Santhosh Chandran's Dharma is a musical portrayal of ArdhaNareeshwara, the Hindu deity depicted as half Shiva and half Parvathy, equally split down the middle. Every human life holds an "Ardhanareeshwara" within. Out of the many nadis (energy flow channels) present inside every human, the ida and pingala are two of the most prominent. Both start from the bottom and coincide throughout at different energy points, finally merging at the head where the third-eye chakra is situated. Out of these two, ‘Ida’ holds the feminine characteristics such as intuition, empathy, compassion, etc. whereas ‘Pingala’ possesses masculine characteristics such as courage, confidence, etc. It is essential for both these energy channels to be balanced inside every person. Dharma intends to arouse the Ardhanareeshwara energy inside every human through the concept of Shiva Parvathy love and thus present the listener with a spiritually elating experience.
The whole track was performed using Cuenca Flamenco guitar, layered by notes played on a Takamine classic guitar. Gueena was another instrument used for performing Dharma. Gueena is an instrument designed by the musician himself combining the designs of guitar and the traditional Indian instrument 'Veena'. In this way the instrument can be played like a guitar while producing the sound of Veena.
