    I finally got my nose on Oud Maracuja. At first I hated it on the open to mid notes. But luckily it was cold and windy out. When the dry down came about. And I was able to smell this fragrance cut through that cold like a lightsaber. I absolutely recognize the beauty of the fragrance. Smelled it again the next day. The opening was finally clicking with me. Wow what a beautiful fragrance. Super realistic passion fruit. My first Oud fragrance and just WOW! This is artistic and will not be for everyone for sure.

    Patchouli magnetik is so unique, like it's name. The longevity is out of this world.

    I’ve been going on a year now of my niche journey. I have creed,PDM,Initio. I must say. This seems to be truly niche perfumery. Can’t wait to find more houses like this.

    Patchouli Magnetik is a love at first sniff for me! 🤗🥰 I’m uncertain how Maison Crivelli earned the reputation for a terrible dry downs but I can attest that is not the case with Patchouli Magnetik. Because PM is so potent, you would think the fragrance is still on its middle stage 10 hours in even though it has evolved and dried down by then. I got it all over my clothes and the fragrance is definitely lingering whatever my jacket touched 😩😅 it’s a beautiful smell and I don’t mind getting a whiff of wherever it has transferred 😂 It’s an amazing spring/summer fragrance and for those who are afraid to test or don’t want to bite at the price, I do have a a sunscreen alternative (it’s my favorite) called Bare Republic, granted, this absolutely goes a little bit more solar than Partchouli Magnetik but it is a sunscreen after all and very smooth and aromatically pleasant for a sunscreen 🤗😅

    I adore ‘Iris Malikhan’ but have ‘Lys Solaberg’ and although lovely, it isn’t me. Lovely fragrances from them & I look forward to trying these two! 😊

    This is my second video, I’ve watched from you. And I love the details, from how you describe the perfume. I loved your video, regarding Cuir Infrarouge and had a decent size decant, tested it for a few days and fell in love. It’s definitely something I will purchase.
    Also I’m looking at getting MFK Oud Satin Mood, what’s your opinion on it. Would you recommend it over something from the house of Crivelli ? And if so what would you choose instead 😅
    Thanks 🎉

    Passion fruit flower smells gorgeous. I suspect they use the fruit in perfumes, the fruit also smells nice

      I'd imagine it's not a natural material that's used. But I could be wrong.

    Maison Crivelli has delivered fewer “hits” and more “misses” for me.
    The initial editions were intriguing but later releases relied WAY TOO heavily on woody synthetics.
    Happy to hear these two are more promising. Great video!

    • @Persolaise
      @Persolaise  Před rokem +2

      Yes, I agree. I hope they're going to start releasing more interesting work.

  • @decipheringfragranceindustry

    This is one of my most favourite houses (out of those I've tried so far). And I appreciate what the owner stands for and the whole experience they provide on the website. I think that their extracts are what they say they are - they tend to have nuclear projection and little goes a long way.
    Patchouli Magnetik (PM) is one of those that you will either love of hate I think. When I first tested it on my skin I got an awful rotten grass type of a note (looking at fragrantica I am not the only one 😄) but then I tried it couple of months later and I absolutely love it. So for me, PM was from hate to fav. How did you like it on your skin? It may give you different experiences on the skin that what you got on a tester strip.
    Oud Marakuja is oudy and smoky with very prominent passion fruit for me.

    great top! not only does it fit your style very well, but also exposes the spray-cavities
    on your shoulders for your scent of the day! :P

  • @monicalarissadjomeniwelegu7945

    Thanks for the review. For me Patchouli magnetik is 90percent of the old version of Chanel allure sensuelle just with a rose twist . What do you think ?

    • @Persolaise
      @Persolaise  Před rokem

      Gosh, interesting comparison. I can’t say it made me think of the Chanel.

    Was excited to see this review of Patchouli Magnetik. Eddy Buliki from fragrantica explained as Patchouli is the nichefied version of Black Orchid but with a durian note. Maybe that is that vintage note you described?
    Would you agree with that comparison?
    Thanks again!!
    PS what is the story behind “Akigalawood”? Is it because of the oud trend of some years past? I want in on the inside joke lol

    • @Persolaise
      @Persolaise  Před rokem +1

      I didn't really think of Black Orchid while smelling it.
      The thing with Akigalawood isn't really an inside joke, as such. It's just that Givaudan are using the material very, very frequently. And Quentin Bisch in particular appears to be extremely fond of it.

    How odd - I actually just sampled Patchouli Magnetik yesterday!
    It's certainly unusual - there's a real tropical feel to it, along with a metallic twang. The thing also lasts for a long, long time!
    I was actually quite taken with it, although I'd only gone in to buy a small bottle of their Iris.
    It's on my 'watch list'...!

    • @Persolaise
      @Persolaise  Před rokem

      Totally agree with you about the metallic note.

    Patchouli Magnetik smells like an expensive version of the famous red bug spray, e.g., H10 or rapid.

    You don't surprise me when you said you don't like maracuja in your desserts. I come from a tropical country so believe me when I say that is a difficult fruit to cook with because there is no way to distinguish between a sweet (delicious) maracuja from a sour one, and 90% of them are sour (I can't stand that acid taste!)... but mind you, the scent is the same...

  • @Once_WuZi
    @Once_WuZi Před rokem +1

    The longevity on this is nuclear but luckily the sillage is a bit more tasteful (barely ;]), it'll be interesting to see what you think of the drydown given to me it is the least interesting part of the scent while also being the most mass appealing. Also what were your thoughts on their sandalwood (Santal Volcanique)?

    • @Persolaise
      @Persolaise  Před rokem +1

      I'd have to re-smell the sandalwood.
      I have to say, I really enjoyed wearing PM last night.

      @@Persolaise I also find it interesting that the Patchouli is lowly rated on aggregate sites (Fragrantica: 3.1, Parfumo: 5.8 and the only basenotes review are both negative)
