When I got home from Vietnam I was yearning for song. Any song. One of my albums that i brought at the PX was this album. She fell in love with it. She asked me why I didn't send of it her a record I said yo mama I was in the Infantry. So I played it to her and she would tell me it sounded good and kept asking me to play it again. About the time we would listen to it and many others my mother I would still listen to later my father would walk into the room and bitch about the music. He was getting up from another binge on the drink. My mother loved R&R but this song came through. It was Rod Stewart's version of "Sailing: RIP my loving and groovy mother. Lets play it one more time.

My mum died in 2012 aged nearly 90...she loved this.and wanted it to be played at her funeral..it describes how I have felt the past 2 years ...not being able to get home to my family in the UK... beautiful and emotional listening to it...thank you Rod

I could watch this video a million times and it would never be enough. You can see he completely FEELS this music down in his soul ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ I’m so thankful to know that he was blessed and beat his cancer. I am a cancer survivor also and for three years of chemo, during my hardest times, Rods music came with me always and got me thru it. The look on his face in this video, as he feels his music is exactly what his talented voice did for me also. I know that look well ❤️❤️ thank you Rod for sharing your voice, talent and soul with us for all these years. I hope he knows what a difference his gift made in some of our lives. ROD STEWART WILL ALWAYS BE MY FAVORITE SINGER IN MY LIFE TIME! The very top of my bucket list after I won my battle with cancer was to see him live one day....and that dream came true! My sister surprised me with front row tickets to his show a few years ago here in Michigan...and my eyes couldn’t believe he was right there in front of me!
