when playing and ergonomic wise I felt the dualshock 4 was superior. Also the battery life is very short

Ooooo loving the PC specs! I’ve got the same build with 128gb ddr5 ram. Super overkill just to play games but no bottle necks is a W in my opinion! Bought mine from CORSAIR

@@thedoncjg6263 that’s my point. I over did everything on my PC to make sure I get the best quality. Generally people have said to me, “you don’t need all that just to play games.” I say no bottleneck no problems.
They totally lost their focus with ABK. They pulled away from pushing or promoting the console so that it would make xbox look weaker for the regulators.

Go watch both the xbox and Sony showcases and you will see neither company used the term "exclusive" in any of their games. Absolutely the marketing division is in tune with the greater company goals.
This is why Xbox needs to build a better console and attach a game like Starfirld or call of duty to the console. Spider-Man 2 is 5 hour game. I’m betting that once people buy a PS5 or upgrade to a PS5 and quickly realize there are no games to play on PlayStation that console base won’t be happy. Host why when this happens Xbox needs to have a powerhouse of a console ready to launch. They already have games ready to go that PlayStation doesn’t have. But to also tip the scales in Xbox’s favor Microsoft needs to money hat some third party games and make them look better on the Xbox. Xbox needs to give the consumers a feature or performance reason to pick up an Xbox. Once these casual gamers do and see how many games Xbox has to offer then the Xbox console will surge. Game pass doesn’t sell consoles. But I feel like consoles sell Gamepass. Microsoft needs to give consumers a reason to get a console. There are people out there who don’t even know Microsoft has a console

Yeah, i personally didnt enjoy tlou2 for many, many reasons but the gameplay is not one of them, its fucking fantastic in that regard.
Idk i can think many 3rd person shooters that leave TloU2 to dust. The animations are one of the best but GTAV,Gears,Max Payne, Uncharted 4 all have better 3rd person gunplay.

Not often i say this but utterly disagree with Jez's take that Resident evil 4deserves a nomination for game of the year. For starters by the game of the years own criterior it is inelligible. This is because one of them is CREATIVITY. There is absolutely nothing creative about recreating an already Critically acclaimed game. The only way a remake should even be in the running is if it is transorfmative. Great example being FF7 Remake. I would also add there were far better New games that pushed the medium forward. The fact that not a single new idea was nominated is frankly disgusting.

Why would Microsoft keep up with R&D of new consoles if they’re not selling and generating a profit? Not saying they’re going to exit the gaming market but them pulling a Sega is 100% a possibility. Sega is way more of a profitable company now than when they made consoles. Microsoft didn’t become Microsoft by continuing to throw away money.
Who said Xbox wasn't generating a profit ? The problem with going third party is they lose all of the micro transactions associated with Fortnite, Apex, GTA online, etc. That's where a huge portion of their money comes from.
But the profit would be even greater if they cut out the losses of the console side of business. It makes zero sense for them to continue losing money on consoles.

There is so much wrong with the whole Master Race name. Obviously they won't use that, and you should probably stop using that phrase. Also, even if Xbox stopped making consoles, Xbox would still exist as a PC app, Mobile app, cloud service, and producer of games and services. Why would they have to change their name? The Xbox brand is strong regardless of you think or say. Everyone knows Xbox, even old people. And name recognition is half the battle.
