    • @odysseyofcuriosity
      @odysseyofcuriosity Před 3 lety +2

      Glad you found it useful! If your set is from a fairly well-known company, but your exact model isn't present in any of the repositories, maybe you can try and find a similar model - ex: Sennheiser HD 598 is on the list, but you have Sennheiser HD 599. This of course won't be perfect, but it might be close enough. This can always be further tweaked manually, if needed. If there aren't any similar models either, I would just grab 4 random presets, try them, pick the one that sounds the best to me, and start manually tweaking from there. This way, getting a true flat frequency response won't be easy at all, but you still have the option to customise the sound exactly to your liking. Try and keep the EQ curve as smooth as possible (avoid boosting or cutting by a lot of dB), and listen to various tracks while doing it, for reference. Hope this helps. Good luck!

      Hey man. From what you describe, things work exactly as they should. The EQ you are applying using the steps shown in this video is only affecting your monitoring, essentially to "correct" your headphones. There's no point in burning the same EQ curve in your exported files, as other listeners will have different headphones/speakers. You want your file to sound as good as possible everywhere. Hope this helps!

    So by following your steps the earphones/speakers are now with flat response but not your hearing! As you already may know, everyone have its own audible frequency range, mine now is 12 hz to 16 kHz aging 34 and what everyone should want in my opinion is to perceive the entire own audible frequency range sounding in the same level when playing a logarithmic sweep sine through the device you are using IF you want it equalized just for YOUR hearing! Then your hearing capabilities plus your audio device source should be perceived flattened for you in order to listen to a sound mix the way the sound engineer intended thus making the resulting experience relying entirely, per say, on the engineer mastering capabilities. But in order to this work as intended, when an audio engineer mix a music he first have to make a personal equalization based on his personal hearing capabilities plus audio device he is using to listen to the sound, this neutral equalization should be applied as the last in the plug-in chain, then when he finish the mix he just take the plug-in with his personal equalization from the chain of the mix in order to make the mix tottaly neutral for everyone. But in order to hear the mix the way the engineer intended one must apply its own personal neutral equalization (hearing capabilities plus the device you will use to listen to the audio mix). Sorry about my bad English, I hope that I made myself clear about this and again this is just my opinion that I got by studying some articles over the internet over the years.

      Ransomware is usually bad news. Any chance you have a system restore point available? As for the source, it has to be some other link. Both of the links I shared are from reputable sources (SourceForge/GitHub), and don't seem to trigger any antivirus. Plus, the presets are in .csv format, which is very similar to a text file + open source, so it's very unlikely it came from them, either. Did you download any other .exe files lately? Unfortunately, there is a cyber war going on right now, and ransomware attacks have been rampant. You are probably a victim of this. This sucks bad. Hope you manage to save your files, man. 🙁

      @Hxmburg3r Před rokem +1

      Graphic EQ's: A graphic EQ will give you a fixed quantity of frequency bands. So you can think of it as points that are more Narrow and somewhat precise.
      Parametric EQ's: A parametric EQ give you more control on exactly where you want the frequency bands to be at making it more precise. They also allow you to sweep through frequency ranges when locating a sucky frequency. So you can think of this are a more precise and allows better freedom to find what exact frequencies you want to adjust.
      However, choose whichever will suit your ears when using EQ's. For me I like using Parametric EQ's since it give me a Visual ad on how the overall shape will look. But I also like Graphic EQ's as they limit me and make me think of ways to think on how to adjust things to fit my ears specifically.
