- Raw footage from our Pyramid gap session in 2009. We started building this in a whiteout and couldn't see how far back we were building it. It ended up further back than it is usually because we built on top of an old jump that was to the first roll not the gap. It was real hard to clear. Some hectic footage. Riders are Roland Morley Brown, Heath Patterson, Derek Johnson and Nick Brown.

@@charlienelson2217 This is Pyramid Gap, Chads gap very similar but different location. Chads Gap has much older Pine trees on it, while this face has multiple stumps and fewer large pines.
Hitting pyramid was one of the best (and scariest) days of my life. After an intense plyometrics workout, I received a last-minute invite from the New Zealand crew that day. Between jello legs and a 152 contest board, the inrun was by far the most nerve-racking part. Nick walked away from the session with his double back 10, remaining one of the best shots on this jump. Such a fun crew and such a fun day. Forever grateful for that invite!!

@@djcardwell "I just got back from my workout sess with Mike Tyson when the crew hmu to come out and race the new track. The Lambo is in the garage but my Porsche is ok I guess. Couldn't really get the horsepower I needed to catch my time on the straightway but it's all good. Had tons of fun"

I snowboard a fair few times a year but how long does it take to make ramps like this? Do you need a bulldozer or something I mean holy shit. I've made small jumps in the woods off of trails with friends before, but I've always wondered how long a couple guys with shovels would take to make something like this.

Why are they so hunched over when bombing the runway? Looks like they keep falling when they go over bumps because of it. Or is it necessary for jumping tricks somehow ?
I ski not snowboard so take this with a grain of salt but if you want to gain speed you want to lower your center of gravity for stability and you want to lean/bend your knees to gain speed. You also want to do this so you could pop on the takeoff and get more height.

okay i've never done any snow sports (being from florida), so I have to ask: how much do these landings hurt? the snow is soft enough to swallow the people, so I assume it's not too bad...
edit: 2:00 didn't look exactly comfy...
If the snow is packed in at all, it hurts a whole lot. If its soft and fluffy like the side of that landing its not too bad. Definitely could still hurt if you land weird.
