I don't understand why Nintendo doesn't allow anymore Virtual Console games for it. (Aside from the occasional SNES game that only New3DS owners can get.) Especially, considering the 3DS did much better then the WiiU in sales. Did you know Japan actually has a few NES & TurboGrafX16 games for 3DS we don't have yet? (Like Bubble Bobble, Shadowgate, and Alien Crush.)
Bubble Bobble is great. The NES version is actually included in the new "NES Classic Edition" mini system. Which kinda makes up for them never releasing the WiiU & 3DS Virtual Console versions outside Japan.
Until then, it's still at least cool to have Wario and bomberman fight together or against each other, even if he is just a assist trophy. I've been playing online with assist trophies turned on a lot.
I love how not only was this originally a Bomberman-only game but Wario just jumped in, stole the spotlight and demoted Bomberman to be the character being featured in Wario's adventure.
I watched this commercial when it first came out and I thought Wario weird for making love to a bomb but it is no worse than other weird commercials back in the day. It was funny when I now know that Wario got 2 wishes at the end of Wario Land 1. Wario's first wish was for a bigger castle than Mario's and 2. Wario wished he was indestructible so he would not die in his other games, that is what I believe.

It depends. I prefer Wario World's voice, but in newer games Charles makes Wario sound way too deep. So Wario Land 4/World Wario voice > this voice > super deep gruffy modern Wario voice
Funny enough, because of the loathing I got against Wario for how long it took me as a kid to beat him in Mario Land 2, I was more than happy to play as mysterious but cool looking Bomberman to blow him up. Didn't think I was playing as intended so to speak, though it didn't help that Wario's sprite was so dang ugly.
Are you sure that's him? I thought he retired from voice acting after leaving "Winnie the Pooh," and "Adventures of the Gummi Bears" around when the '90s began due to health issues, or something. Jim Cummings said when he came in to take over for his characters, Paul told him, "Take care of my boys for me."
It's interesting to think that Wario was so popular in the US he was actually added to a Bomberman game to help it sell better.
