Very good neat and clean sound machine!! Not many people don't know that 15's can hold more SPL than 18's. The more SPL the bigger the sound & that little guy from Acid Sound is a Monster in the making he is gonna be the MAN one day in the future, I wish I had a little guy just like him to follow in my footsteps, keep on learning as much as you can little guy and good luck to you.
During my time in sound system 80s we had a junior sound called ,YOUNG LION , they used 15 inch speakers, in base bins, and sound just like any other sound using 18 inch speakers . They also used TUAC Amps that they assembled themselves by just getting the components from a shop and putting them together . Very powerful sound in those days . The sound i used to play was LORD DAVID Imperial HI FI .
I used Celestion 15” in my 6 scoop boxes many years ago and they were amazing. My boxes were short and deeper than typical scoops. I wanted to be unique
Many years ago I used PeaVey Black Widows 15 in 1508 I believe was the model number in a pair of USS's and that speaker could play the hole range of frequencies from midtown and sound clean clear no distortions and when I sub them out man they would go sooo low & shake the whole place! Although I was playing since the age of 15 nearly x many years ago that's all I could afford but now that I am getting back I watch your videos and I'm learning the newest and latest technologies thanks to you.
In di early 90s I did try out using 15s bass line. I would bring out di 15s for some of di small parts or little backyard bashment......boy di 8 15s scoops would hit hard and clean. People couldn't believe 15s play bass just as hard as mi 18s. The two speakers that played good to me are the 15 inch Fane Speakers and my favorite are Celestion 15 inch speakers. When you build di right box for bass from a 15, boy they will perform

Yes the sound played nice. Your right about the SPL. And that little Guy is Noah Don lol...yes he has soaked this up like a sponge.Proud of him.

I have never had a doubt in 15s. Just treat them good and they'll treat your better.
I've seen pd 1550s go lower and have less of the 80hz dip than 18s in the same scoops

Back in NY I use to used Celestions. They great speakers, however with this type of boxes 18 sound speakers work best. better

You get a better bass from the 15" speakers if they are the same brand speakers as the 18" and matched the specs.

Sometimes it is not about the size speakers, but the wattage of the speakers and ohms used and well built boxes .

Well 1 Bass box alone is 30 inches of bass, 15 should be able to play upper mid bass a bit better than 18 inch too, best of both worlds
